My initial review was that this place sucked because I we're going to charge me for a whole month for having nothing in my unit. But after contacting the head honchos this sorted everything out I'm pretty happy with the service overall I still wish that they would somehow keep the ants out but overall after everything was taken care of pretty nice place would I recommend yes. read more

After driving for over 12hrs...this person name "Anna" was totally RUDE & UNPROFESSIONAL. I did get answer after a moment of silence but she didn't seem happy to help me. There was nothing warm or fuzzy about this person. I asked to speak to a manager....and OMG with her sarcastic tone, stated she was the manager..So right then I just know I couldn't leave my things there & deal with her on a monthly basic. The way I see it, you get one lifetime to be the best person you can be. To make life for others as great as possible, and to enjoy it yourself. I just don't understand it when I come across people who are unkind, and in this case, unfriendly! And again after the 12hrs drive ...I left and found another storage place. read more

Ad and sign promise $1 first month rent. It doesn't specify it only applies to special spaces. At least it was only half price for the first month. Also need to note that insurance is required and additional. A 10x10 comes out to a little over $100 per month. The facility is clean and appears safe so far. Carts are available at the front gate and have to be unlocked to use, which is a bit difficult if you are in a rear building. Could be worse, but I assume some were stolen which required more security. read more

I have a disability can't drive and am currently not in best health. I asked my daughters dad to pick up my Christmas decorations. And Anna refused to let him into my storage facility and to top it off told him I had to be there with my photo ID... not possible as I am in the hospital. After calling her on the phone and than having to call the complaint service I learned all she had to do was tell him I could authorize him online instantaneously... instead I spent an hour calling all complaint lines and trying to get special Doctor approval to leave the hospital so my daughter could have her Christmas decorations... I have had this problem before with Anna as I had to have a friend drop a cash payment she refused to accept two months prior to this issue... Anna is only nice to her new customers and treats her 3 yrs and up customers like complete crap... she is so horrible that I am asking for early dismissal from the hospital just to find a new storage facility... read more

We currently have two units at this facility. We've been dealing mostly with Jodi who has been great and is very patient under pressure. Both Jodi and Anna have been very helpful. Location is convenient as well. Moving is stressful enough, and it's nice when you encounter those who make it a little less daunting. The experience here hasn't been all that great since we came here the first day. The stand in manager and the manager, Anna were both rude from the moment we walked in. First of all, it smells like a medical marijuana dispensary every time we walk in. No it wasn't the person that came in before us either. Our main issue here, besides the dispensary aroma and the poor customer service is, what is the deal with having the moving carts/totes locked up. In addition, if the carts have to remain on lockdown then there should be an employee available to assist customers during said office hours. When we finally found the manager Anna wandering around the property and asked for a cart she told us she would be back in a few minutes. During this time my husband was able to call the corporate office, the district office and we are writing this during the "few minutes" we waited for her. When we asked why they locked up the carts and had no one around to assist, she responded, "they are here for convenience". Really? Seems very inconvenient. Mandatory insurance is also inconvenient. Thank you for sharing that over the phone with your customers. Did I mention how inconvenient it is for someone who is handicapped and can't walk to get in and out of the car to enter the gate code. I Highly NOT storing any kind of Motor Home or Trailer there. I had been renting for over a year and have already been broken into Twice. Today I moved it out of there. I really don't know how anyone could have gotten in with all the Bob wire around it. That's why I'm thinking it's a inside job (JUST SAYING) We ask since we have 15 days left till the end of the month they will consider refunding us those days. But of course they will have to get back to us after they talk to corporate. We work so hard to have nice things for our Motor Home and to have someone come along and rip us off really PISSED ME OFF. I know we should have moved it the first time but we thought it would be safe considering they said they were going to install cameras witch they did in the front but come to find out they didn't in the back and wouldn't you know they stoled the back up camera on our rig. In the hole for over $1000.00 it's a hard lesson learned. So I hope this review is helpful to anyone thin twice don't make the costly mistake we did . read more

