Yikes I have never been there during a time when both of the elevators were functioning properly. I have been treated very unkindly by the staff on more than one occasion. My rent increased almost immediately by 40% with no explanation. I closed my account after my personal lock (which I had paid for myself) was destroyed, a secondary lock was placed on my unit, and they tried to charge me for that secondary lock. I found the destroyed lock inside of my unit. Heed others warnings and don't put anything valuable in here. read more

Public storage will lure in with a low introductory price and within months they will increase their price. Since having my unit, my rent has almost doubled. I will be taking my business elsewhere soon. Also the place is infested with mice. My sofa, loveseat and mattresses are all ruined and you cannot throw away anything in the dumpster onsite. read more

DO NOT STORE HERE! My things were only in storage for 2 months and there were mice droppings and urine on many of my things. Mice also ate the inside of my ottoman making it unusable. Their service is also terrible. I had asked weeks in advance if moving my things out on the 1st of the month would allow me not have to pay for the month of November. During my checkout process they told me that was not the case and charged me for the month even when their own employees told me this would not happen. I would give this place negative Stars but I can't. This place is filthy!!!! My stuff was there for 2 months and i hated that it was there. The place smells like mold when you walk in. The walls have mold all over them and it's so dirty. My stuff was slowly just getting ruined. We finally rented a truck to move our stuff and found rat dropping and urine ALL OVER OUR STUFF!!! This is a health hazard and they will not do anything about it. Rats were inside our boxes and peed inside the boxes and chewed through everything!!! I afraid to even look inside our boxes and find a rat. There was mold on our furniture. This place is gross. Don't waste your money. There are much nicer and clean facilities around. This is an update of my previous post. I have since closed my account and removed all my belongings from the unit. The location is infested with mice! I discovered that all my family's belongings have been ruined by either mice or rats. I have had to throw almost everything away including furniture. I have to start over and the mandatory insurance coverage that Public Storage made me get is useless and they told me it's not mandatory. The representative I spoke with told me the most I "could" get for everything that was ruined is $250. The manager I spoke with at Public Storage when I discovered all my stuff was damaged, told me to take lots of pictures. She told me to take close to 100 pictures, the more the better chance I have of getting the maximum payout of $5000. The insurance company, Orange Door(the insurance company) told me that is not true. I don't know what I'm going to do, not true. I know what I'm going to do. I'm posting video and pictures of the damage. Oh, and the video is of a mouse that was in the moving truck that I used to move my stuff from the unit! Yes, there were mice in the boxes as I moved them out! Yes, I had to move my things out because although it is Public Storage's fault, I was told that I had to remove all of my belongings from the unit or I would also be fined on top of having to pay thousands of dollars to replace everything that was damaged! read more

This facility is disgusting. I visited last week to rent a storage unit. I drove down the hill and was taken to the unit I was going to rent. There was a DEAD DECAYING MOUSE inside the unit! I walk down the steps to exit. The stairs stunk of urine. Smelled like the stairs in an NYC subway station. Then I look down ANOTHER DEAD MOUSE RIGHT BY MY FOOT while walking down. The associate, who was very nice, at that point turns to me and says "I guess you won't be renting here." Before leaving I asked why he didn't drive his car passed the gate like he asked me to do. His response was he and others often gets nails in their tires!!! smh read more

The people that work at this location are great this is directed at the corporate AHole douche bags that come up with their "policies". Charged me for a whole months rent even after I moved out! Beware they have a very stupid company wide policy, not just in Philadelphia. I moved out on 12/2 and they charged me for the whole month! All they say is "That's our policy". Yeah but that doesn't make it right! Your charging people for what they haven't used. If they were a decent company then their policies would reflect the ethical treatment of their customers. Treating people like crap and squeezing as much money out of them with zero regard for fairness or customer satisfaction is not a viable long term strategy. I will NEVER use this company in the future and will go out of my way to influence everyone else not to. Now was that worth an extra months rent? Being greedy and unethical and creating an army of unhappy customers is a sure way to lose in the long term. read more

My property's stay his facility was one of the worst experiences of my lifetime, and I am a senior citizen. Within two weeks after I first moved in, my locker, and about twenty others in the facility, were robbed. The next month they were robbed again. The steel door was bent and access was gained, and valuables were taken. Of course they have a long contract skillfully drafted by lawyers, disclaiming any responsibility for negligence or misconduct in any way, so the only recourse is to file an insurance claim, and pay the deductible. They have one of the most onerous an punitive contracts I've ever seen, allowing them to escape liability for anything they do that might affect your safety or the safety of your property. Then, after several months, the roof leaked and damaged much of my property. Again, the only resolution was an insurance claim, and another deductible payment. Finally, the water in the unit from the roof leak attracted mice, and the droppings destroyed even more of my property. All in all, I think my property would have been safer if left in my back yard covered with a tarp. And after you add in the insurance deductibles, the price is not that great. read more

Beware of this dirty, nasty disgusting place. The premises smell of urine and it is rat infested. I went to check on my belongings and it's rats droppings everywhere, mold on my chairs, and dead insects . Don't even bother filing a claim either because that is a waste of time. All my belongings are ruined and contaminated. The only thing the manager suggested was moving my belongings into a different unit. Then want to charge a full months rent if u move out after the 1st. Why would I pay a full month if I'm not staying the entire month. I told them keep the stuff, sell it if you want to. I turned in my lock and key. They turned around and put their own lock back on the unit and told me I would continue to be charged rent and if I didn't pay they would start the lien process. What am I supposed to do with mold and rat infested furniture. Thousands of dollars down the drain. This company needs to be shut down period, all they do is steal people's money and take advantage of you when you need a place to store your items. One of the worst experiences of my life has been dealing with Public storage. I had to hire a moving company to take all of my contaminated belongings to the dump and that cost me $350. Again more money I had to spend because this company takes no liability when renting at their facility. Total nightmare. Public storage is a scam!! read more

