The cost is similar to all other storage places I've looked into. They do have 24 hour access available for a fee. I used to pay it, but it went up when I got a large larger unit and decided that I'm no longer needed the 24 hour access. They do have employees in the office, but it's kind of random. It was really easy to open my account. It really depends who's working. It's good quality you get what you pay for the value, but I started three months ago at $100 a month and I just got an email saying in two weeks. It will be up to 130 so they didn't give me even 14 days to tell them I decide to move my stuff elsewhere because I don't agree with that Service requested but it's very nice and clean easy to get to this location. Lemlem at the reception area was very personable and helpful. She deserves high praise. Unfortunately this came in the context of me vacating my small 5x5 unit this weekend after 4 years, as the monthly price climbed every 6-12 months from ~$40 to 48 to 54 to 70 to 90 and now due to increase to $110 (!?!). An increase of 5-10% per year wouldn't have been as offensive, but this seems like calculated greed on the part of the large corporate entity. I guess their marketing/pricing algorithm worked in their favor for a few years. But I finally got "smarter". FYI a comparable unit with a different company just down the road will only be $25/month (of course there is always the chance that entity may follow the same strategy ;) read more

An emphatic NO on this business. I rented a unit over the phone yesterday, and when I arrived with a carload of boxes at 7:30 PM, the security doors were disabled and permanently open. Of course, no one was around, and I didn't want to go in. I tried calling every number I could find, but all they have is a maddening voicemail system: no emergency numbers, no way to report a problem. This is a terrible way to run a business! What if there had been a genuine emergency? What if someone needed help on their premises? * Naturally, I'm canceling my reservation. * I finally talked to a real person and asked this question: What if someone inside had an emergency and called 911? Can the police get inside? He was belligerent and defensive, and said that they have to respond to a scenario as it happens and can't have all the answers beforehand. This is not an unlikely scenario, and they are completely unprepared for on-premises emergencies! read more

Consider this more of a public service announcement than a review. I know that very few people read the contract that you sign when you put your worldly goods in storage. They are allowed to up the rate that you are paying whenever they want and they do. I talked to the on-site person and the district manager and was told that they weren't going to raise the monthly amount I was paying. But they did. I want to note that I did pay my monthly rent on time for the last five months, and for March, But they jacked it up and demanded the extra money and they locked me out Until I paid it. I know another 35 bucks isn't the end of the world, but it stinks that they can do it. read more

This particular site has poor access from Aurora Ave, but it works well enough. I'm concerned that the parking lot is very small and I imagine that weekends could get pretty crowded. I got a good summer rate. Hopefully it stays reasonable for the term of my need. Elevators are somewhat small but I haven't moved anything large into my unit. The site is clean. And the temperature seems well regulated. I went to my unit on one of the hottest days of the year and there was no uncomfortable temps on my floor. read more

Expect no good parking. Only two load zone spaces. Expect a long wait for the elevator. Expect the Manager to Never be onsite when your there on the weekend. Expect to not get help with your lock to the unit even through you are now paying $400 a month for it. Expect to wait in line for the ONLY ENTRY DOOR. Expect to punch in your code twice to get to your floor. Expect to get a unit as far away from the elevator as possible. Expect to have your rent increase by 25% per year. Yea. Expect to spend 8 hours clearing out your unit. The elevators are slow. Expect the two free carts to be in use by others all day long. Expect on the last day of each month the management to not be helpful at all, just trying to make you pay $400 for an additional month. Expect to pay $280 to have a locksmith drill your lock out if you loose the key. Expect only one employee on site that is helping others most of the time. Expect to pay a penalty the day after your rent is late. No exceptions. Expect to use the smallest truck you can find due to a small parking lot. Expect to pay you moving crew mote because of the excessive time it takes to get to your storage unit. You cannot drive up to any of the storage units. read more

I originally gave you some poor remarks and only one star when I first was looking for a storage unit because I think it a scam to not get a unit that could be several square feet off from what a customer pays and Icontracts will encourage anyone thinking of getting a storage unit to bring a tape measure of the unit you are going to rent. All the companies have put in their contracts that the measurements are estimates. Some lawyers made money that day because they all use it in the dcontracts and websites. It is sad because these units don't shrink. This isn't about that. Once I found a location, and by the way, you guys rock in price compared to others that dont meet your quality. This location is clean and I applaud who is in charge here. The problem is, the price increase after the first year was reasonable. but this second year it was raised $38. Why the big increase. If you want me to leave this is the sure sign of getting that to happen so that way you can go through the process all over again with someone else. I don't get it. There should be an obvious reason to raise the price per month on a customer who has paid their bill every month without an issue. I realize this is a business and your who reason for doing this is to make money. Mine is to save money. I will be working on having an apartment sale to get rid of everything in storage and my aparmtnet in an attempt to simply downsize. I have been postponing long enough and you have forced my hand. I recommend Public Storage to anyone as long as you bring a tape measure, and its under two years. If you still have storage, look into downsizing. Also, not every facility is equal. If the one you are looking at needs a little maintenance, look at the map for another one. I was fortunate to have found one close enough to my Costco that the trip wasn't always because of storage. read more