I have had to obtain a storage facility many times through out the past couple of years, a couple days ago was no different..... I needed a short term rental (again) and I only return to one place to do so. Public storage where Keith is at! He is VERY efficient, courteous and EXTREMELY knowledgeable. I always feel confident that when the need arises, I can go see Keith and my needs will be met with the utmost professionalism. I refer Public Storage (Keith) to all my friends and family. I made my storage reservation online and came into Public Storage to fill out paperwork the next day. Anna assisted me and was super pleasant/helpful. DO NOT store anything here. This place has been broken into 3 times in the last month. I had all my winter ski and snowboard gear stolen. Management is NOT helpful at all. 'No one was around. I wasn't working. I don't normally work at this location. Our camera was turned off.' Every excuse to not help the police. The officer told us this was their 3rd reported theft from this location. The units are separated by drywall only. The thieves cut a section out of the back of the unit from the storage unit adjacent to ours. Management went in after whoever leased it last saw the hole and patched it without even notifying us that we'd had our unit broken into. Horrible Horrible place. Please save yourself the aggravation and pain of lost stuff. DO NOT RENT HERE!!!!!!! read more

I have had my unit here at Public Storage for a long time. Of all the employees, Keith S. has been the only one who I feel has gone above and beyond with customer service, and customer satisfaction. He noticed over the video feed that I was struggling using the elevator..and one time the elevator wasn't working. He hopped in his cart and drove over to me to tell me that there was an issue. The other time he turns on the intercom to tell me to use another entrance. I mean, a couple years ago something similar happened while I was on the premise...and I couldn't find anyone to help! I highly recommend this storage facility...It has been very good to me! read more

I lost $1,200.00 in music equipment and there Orange Door Insurance Stated that they will not cover it a hidden deceptive thing called forced entry.  They do not tell you that or point that out they tell you 'OH your stuff is safe and insured Fire Flood and theft.  But they make 80 percent of the money you pay and around 10% goes for Claims that is true look at the URL above. Do some research on them. We are taking them to small claims court. but am looking in to a suit for deceptive practices.  By the way Orang Door Insurance is owned by Public Storage. That is how they get you they tell you that you need to have Orange Door Insurance but then not cover your stuff. RIP OFF Alert page too they are on there and a lot of complaints read more

Please do not rent here!!! Don't trust your belongings to this company!!! We rented a unit for 15 months and went to clear out our things only to find out that the unit had been burglarized and we had NO IDEA!!! When we asked about it the response was "We left you a message". Sorry, but "no, you didn't" that is not something we would forget. Plus, who leaves a message like "your unit was buglarized." What? Like it was as casual as an appointment reminder! Also, they wanted us to pay for the lock they placed on the unit. The burglary happened 3 months ago!!! And we had no idea. After speaking to the manager & listening to her "pre-recorded" answer to us, we asked if their policy required something in writing to us to notify us. She said "yes...let me look at your account. Oh, I didn't do it." In the end, we are glad we had such a boring storage unit that the criminal didn't really bother anything of consequence, but how this situation was handled is what is so upsetting. In a sense, when you store your things with a company, you are trusting them. Sure, they are "not responsible" but their response was SO TERRIBLE, that I would NEVER, EVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN. After contacting a higher up, we are at least getting refunded for the lock...woo-hoo. read more

Beware of termites. We have had a storage unit at this location for over three years. We returned to our unit after traveling for a year and found extensive termite eggs and live termites, as well as damage to our furniture. We had a unit with a wood roof in the A row near the office. The manager, Joey, and his team were helpful, apologetic and considerate and we were relocated to another unit after we cleaned everything and disposed of over $5,000 in damaged furniture (the termites got into all wood that was not painted or treated with a varnish/stain or that was softer wood). This is where things went wrong. We had purchased the Orange Door Insurance Policy through the office (Public Storage owns this company). We learned that termites were considered "vermin" under our policy, so we can only receive up to $250 in damage claims and there is a $100 deductible. Ridiculous, right? After all, the roof is made of exposed wood and plywood. I reached out to the regional manager. He was very nice, but after 3 months, offered no solution. In February I was able to reach his boss, and he has offered me no help. So after 6 months, no one has resolved the situation and we are being charged almost $300 a month for a unit that is 2/3 empty, as we lost all of our furniture. Unfortunately we are out of state and not able to move our items until the summer. I have waited 6 months to publish this review because I truly thought that Public Storage was a reputable company, who would back their product and do the right thing. Sadly, this has proven to be a very different story. I trusted this company with all of our belongings while we were out of state and they failed to keep our property safe. Honestly, this would of been forgivable, as it is an act of nature, however they have chosen to ignore my plea for help and not backed their product. I have copies of all original furniture receipts. Both managers have viewed the termites, damaged property and photographic evidence. Sadly, this company has not had the courtesy to even reply to my emails or voicemail messages for the last two months. All I asked was that they reimburse me for my lost furniture. No one has even confirmed that the property has been treated by pest control for termites. I write this to warn all of my Ventura friends. Ventura has been our home town for the last 13 years and I know many of you who rent space here. Please be careful. The property management is fabulous, however the corporation clearly does not care about its customers or our property. Since upper management does not want to address my concern, I encourage you to examine your space regularly and be very carefully with your insurance policy as I can verify for certain that this location had termites up until November 1, 2017. If you are not yet a customer and value your property, I would look elsewhere. read more

