The property manager never answers the phone and never gives a return phone call. Even if it relates to a billing issue they do not call back. Causing potential late fees and over unneeded stress. Do not use this business unless you like poor customer support. Also for not having any climate controlled units they grossly overcharge in my opinion. Had a unit there for three years and they never plowed the snow or made it safe for customers until last minute. read more

No issues with our use for the first 3 months. Easy access and seemed safe/secure enough. Luckily we found a house and didn't have to pay the 4th month that they jacked up by $57. In the contract there is nothing deterring upping the price besides a month's notice. I've heard it's pretty standard in this industry, though. Recommend for short-term use. read more

If I Could give then a -5 I would! The Desk clerk I'd a judgemental lunatic. She verbally assaulted my husband and he has A LOT of patience, and when he finally responded to her yelling at him to get his fu#&*@% lowlife ass off the property and accused us of being on property too long, when we simply were unloading our 2 bedroom condo from a 26ft box truck only the 2 if us, was asinine! Then called the police on us saying we were trespassing is just unheard of. So now while all of our belongings are currently on their property, WE ARE NOT ALLOWED BACK ON SITE. So how do we get our stuff? DO NOT RENT FROM THIS LOCATION! Go up the street about 1/2 mile to their other facility! read more

Ease in signing up for storage online and payments. Very reasonable pricing. I have a travel trailer and it was a bit tight backing it in, but doable. No covered parking at this location. read more

My husband spotted large droppings in our unit and I had to follow up three times to find out what was going to be done. We didn't leave the unit open. Basically, nothing is going to happen. Maybe someday they will put "rat traps" in there, is what I'm told. I'm trying to figure out where to put our stuff ASAP since they aren't concerned about having infestations. read more

My rent was raised $20 last year, and this year it went up another $40!!! Going to look for a place that isn't trying to rob you. I must be paying for the rodents rent as well. read more

When we showed up we were slap happy and strung out from a week on the road. My companion and I were like the Keystone Cops. Kyle was not only professional and patient but made us feel at home; as if we'd just stopped by to say hi to a friend . He lined us up with a good spot in no time, and we felt like we were in good hands. Later when it was time to remove our stuff and check out, Krystal was kind and took care of our account without a hitch. Kyle and Krystal are outstanding and this facility was clean and safe. read more

I just got an email that my rent was being increased to $84 a month after only having my storage since May. I never got my $1 first month and I never had an discounts. $84 is very steep for a 5 foot space. I will notice this storage again. read more

I've actually rented from this storage place twice now. The prices are fair and reasonable, it is easy to get to, and it is clean. Barbara was extremely helpful when my dad lost my storage keys and had to remove the lock. When I would call and had to leave a message, she would call back quickly and answer my questions. Really like this storage place and would use again if needed. read more

Area is kind of hidden (even from the highway that runs right by), which I think is a bonus as folks can't break into what they don't know is there. Access hours were reasonable - I don't recall ever needing to get in outside of them. Weren't very responsive when I was looking to terminate my contract, hence the star deduction, but overall I'd recommend them and use them again if the need arose. read more

History

Established in 1972.

The first Public Storage building opened in El Cajon California, but the new business was only supposed to be temporary. Two partners pioneered the concept as a way to use their real estate investment while they waited for the Southern California community to take off and value of their land to grow. They kept building, and people continued to fill their units. Eventually the pair realized that self-storage was here to stay, and they never looked back. Today, there are thousands of neighborhood Public Storage locations to choose from, many right around the corner from you.

We kept waiting for the notice via email but didn't receive ours until April 28th at which point we were notified our rent was increasing $70.00 per month. We started looking for other storage facilities and then reached out to ask for a price match from RecNation which took a few days for them to respond and then they still weren't going to match the price we had. We then emailed to say we would be moving out before June 1st as the original rental agreement said we had to give 10 days notice. We received an email back saying that as of January 1, 2024, there was a change that a 30 days notice was required. We never received notification of this change. We didn't have time to give them 30 days since we only got our notice 34 days in advance. We feel that RecNation has deceptive business practices. Ironically, we get emails all the time from them about giveaways, must be why they raised their prices so much.

She was extremely kind and helpful, asked me questions that helped choose a unit that would best suit my needs. She picked one close to the elevator so I didn't need to walk far, which I really appreciated. I was impressed with the level of detail she provided along with the great move in special rate I received. I was equally impressed when I went in to sign paperwork. The guy covered every detail and answered every question before I could ask it, he was kind, professional & very informative. As for the actual storage, you will not find a more safe, secure, clean and well kept facility. I was extremely impressed with the actual facility and my space was immaculate. Each building contains 2 carts they allow you to use at no extra charge, so I did not need to purchase my own. The climate controlled unit, cleanliness, helpful & professional staff and security are well worth the money. This is the "Cadillac" of storage facilities in my opinion & I highly recommend this facility. This is the BEST storage experience I have ever had, best service and best facility. I've price checked the cost of gas a couple times in the past but finally gave up years ago, because Brad always had everyone beat. You can pre-pay for your gas on a contract, or you can roll the dice and pay as you go (and hope there's not a shortage in December driving prices up). We buy ours every summer/fall for the winter to lock in the price. One year someone drove over the top of our underground tank and broke the plastic "hatch". Brad was out here within a week with a used hatch he'd come up with somewhere and rather than digging completely down to the tank to bolt it on, was able to cut the old one out and install the new one in a way that doesn't leak water, and saved me a ton of money (and him a ton of work!). They're always johnny on the spot with fills; we try not to let our tank get below 30% so that we can give them flexibility but if you've got an emergency or run out of gas, they'll be there immediately (emergency charges apply obviously, but they're not unreasonable). Just a great company to deal with every time I've interacted with them, and they've got the cheapest price on gas anytime I've ever checked around. Even if they didn't I'd likely keep using them because they're a small family company rather than a conglomerate. When the owner of the company gives you his cell phone number for emergencies, you know you're going to be well taken care of!

I carefully prepared by packing additional boxes, labeling everything clearly, and organizing where items should go in the new apartment. About three hours into the move, the crew said the truck was full and left a large amount of my belongings behind at the original house. When we arrived at the apartment, the movers damaged the floor in the entryway and initially denied responsibility even after I showed them photos of the condition beforehand. The service advertised as "white glove" was never delivered. Items removed from walls were not rehung, furniture was not fully set up, and much of the crew stood around waiting for payment while the job remained incomplete. To make matters worse, I paid over $2,000, and the company ultimately refused to return to finish the job. I was left with three truckloads of my belongings still at the house, which I then had to move myself. The movers themselves were polite, but the planning, coordination, and follow-through from management were extremely disappointing. I expected professional service and instead experienced property damage and an incomplete move.

I have used this Public Storage a few times. I am very satisfied with the service and the facility. Barbara made it possible for us to move in immediately after doing the paperwork and even swept out the garage for us. The location is somewhat hidden from the main highway which is nice for security reasons. The area has nice protection with a secure gate. I would recommend this for anyone's needs! read more

The security measures seem to be working, there is a gate, lots of lights and I've seen cameras. The employee we talked to was very nice. He made us feel very welcome and he seems responsible. One of the nicer outdoor storage facilities. It's a bit difficult to find, but the privacy makes me feel like my unit is safer. Even though it's outdoors, I've never had an issue with vermin or water leaking in.