My stay here was a much shorter time, and a while back in the early 2000's but it was much the same. A gated center, a required lock and insurance, $1 first month, and we stayed a total of 3 months there to load/unload our things. I didn't think about flooding back then, but it's a good point from Raleigh. Customer service was fine when we signed up, but getting out proved to be more painstakingly long. It's a ways out of the way for me now, so probably wouldn't store here again, but there are better options that I've used around Philly since. read more

The people who helped us were very nice, helped us check in quickly and made the process very easy. The units appear to have good security with a fence that automatically locks after working hours and my unit is accessed from inside the building. Also the price was great. $1 for the first month and cheaper than most places around afterwards. I was there days after a very heavy rain storm that flooded center city Philadelphia, but the area around the storage building looked untouched. read more

I reserved a unit online. When I showed up to check in, the employees had the office door locked. I knocked and they told me they were on break and I was to come back in a half hour. IMO this was extremely rude. Don't ask your customers to wait outside in the cold while you stand around and do nothing. I went to All city storage instead and they were very helpful. read more

I got a storage unit here for the summer. Here are the problems: 1. The quoted price is only part of what you actually pay. There is minimum $9/month "required" insurance which is not disclosed until you sign your lease. Then you have to buy a $15 lock for your unit, again not disclosed until you sign the lease. 2. The facility is built in the floodplain of Cobbs Creek. Thus, I would definitely advise against getting a unit on the first floor. But mine is on the third floor, so I'm fine, except, 3. There are only two elevators for the building. And often only one is working. So you often have to wait a long time for the elevator. Then when you get it, you often have to carry all your stuff by hand, because they only have a couple of hand trucks that are in high demand. 4. Finally, the maintenance on this place isn't very good. I moved some stuff on Monday and there were shards of shattered glass all over the one working elevator. I returned on Wednesday and those shards of glass were still on the ground. read more

Went to empty and close unit because I will be renting a new home. The entire unit, estimated at $7,000, was completely ruined from water damage, mold and a severe rodent infestation. To add insult to injury, while my girlfriend was sitting there in tears, this "manager" tells us that we are also responsible for moving and dumping all of our damaged property to a location other than their facility. She lacked any sort of empathy whatsoever. She told me "shes not the mouse, what the f***", and called me names when the conversation got heated. When I mentioned calling the police, the manager said "I aint scared of no f***ing police, call em". I did call the police and file a report. I have 6 kids and we've lost 90% of our belongings. I recently moved what I had left out of this place. I rented a unit and my things were stolen and ruined. Apparently no one had access to my things, yet a brand new 32 in television was stolen out of the box. Like , literally they took the TV and left the box behind. years of tax returns, my laptop, change and financial records. All of my clothing had to be thrown away and other possessions due to mold. The storage facility is infested with mice and rats. The management and staff both lack empathy. When I asked for explanations I was repeatedly told that they didn't know what happened and to just file a insurance claim which was denied, These thieves thought I wasn't going to pay in time before they started the auction process and took what they wanted thinking they would get away with it. The staff turnover rate is high there so its no telling who took my things. Companies like this need to be closed. From the staff being very knowledge to the candid conversations. The three man were professional, upbeat and keep a smile on their faces the entire time of my sign up. INFESTED BY MICE! My storage space at this facility was infested by mice. All of my stuff was covered in mouse poop and piss. They built a nest in my mattress, destroying it. My couch was also ruined. I put traps in the space and killed three mice within a week. My neighbors said they also had mice in their space and that their relative with a space on the third floor had suffered major water damage. The mandatory insurance only covers $250 for vermin, which ends up being $150 after the deductible. Stay away from this place at all costs. It is not even a deal financially-they offer a $1 deal for the first month, which ends up being closer to $50 after all the extra fees, taxes and insurance. The customer service and security are nothing to brag about either. The gate hours are also terrible-9:30-6 during the weekdays, which means if you have a regular 9-5 job its near impossible to go to the space during the week. read more

I was in a true crap situation and had to immediately remove all my stuff from my apartment. I reserved a unit easily went by to check but wait to get it till the next day. The next day I realized I had more stuff and needed a bigger unit. The staff promptly showed me a bigger unit and got everything set up. It was easy for a short notice situation. The area is pretty clean and I feel great about leaving my stuff there. Affordable and friendly. Both the staff members were nice and non-judgmental. Do not store your belongings here! I stored my furniture here for a year and when I came to collect them they were covered in mold. I had to throw 90% of it away. The couches, anything with a cushion (chairs, bench), anything made with particle board (all dressers and furniture from IKEA), and anything made of wood (bookcases, sideboard, table) were ruined and needed to be thrown away. Anything made of plastic or metal was fine. I had insurance and it was suppose to cover up to $2000 (which is way less than what I paid to store the stuff) but the insurance company said that they would only cover up to $250 for fungus. I should have just given my furniture away instead of storing it, that would have been more cost effective. Mold seems to be a huge problem for this facility. Several other renters had the same problem when I was there (BTW, I had an inside unit on the first floor). On the positive side, the employees who work in the office there are very nice and helpful. read more