Public Storage pulled a Bait and Switch Pricing scheme on me. I made a "pre-reservation" (their term) for a storage locker at a special discount rate on their website, which the website said was good for a full month. When stopped in six days later, they had "deleted" the reservation & had no record of the rate. They pulled up the "deleted" reservation & offered it to me at a higher rate. They claimed they hadn't been able to reach me and that after a week, they deleted the reservation. When I told the guy it hadn't been a week & I called four times, but no one answered, he claimed my number was not in service. I played him the voicemail on speaker on my iPhone and I pointed out the reservation was good for another 3 weeks. Then he says, "Yeah, I heard the voicemail.", which he confirmed was a girl whose voice he recognized from Public Storage. He then repeated that my number was out of service and they couldn't meet their quoted and advertised rate. I guess he got so tangled up in lies, he couldn't even keep track of them. He didn't have an explanation for how my phone could be out-of-service if they left me a message on it. He was simply pathological. I can't imagine trusting my stuff to these people. read more

So today after having my personal belongings stored at this location. I stopped by to pick up 1 of my 30 pairs of original and retro collector Air Jordan's (a complete set with some duplicates pairs) all in new condition. I opened the door to my unit which was on the second floor inside the building that's take 2 passcodes and a key to get into. And everything was gone!!!! That's right gone!!!! Not only were every pair of shoes gone but an very Expensive Christiansen Arms AR-10 .308 with a equally expensive scope. Only shot one time. I couldn't believe my eyes. My heart dropped. So I went to the front desk and advised them of my situation. They walked up with me took a few pictures and we walked back down to office. They handed me a claims card to contact their insurance and dist. Mgr number and the number to the Ventura police dept. they said the was nothing else they can do and it's out of their hands that I need to to files police report and show proof of receipts for all my items and a description to prove that's what was stolen. Who has those things after all it took me 15 years of collecting these shoes and some can be sold for up to $2000 dollars a pair. I filed a police report with VPD and they obseved my unit. Lock wasn't cut the door didn't look to be tampered with but lock mechanism was a little loose. The unit was completely secured when I arrived at first. Weird right?! What thief brakes into a unit without braking or cutting a lock steals everything and makes sure to secure everything back up? Inside Job....?! Or maybe when they had some brake ins earlier in the year and found the customer that was doing it and evicted them. Why not, notify all customers to look at their units to make sure nothing else had been broken into since they had caught someone burglarizing other units. I would highly advise to look into somewhere else storing anything of value. read more

My number one question with fantastic customer service is how will it end? Anna is fantastic to begin with; she had my paperwork all ready to go when I came in and showed me the room to make sure it will suit my needs. I was very pleased with the move-in rate because I did not have much time to get my things into storage , needed an affordable approach in the beginning to storing them, and they made it as convenient as possible. Not only did they give me a leg up to begin with, but they hit a home run as far as solving the issue of having the things I could not bring picked up to be donated and ensure proper clearing of the space. Keith listened attentively to my billing concerns and provided me with logical answers. His follow up was flawless. We reached a wonderful compromise, and I will always remember their genuine hospitality. Also, I had every item back that I had stored. My things were completely safe and secure because as a responsible customer, I used a disk lock to store my things. Their method of security is perfect as is. read more
