We were extremely pleased at the level of service we received today when signing up to rent storage space. Tammy went above and beyond to explain what was available, prices, and agreements/conditions; how to acces, the app etc etc etc. She showed us a few units. Very positive lady. Hands-down, by far, the worst Public Storage I've ever experienced. Apparently they have no staff because there's never anybody at the front desk to help anybody. The property manager leaves her phone number, but never answers the phone or returns any phone calls, so good luck getting any help or service from anybody at this location. Everything is done by automated machines and the hidden fees are a joke! I do not recommend this public storage, not even to my worst enemy! read more

I was promised a climate controlled unit online when I did the online reservation. When I got there with the truck rented and all my stuff ready to unload, not only was there no climate control, there wasn't even light inside the unit. It was not shielded from the elements. I can tell it gets wet in there because there was rust on metal walls near the floor which means the place has flooded. Now I have to rush to get my stuff out of there and moved again. The guy at the office was cool, but it was obvious he was just a worker who could care less about my concerns. I will never use public storage again! read more

This storage unit was close to home, and I made my reservations on line. Unfortunately, the online information and in location information do not always match. The unit had some water in it and there was not someone to speak with. I will say it stayed dry while my stuff was there. I would like to give a thumbs up to Blake as he was very helpful at the end. For some reason Public Storage will prorate when you rent the unit, but won't pro rate it when you check out. Blake was helpful with explaining this and getting out of the unit prior to the next month's rent being due. The check in/out process was easy. read more

Locking mechanism was broken on storage unit, despite informing the office multiple times and documenting with photos each time, nothing was done. One day, lo and behold, expensive and cherished family possessions were stolen in December. The purchased lock was on the unit, like always, but if the door mechanism itself is broken, no lock will keep it closed. Police report filed, claims filed, no help from management. They also have no record of the multiple reports made about locking mechanism being broken. They offered to order a new mechanism which would arrive in a week or so. We didn't wait for anything else to be stolen and fixed it after a trip to the hardware store. Extremely disappointing. read more

If you can find storage elsewhere please do. I got this storage to out some stuff in while i do renovations. This is my second time trying out public storage and my last time. The customer service is horrible. They will keep raising your rental rate once your in. I started off at $84.00 rental rate. My rent is now up to $164.00 per month. It's ridiculous. I call and they lie and say thats just market rental rates, which is lie because i checked several storage company's for a 7x10 and none where $150+ per month. I politely called and spoke with the customer service who transferred me to the location and i spoke with the so called property manger Blake Borders, who was very rude asking me why am i complaining to "him" about it. He was rude and asked me "do you think I personally" did it. He was a smart ass. I an going to look into alternative storage solutions because the customet service is lacking and they are ripping people off once they are in there. read more

I had an emergency situation so I called and spoke with Sarah, the manager. She was very patient with me, listened to my needs and then explained my options. I was able to come in that day and she showed me a couple different sized spaces. I was then able to choose the one that fit my needs. She answered all my questions and put my mind at ease. Sarah was very friendly, polite and professional. I strongly recommend doing business with Public Storage on Gravois Road, I'm grateful I did! read more

The woman manager is a complete jerk-off. I called up to let them know I moved out today. The Manager said I owed $77 and forwarded my call to the automatic system. The automatic system said that I was paid through the end of the month. I also tried through the text-link Public Storage sent me. It also said I was fully paid through the end-of-the-month. I called her back saying the system says I'm paid. She said I was lying and that I owed $77. I told her I've done the text-message AND her forwarding of my call to the automatic system. She went ballistic, said I owed $77 and that I was lying and she was going to send me to collections. Things got heated and then she played the victim and hung up saying she felt 'unsafe' because I wasn't crawling on my belly and kow-towing to her. In the end, I did work it out with the 1-800 customer service and did owe the $77. But the reason I kept getting the 'fully-paid' account balance was that SHE HAD FOULED UP MY ACCOUNT and it was linking to someone else's payment account and NOT MINE. read more

This Public Storage facility has the worst customer service of any business I have ever dealt with. We have had a storage unit at this locations for nearly 20 years. We pay our bill a year in advance and keep a clean and organized unit that we rarely visit . That being said, the past two years, without ever receiving a bill, we have gotten a phone call saying that our lock has been cut and out unit will be up for auction with in a month. If it wasn't so inconvenient to move to another storage facility I would have been out of this place long ago. They have no concept of customer service or how to run a business only how to send threats. If you go forward with this Public Storage location, good luck. read more

