I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience renting a unit here was frustrating from start to finish. First, there is no on-site staff. Everything must be handled through an app, chatbot, or remote customer service representative. If something goes wrong, there is no one available to help in person. When I arrived on the day I was scheduled to rent my unit, the gate access code didn't work. I spent time texting with a chatbot before eventually reaching a remote representative who was able to open the gate from somewhere off-site. The problems didn't stop there. I downloaded the Bluetooth app that's supposed to provide access, but that didn't work reliably either. At multiple points in the process, the technology failed. I was also surprised to learn that I could not use my own lock and that insurance was automatically added to the rental. The entire experience felt designed to funnel customers into a system with very little flexibility and almost no human support. The most frustrating part is that when things go wrong, there appears to be no straightforward way to speak with someone locally or resolve issues quickly. Storage should be simple. This wasn't. Multiple points of failure, no on-site assistance, and poor customer experience. Run, don't walk, from this facility. read more

Rent over doubled in our first year... Finally moved out and am still getting texts that we have late payments. We had an indoor unit with 2 garage doors on it but we could only open 1 of them. No lighting in the unit which made it hard to access our things. read more

****Beware*****before signing up because once you do move in its tough to relocate if needed. They get you in with "a deal" then they continually raise your monthly rent with no reason given. My rent has gone up $140 per month in a year. Yet I've talked to other renters and there are some that are still the same. Beyond frustrating. The on-site ppl are helpful but have no control or ability to help with it. I've heard ppl say it's an algorithm they use on who gets increases. The phn number goes to a call center and they are not able to help either. Ridiculous!!! They know ppl are stuck and don't want to deal with moving their stuff!!!! Stay away... there are other places in the area who are much easier to deal with. read more

I would give this location a 0 if I could. I rented 2 spaces from the lm in September. One of the spaces holds a lot of very sentimental and expensive items. The unit they gave me had a broken lock system and was very difficult to open and close. Because of this I could not put my lock back onto it. This left all of my personal belongings unprotected. On October 21st the supposed manager of that location contacted me because he had not seen a lock. We discussed the issue and he promised to get someone out there to replace the lock ASAP. 9 days later the person at that Savage location contacted me wanting me to make a payment of $13.00 in which I explained to her that I had 2 units. 1 unit held only 1 box which I wanted to move to my big unit and close out, the second unit had a broken lock and nobody had contacted me back. She told me that the manager would reach out to me the next day. He never did. I went to the location to move the one box which I told her I would do the next day and try and jam the other lock shut so I could have some protection on my belongings and they disabled the code for me to get into the gate. I called them again. For 3 days straight and NOBODY will call me back. The best part is that they don't actually have someone on the property to talk to. You have to do everything by a kiosk. So it's been 11 days of no contact and a unit that is still sitting without a lock. I owe have to escalate this matter higher up and will never use public storage again. They are ridiculous. read more

Very dissapointed in them, a 10x10 is now a$124 a month. that is ridiculous. I am going to move my stuff because they keep jacking the price. A 10x10 unit is NOT worth a total of $138 a month with insurance. read more

The $1 first month turned to over $40 upon signing,2 weeks later in my email for next billing cycle,showed a past due amount of another $15?! I removed my belongings within 2 weeks of renting storage at the savage location,and inquired about vacating my space,to be told I was looking for some shit to just whine about! I'd like to believe that the company wouldn't work like that,and it was the employees doing altogether. But,I cant even get through to anyone to make a complaint,or verify payment which was either misleading or a scam. Didnt catch the employees name,being she was rude/and argumentative which upset me even further. But,if you go to that location,I recommend not speaking with a larger female driving a beat up Ford escape. Worst experience ever,very unprofessional read more

SO UPSET! Drove to Minnesota to empty out our storage to bring to Sioux City and found it cut into and the Expensive lock they sold me just dangling. we chose this place in August because they bragged about having a secure entrance, fences, cameras, indoor climate-control locker near the office. So, How the Heck does someone use a saw, Indoors, in a controlled facility, and cut our locker open and steal our Brand New (HEAVY) King Mattress(had to have taken planning and several people to carry), our 70 inch Smart TV, Jewelry, and even medication without them seeing? Well over $8000 worth! They said, "File an insurance claim." had to be an inside!!! job..CROOKED... NEVER use Public Storage in Savage!!!! read more

Wonderful, compassionate, and great services. Angie was very helpful in letting me know all the ins and outs of accessing the building as well as the different sizes of units and rates. Gates worked, stuff was safe and secure, and she even called to remind me that if I wanted to vacate I would need to let them know soon to avoid additional charges. Angie was always very helpful when we had a question at the office. Overall we had a good experience. Our only complaint was that the main gate was broken for half of the summer which seemed like a security issue, although we had no actual problems with the security of our unit. read more

I was needing to downsize my unit. When I contacted my location, I spoke with Chip. He reviewed basic information & set the appointment for me. When moving day came, Ruth was the attendant that was in the office. She was very sweet & thorough. She reviewed all the paperwork with me, went over a few things that had slipped my mind fronm when I initially signed up. I have had my belongings @ this location for 9 months & with the exception of not having 24 hr access, I couldn't have my things at a better place. I also spokew with the current onsite manager, Angie. She was also very nice & a pleasure to work with. read more

Never again. I have had a storage unit with this place for about 6 years. First the price keeps getting jacked up, they added insurance onto my bill WITHOUT MY CONSENT, a mess of other things with billing and website account issues that never let me manage my account online. I finally had enough. And them bumping my bill to $150 a month put me over the top. So I stopped in to the office in May, paid my bill through the end of June and told the lady at the counter I would be vacating by then. I signed whatever paperwork was needed and she said TRY and stop in once the unit is empty and clean. Fast forward to June 30, I get the last of my stuff out, sweep the floor clean including a couple dead mice, remove all the spider webs from around the door and ceiling, close the door and exit the facility. I pull up to the office, walk up to the door and it is locked. It's 5:50. The sign says they close at 6:00pm. Shrug my shoulders and leave. Fast forward to today I get a call from a lady saying that since I didn't notify them that I was vacating I have an outstanding balance. WHAT?!?!? She wasn't even willing to discuss anything, just saying I should have called if they were closed and repeatedly saying I must pay. Never ever again, Public Storage will never get another dime from me! PS, don't expect your unit to be waterproof. I had water damage on a few things that were sitting on the floor and a heavy coat of rust on ALL steel surfaces. read more

There were more fees than what we expected or was initially communicated on line, but they were minimal. Look for the 1st month discount, we missed it and they didn't offer it to us. read more

I just recently rented from Rob at this location. Rob made my experience so much better as he was honest, very helpful, and willing to be of service. Cannot recommend this place. I wasn't pleased with the introduction to the place and I wasn't pleased with the move-out. The woman at the counter (Angie) was more like a used car salesman trying to sell you every service they could possible add on and then lying when she said it was MANDATORY to purchase insurance through them.
