PS is the industry leader in western Washington and most other communities in the western US in terms of personal long term storage. As such they have provided safe secure placement of my belongings for over two years. Their facilities are clean and appear well maintained. I don't worry about my stuff I have stored there. However, what began in late 2019 at $59/month has ballooned to almost $200/mo. While I expected the early-pandemic pricing to expire and increase, the rates have become usurious and the somewhat capriciously applied late payment premiums are almost 20% (and mandatory PS sourced liability instance at more than three times what my renters insurance charges for such a third party storage unit coverage) and not ever waived. Thus I will be relocating my storage to a locally owned competitor for a little more than half the PS rate for an open ended term. In fact, in north Seattle and nearby such arrangements are widely available if not heavily advertised. Greatly disappointed that while my rental residential landlord, and other creditors have behaved honorably over the entire pandemic and continuing, PS has raised my rate three times, and dinged me for several payments 1 day outside contractual "Grace period". Not a good community or corporate citizen. C- on a studied bell curve. read more

They raise the price almost every month started at $100 a month and they raised the price &100 each month until it was $300plus. I was trying to load up my truck and then about 5 minutes after 9 I was locked out with my door open and my keys just siting there in my open locker. THE WORST STORAGE EVER!!!!! The manager, Austin, is the biggest PIECE OF #*@%! my storage units were broken into, and belongings stolen 4 different times, and they don't care. Was even informed by the police officers that their "security cameras" dont even work. I have even told by other customers that their units have all been broken into as well. Then, the manager Austin kicks me out of my units because I asked them to fix the door after the break-in. AUSTIN is the absolute WORST manager i have ever seen at an establishment. I can't even believe he is an employee. The other gentleman Tuki, i believe his name was, was actually respectful and helpful resolving the situation. I've been a customer at this location for 5 months and in this time, my gate code had suddenly stopped working twice, leaving me without access to my unit. The remedy was time consuming, and while staff were supportive and helpful, the debacle was huge hassle and I have zero confidence it won't happen again. Adding to this, I recently received a 30 day notice on a 30 percent rate increase. I understand rising costs, but 30 percent is greed. It's worth noting my bill has been paid on-time and I've always been a patient super trooper about the disabled gate access. I'm shocked this business believes it's justified to screw its loyal customers like this. read more

The buildings are clean, the staff generally pleasant. We moved our stuff into a unit in December, $122 a month (a discount) and all was fine. Then, after the first of April, we received a postcard announcing that our monthly rate was being raised to $167 a month! That's an increase of $45! Right when gas prices and everything else is up, with no explanation at all. Just because they could? We are looking for a better deal and are not happy. read more

What a horrible experience. I called several days ago and reserved a unit. I went in and met with Paul and he starts by complaining about his job. He shows the unit we reserved and went up to do paperwork. We then go down and start to unload. 1/2 way through we discover the door frame is not connected to the building. So I go back up the hill and tell them the unit is broken. Of course they don't believe me and we go down to see that yes it in is in fact broken. So he looks at his sheet and says there is a unit available 5 doors down. OK let's just switch. "Oh no we need to do more paperwork". Paul tells me. So again up the hill we go only for Paul to tell me that the replacement unit is already reserved. He checks his computer and tells me if I load my truck back up and drive to the other side of the building he could rent me an identical size unit for a higher price. What kind of bait and switch BS is this? At this point I have no faith in Paul or this company and told him to cancel the deal. After reloading up our truck I checked in and was told that he only could refund $96 of the $140 he charged on my credit card. I presume we will get the rest refunded when someone who knows how to use their computer gets to our file...I'm not counting on it though and will not be surprised if I have to dispute this charge. Now I have to rent our moving truck another day as it was too late in the day to find another storage company. Unbelievably frustrating. It's been a week and they still have not credited back my credit card (what a surprise) so I called my credit card company and disputed the charge. Don't go here. There are much more reputable companies to work with! read more

Manager was unprofessional. Staff was very friendly but the manager clearly had no clue. I only visited this location two times-- once to drop off my things, once to pick up so maybe my sample size is too small. They neglected to send me a payment due email so I went to collect my things and had a surprisingly large bill. My own fault for not putting a bill due in my calendar I guess, but the manager (again, not the staff. the staff was lovely) was a huge jerk. He was also condescending and rude to his employee in front of me--very unprofessional. The manager also took FOREVER to figure out how to locate the payment and blah blah. CAUTION! We had a significant amount of stuff stolen from this Public Storage location! I arrived one day this summer and opened our (locked) unit for the first time in two months and found that every box had been cut open and many had been dumped out. I immediately went to the manager's office where they provided zero help other than handing me a generic pamphlet on insurance and saying I could call the police if I wanted to. When I asked if there had been any recent break ins, the manager simply said: "oh yeah, the unit next to yours reported a break in last week." Now- I realize the contract we signed releases the company from liability, but they were not at all helpful and were not professional. When I went back to the manager's office later, I overheard her telling a potential client that the location was safe. Right in front of me when she had just been told I was broken into! After speaking with the Police, it became evident that this is a problem location, and break ins occur often. As we unpacked our things in our new home, we realized that the amount of things stolen meant the thieves had to: 1)empty out our entire unit to get to items purposefully placed in the very back, 2) look through every box to grab single more desirable items out, and finally, that they had to have a considerable amount of uninterrupted time to do this. If you choose to store your belongings here because it is one of the cheapest places around- inform yourself about what kind of security your money is getting you! read more

