    Inside storage unit, halfway done moving out!

    We used public storage a couple of years ago and I just came across the review card they gave us while cleaning out some old paperwork. An employee named Keith (not sure if he still works there) was very friendly and made the moving process so much easier, as we had never used a storage unit before. We needed a place to store our furniture in between moves, and everything was explained to us in detail & the storage unit was a perfect size for our things. You do have to bring/purchase your own lock, I believe ours was fairly cheap (Lowe's or 99c store) but you can pick a higher quality lock for extra security. We got the first month's rent free and only paid an additional month or two. We will definitely be back if we need another storage unit in the future!

    Horrible place to rent, make sure to keep the unit until end of month, or else they keep your money

It began with the deal Public Storage offers on their website to you if you commit online to a unit. They take 15% off your monthly rent for as long as you keep the unit, if you sign up online instead of waiting until you go to the facility. It is so much easier to do it that way, besides all the money you save! After you get there and check the unit out to make sure you like it, all you have to do is initial a few spots, sign and you are all done. Irene in the front office is amazing. She is super sweet, and has every answer to any question you can come up with regarding your new storage unit. She even bypassed some of her scheduled lunch time to make sure I was completely happy, and all bases were covered. She is smart and pleasant. I feel my things will be well guarded with Irene in charge. The rates were much less than I expected, even with the purchase of mandatory insurance, which is a monthly fee of a minimum of $9.00 up to $24.00 a month depending on the value of your possessions. I think mandatory insurance is a fantastic idea, as I have been a victim of theft and vandalism at a previous storage facility in Ventura, only to find out after the crime was committed that I was not covered by any insurance, which I believed was included in the monthly fees. The unit is easily accessible and they are open every single day until 9 pm. I am very happy with my choice!

    Received a surprise $65 increase in my monthly bill when autopay went through. No letter in advance…read moreletting me know of a rate increase. No email. No phone call. When I authorize an autopay, it's for the amount I EXPECT. This is an unacceptable business practice but I guess they think they can get away with it because of the high switching cost to go somewhere else. Oh and did I mention the rodent infestation? Yeah that's been fun to deal with. Mouse crap everywhere and the critters chew up your belongings as well. I strongly advise you seek a storage unit elsewhere.