While I haven't had any problems with this location specifically, the company will do anything to rip you off and is far from courteous. Using rude language, implying stupidity of customers, and continuously changing prices. I've rented through other storage companies that were upfront and honest. That's not what I've experienced from public storage. In fact, they refused to reply to my last contact. Rent somewhere else. read more

Had to sign a lease at the last minute for a storage unit in Chicago. Rita stayed late to help us out and even entertained my young son while I was on the phone giving information to the Chicago office! I'm not sure about their storage units but if their customer service is anything like their storage I'm sure anyone would be happy they used this facility. read more

Other than accessing the entrance of the building Public Storage is okay the manager was very professional and very nice I do have a couple extra hidden fees that they should tell people about when asking for information like you have to provide your own lock or you have to pay for one that's $20 you're going to need insurance stuff like that just so people know other than that it was a great visit appreciate using the storage facility read more

I only stored my things here for less than 7 months. When I went to my storage unit yesterday my things were wet and mold was growing all over. There is furniture I must throw out as well as other expensive shoes and such. I was not pleased to say the least. I called the office but they were closed and left a message. Today, I had a message from them. However, instead of apologizing for my stuff being wet and ruined Rita on the phone started the message off with because I wasn't moved out by 5pm yesterday I owe 1.71 and at the end of the message said "oh, and about your stuff being wet, I don't know..." So, am I being called a liar? And then proceeded to say "we don't handle that you had insurance and you have to go through them." Had no contact information for the insurance place either. It's the insurance place that they make you get at public storage, its mandatory! I wonder why? This happen a lot? I certainly would not recommend this Public storage on in Affton on Gravois. The whole reason why I chose them is because they are apparently climate controlled.....seems as though it's not so much! read more

A manager at this location called the local police station on August 5th, 2017, because he heard "childlike" noises coming from my unit or the unit next to mine. I am a complete advocate of children, and was not upset that police were called to the scene, as if there was a child in ANY unit, I would want that child saved. HOWEVER, no child was found on the property, police rummaged through my unit, or so it was noted, and things were damaged and put back like a tornado had attacked my belongings. When I arrived to my unit on Saturday, August 18th, 2017, I was shocked to see a different lock - there were stickers on it and my key would not work. When management showed up to work at 930 AM, I immediately reported that I could not get into my unit. Upon further investigation (looking at what little notes were taken), the current manager, Nichole, told me what had happened on the 5th of August. NO ONE alerted me for almost 3 weeks? I was floored and am completely dissatisfied with how this was handled. She gave me the number of the district manager, Dan Frohock, and I have been calling him with no answer and no return of phone call. I have called back to this location and the assistant there "reassures" me he will call me back. I called customer service this afternoon and Jonathon told me to continue calling. Are you kidding me? He then gave me the number of the regional manager...who ended up being the regional manager of Dallas! This is absolutely ridiculous and I am outraged at the poor, failing, unresponsive, and incredibly disrespectful service I have received. Just now, I have called again to speak with the manager of the location, the assistant, Kayla, once again answered the phone. She told me that I had JUST missed the district manager, Dan Frohock. She said that if I would have called 20 minutes before, I would have reached him. I told her I DID call at least 5 times. She said that the phone was probably on MUTE. WHY WOULD A service-oriented company who on their website guarantees 100% customer satisfaction have their office phone on MUTE during business hours? read more

Although the people at this office is nice as can be, they do not reflect the image of the business as a whole. After being with them for a year and always paying my bill on time, they raised my rent 25 percent. It went from 109.00/month to 133.00/month. I called the corporate office to ask why such a dramatic increase and they said it has to do with "nationwide fees," whatever that means. I told them I may have to vacate and go to another storage facility literally down the street where it is nicer and now cheaper than Public Storage's rates. They told me they were sorry to hear that but "you got to do what you go to do." I could tell they really care. read more

Clean, well-lit, well-maintained, secured property. Property manager directly on property. Great customer service. One thing to note, however, the location is somewhat confusing to get to (it is near an overpass/viaduct and you have to approach it from the right angle to even get into - GPS doesn't get that detailed), so if you are planning to rent with the, call and get directions. read more

I rented a parking space for one month and generally had a good experience. I'm taking off one star for the gate being stuck open for most of that month, which is a security issue. Also, during our initial rental procedure, Sarah was a bit abrasive because we arrived 15 minutes before closing time (the weather and traffic were awful), but she loosened up and regained her customer service skills and the rental ended on a high note. The closing procedure was incredibly smooth and Rita was very helpful and courteous. Overall, a good experience. read more