I have used this location for many years, recommended this location to all of our clients over the years, and never seemed to have any issues (barring the theft I had heard about here and there). A couple of weeks ago I rented a space from Rose and the gang, and today I found my unit had been broken into. The unit was completely trashed, boxes rummaged through, and many items missing (including a 60" flat screen). After closer inspection of the door, it was clear that someone pried the door open from the bottom, allowing them access without have to take the lock out. I spoke with the office staff to see what I should do next.... they handed me an insurance brochure, and told me to file a police report. The manager mentioned that there was some early morning activity on my access code (445am), so I asked to see the footage. The footage they showed me consisted of a man in a white pick up truck pulling up to the gate just after 445am, jumping over the gate, punching in my access pin on the inside keypad, and then jumping back in his truck to drive down to the storage facility as the gate opened. Twenty minutes later.... the man in the truck punched my access code in again at the interior keypad, and sped off with with a truck bed full of items. Since I have had my access code and storage keys locked in my car for the past few weeks, this leaves me wondering about a couple of things.... Why was I not contacted by the facility when this strange activity occurred (since they knew exactly what to show me when I came in today to report the burglary)? How much did the staff get paid for leaking my access code to a low-life thief? Police report has been filed, claim to insurance is in the works... and definitely never sending any of my business to this facility again. This incident will be a great sales pitch on why not to store with Public Storage at 14900 Aurora Ave N (unless you are trying to get rid of those unwanted items). Jake read more

When it became necessary to find storage space for items that have been in my family for generations, I was really unsure about where I would do this and still have peace of mind. I looked up the reviews about the Shoreline Public Storage, and was impressed, but I wanted to see the space for myself and find out who I would be trusting with these prized possessions. I was so pleased to find the manager of the location (Rose) was very professional and courteous as she helped me determine what size space would be best for my purposes, what I could expect my monthly bill to be, how to access my information online, and insure my items while in storage (I had never used commercial storage space before), and I really felt that her concern for *my* concern was very genuine...she wasn't just trying to make a sale--she really cared! It's been more than 9 months since making my choice, I would HIGHLY recommend this Public Storage location to anyone. I don't recommend this business at all. First the good: The staff are polite and helpful, good people. The bad: Had a unit for just a month and they never bothered to fix the exterior access to the building so you'd have to put in your code several times if it ever bothered to work, they took forever to work on my unit's door and still it didn't work, carts always seemed to be missing, and it appears there are folks living in the building. Could be wrong on that, but there definitely seemed to be squatters and a former employee (now working at a much much better unit) said that was frequently a problem. I was all right paying a higher cost with the understanding that they would hold this facility to a higher standard than say... an empty lot somewhere. That does not appear to be the case. The West Coast Sheridan Beach storage on 522 is a much better option overall, makes me wish I didn't bother with Public Storage at all. read more

Public Service Announcement: Do not store your belongings here. Security is soft and is easy pickings for thieves. My unit was in the climate controlled building with chicken wire overhead all the units. The thieves climbed on top to scope out which units have goods they want. Then they used wire cutters to access the unit, all without any noticeable damage from the front. I noticed mine was broken into but nothing missing and I notified the office and they said it would be repaired. Two months later the repair was not made and items were stolen. The insurance that they provide also does not pay out to compensate for the loss. Be warned, the passive and negligent management does not take care of this facility. If you must use this storage facility, buy your own insurance that will cover your loss. read more

We have had public storage at this facility since 2011 and recently bought a house so storage was no longer needed and we moved our stuff out. We have always had fantastic customer service and Rose and Paul have been friendly and provided great customer service. We had an outside storage unit and it never was broken into in the 6 years we rented our unit from this location. I will still buy more moving boxes and bubble wrap from them as they have the best quality boxes! They are sturdy. If you need storage, go to this location, They will take care of you! read more

This was the 3rd Public Storage location in the Seattle area, where once again, they could not deliver what I had been promised by phone, even received confirmation by email, yet when I got there in person they did not have the right kind of unit available. Further, they will not give you a refund, even if you vacate the same day you came in. read more

There is no manager living on-site, the only video camera is at the gate. The gate has been damaged and left open for days at a time, meaning there is no security. There is systematic theft that occurs and Public Storage and its on-site managers will not alert you to a string of break-ins (such as the one where the thieves drove up to a back fence, used a pick up truck bed to climb in, and cut the locks from dozens of units over a 2 week break-in spree). They made us buy worthless insurance and would not provide a copy of the policy as part of our rental agreement. All of who submitted a claim on our storage insurance policy mandated & sold by Public Storage were denied. They are expensive, no security, no service, and not worth price. read more

They were so nice even though they knew I was going to rent from a different public storage closer to my house. I recommend this place as they have great customer service! read more

The employees there are awesome and thank you Rose you are a great manager BUT there corporate offices need to realize without customers they have no jobs and I for one will not be using them and I guess the almighty dollar is more important than helping out a teenage girl that had a mishap. The usage of the elevator is very painful and an inconvenience to constantly add a long secure code. Elevator went out of service with no sense of urgency or posting a out of service sign. Also, no alternate access if elevator goes down. read more