I have been a customer of this location for years. At one time I had 5 units rented. The first problem is the parking lot. There is no room for cars and trucks, and very few parking spaces. Second, the office is never open. The agent on location is also responsible for keeping the building clean, so they are often inside the building rather than in the office. When you call the number that is listed, there is never any answer. Third, they have closed the restroom at this location. I had to ask the agent if I could use the restroom, as my codes no longer worked. When I asked her why, she did not have a reasonable answer. When she allowed me to use the restroom (with her code), I discovered that they had turned the water off to the sink, and there was no soap in the dispenser. I am not sure that it is even legal to NOT provide a restroom to customers. Finally, in my opinion, Public Storage is NOT interested in their customers. They are interested in the bottom line (money). I understand that businesses need to make money, but the rates are becoming ridiculous. I have moved all of my things out of Public Storage, and will never do business with them again. read more

Items were stollen. We were mandated to pay insurance on the unit that does not cover theft due to faulty design above the gate of the rental unit (I figured no one was that thin, I was wrong). One day we went to the storage unit and found it ransacked. Boxes were ripped open, items were broken, total violation of trust. When we went to the office of Public Storage, we were told to file a police report and handed a pamphlet to call the insurance we were mandated to take when we first rented the unit. (Person at the desk barely looked up, just handed the paper) Insurance told us to list everything and kept denying the claim for one reason or another (police report was not detailed enough, needed to have obvious breaking and entering, etc.) Police called to the scene stated that someone must have rented a unit there and climbed over to ours and had their pick of what they wanted. (Yes people are skinny enough to get through those bars per the police) After robbers took what they wanted, they stacked our items to escape. We had finger and foot smudges, but no prints to offer. (would not have mattered, insurance wanted the robbers to damage the storage gate and break in otherwise the theft is not acknowledged). We posted our story in a local online group as a warning and to my surprise many people have had similar issues and have been broken into. Some people stated that their unit was broken into several times and felt that the break inside jobs from the same place. Whatever the case, no matter where you decide to rent, be super careful that someone cannot get in, do not keep anything that you cannot replace in the storage unit, and visit it often so they know not to mess with the unit (if an inside job) also you would have a narrow window of when the crime occurred to give the police to pull the tape (if they have the resources) if/when needed. Also please note, they are not stealing things with serial numbers, they are taking things like high end clothes, jewelry, collectibles, tools, etc. Also, take pictures of EVERYTHING you put in there. Good luck and stay away from this place. read more

I had been searching for a storage unit to fit my particular needs (climate controlled, indoor, cost efficient) for some time before coming across this place. The price for a 5 x 10 couldnt be beat! It was easy to fill out everything online, and when I arrived, the manager was extraordinarily helpful, showing me how to access the building, locate my unit, change contact information, everything. I vouldnt have asked for a better experience. read more

This was my first time renting a storage unit. Four days into my rental. There was a power shortage for the building. Apparently the access system that all public storage facilities use has no back up meaning that if there's ever a power failure or a glitch or a bad update or anything that might possibly make the system crash you won't be able to access your belongings for 24 to 48 hours they will refund your money but that doesn't quite make up for the fact that you have no access to anything that you own that you decided to store with them. I would recommend looking for another brand of self storage because they were all have the same exact issue and they don't seem to plan to rectify it read more

We were moving from out of state and we're trying to find a storage unit to hold our stuff until our house was ready. We found this Public Storage to be a great value online. So we booked it. We packed our stuff in a POD and and moved. When we got to storage they weren't very helpful, didn't tell us there were carts we could use, didn't explain that you need punch in your 9 digit code to get in door every time and to use elevator every time. Pretty much want minimal to do with you. So I get up to 2nd floor and there is no map to tell you where your storage unit is located. I wandered around for 10 minutes trying to figure out numbering system so I could deduce where my unit is. I get shelving set up in unit and then go to front desk to tell them when my POD is scheduled to arrive. They inform me it is "Corporate Policy" to NOT allow any containers of any kind on property, period. Doesn't matter if it's for a few hours or a day. Wish that would have been in BOLD print everywhere when signing up. They told me to have my POD dropped at a transit center parking lot a few miles away and shuttle it to their facility. What?!?! What kind of advise is that, drop by bus station with dozens of homeless people around then rent a u-haul to move my stuff? Crazy how un-accommodating they are. So in short do NOT use any Public Storage if you are moving from out of state. What a hassle. Oh yeah we got a 10'x20' space which has a giant concrete beam on the side protruding into space. We got this size so it matched the 10'x20' POD which every square inch is packed. So now have to figure out what to do since we are going to be about 16 cubic feet less due to beam. Again was never mentioned by anyone. Very disappointed. read more

Horrible customer service. Management is not responsive or supportive. No call backs, just recorded lines and voicemails. Be aware, this place will not let you use any carts to transport your belongings after hours. They lock them up. You have to bring your own or carry your stuff by hand. They also do not have enough carts during business hours and won't buy anymore because they're "too expensive". Onsite staff not helpful. Store your stuff elsewhere!!! read more

the employees are not helpfull at all and don't care what situation your in i've got evicted and my wallet was stolen and i've already paid for my unit and they won't give me the key because i don't have a physical ID i have a printed ID and they won't even take that and i have all of my stuff in a moving van that i can't afford to keep another day . not a good place to have a storage unit read more
