This was my first time in a Publix. It was right across the street from my hotel. I had read about their "Pub Subs", and decided to get one for an early lunch one morning. I went with the fried chicken tender sub with lettuce and tomato. They had the full size on sale this week for $8.99. The sub itself was freaking delicious! They hack up those chicken tenders into little pieces and layer the bread with them. It was a great sub! Really impressed! I browsed around some other aisles for some snacks to bring back to the room. I noticed that they didn't really have too many "sale" items. I'm used to Kroger/Safeway where they have deals like 2 for $5.00 and such. Most stuff here seemed regular priced, which in todays world=expensive! I did pick up some pretzel nuggets and some popcorn I had not seen before. The store was nice and clean and looked super new (I know its new). Would this be my regular grocery store? Probably not. Would I come back for a sub and some snacks for the hotel? For sure! read more

This is the Publix that is closest to me but after today's visit I will never buy anything at this store I ordered online some cold cuts that where supposed to be ready by 9am but weren't ready until 11am. Sean, the guy at the deli had no idea if he was coming or going. Then when I went to pay, all the self check out spots are card only. STRIKE 3 - you're history BLOWN AWAY! Pharmacy department/pharmacist- Asian dude. Came to pick up prescription and was told, "We're backed up, it'll be ready after 5." Not ANOTHER PERSON 3pm - at the counter. Just me. I said, but there's no one here but me, please can I have my medicine?. "NO, we're backed up, I TOLD YOU." AJ was the previous pharmacist and he handled everyone with grace. Hollywood will miss him. I'm going to change pharmacies so I never have to deal with that little Napoleon again. Had to wait over an hour for my subs only to have them grabbed from under the oven and handed over the second I get pissed

Shopping was not a pleasure at this Publix. I wouldn't normally review a grocery store, but I hope their GM looks into their reviews. I've actually visited this location a handful of times and each time has been equally frustrating. First off, how do you run out of carts? Not only today, but on my last visit (which was a week day at 2pm) they had no carts available! Fortunately both times I was running in for a quick couple of items. So I solved this debacle by picking up a basket. I will also mention, there were no baskets available at the entrance. I had to go find one in the checkout line. Next, I'm all about convenience. That is why I usually grab one of the prepackaged deli meats that they pack the day of in the deli. Today they only had a supply of cheese...great, I love cheese. I however don't just eat cheese sandwiches. Last time there was no turkey, and forget about the line because the deli was more crowded than the dang parking lot! So i left without my lunch meat. Finally, there was a line at every register. I only had a few items so I opted for self check out. Self check out is supposed to be quicker, right? This experience involved a 10 minute wait. Since when are you allowed in self check out with a cart full of groceries? Anyway, I love Publix but I will go out of my way from now on. read more

This is one of the closest Publix to where I live. Ive always had a great experience with the staff here for years ! The only thing i am not too fond of is the plaza parking can get really crowded and you're forced to park further away. It is always clean and organized. Tonight Andy helped me send some money through western union it was my first time and he walked me through the whole process! I know he's probably been there for a decade. This location was my saving grace while my son was in the NICU right after birth and whenever I had to go to the hospital for my prenatal appointments while I was still pregnant. So you guys should already know what I'm going to say...the shelf space! I can always find what I need because they have the space to store it. It looks like an older Publix and by I mean that it has been there for some time but it doesn't look ancient like this other one I saw before. He found everything he needed on his own as I have been shopping for groceries for years . I knew he would find his favorites those delicious sweets. . This review is based on Publix bakery. Being a frequent shopper in this department, I have yet to have a complaint about the service or the scrumptious goodies on display here. I've tasted things like oatmeal raisin/chocolate chip cookies, varieties of donuts, pre-sliced cakes, crème cakes, made to order birthday cakes, cupcakes, pies, chicken/ham croquettes, empanadas, to even their freshly baked Cuban bread. With all that, I'm surprised I've stayed so slim. In my opinion, the products are always decadent, soft, moist, flavorful, and made fresh daily. The prices are always fair. The employees are friendly and will help you if needed. I will continue to purchase my bakery goodies from Publix only because I haven't tried any other bakeries yet...ooh, cheesecake! read more

This location is fine, pretty much everything is 5 stars here except the deli and especially prepared food sections. I waited nearly half an hour in line for the fried chicken, and I was only the 3rd person in line! There were 6 more behind me. There was ONE man working, and he was doing the best he can, but he was alone. He was preparing takeout boxed meals, cooking, and servicing. For every customer he served, he went and did 5 hotboxes, which no-one was interested in once they were out. This is just dismal. Who is your staff manager? Do these people have HR and business degrees or qualifications? Because the whole operation in there is a joke -- it's as if you have a high schooler run it all while being told "also, cut back on costs if you can". The whole experience was riddled by the obvious incompetence of whoever is managing and training these employees. It's poor training and allocation of resources. Reeks of totally unprofessional and inefficient management. There were 4 employees in the subs department, and only 2 customers in line there. When they finished with the line of sub customers, two of them came and started talking casually to the chicken guy, as he was frantically trying to get his head above water. Why wouldn't these deli employees be cross trained to help when their station is empty? Much less openly socialize, with both arms on her waist, and distract a struggling employee in-front of a building line of unsatisfied customers! She was there at least 10 minutes, and did nothing to help. The strips I wanted were already in the hot service station when I got there. I would have gotten them faster if I ordered them at a sit-down restaurant. When I got home -- surprise, they were cold and dried out. Just one of those sub employees could have taken over the to-go box lunches and let the man do his job and move the line. Numerous times Ive placed orders hours in advance to avoid the long bending line on lunch break and the order still isn't ready at the appropriate time. On this occasion, it's my final straw! Service at this Publix is abysmal. I come here because it is close to my workplace. Without exception, any time I have visited and tried to purchase hot food at the hot food counter, the staff walk away without acknowledging me or helping me. Even when there are no other customers. I then just opt for a cold sandwich. I won't be giving Publix my business anymore. Their prices aren't the lowest so the service should be there, but it's not. I am a frequent customer here, for work purposes and I t's conveniently located near Feeding South Florida. Quite literally, I spend thousands of dollars at this location that is usually neutral (occasionally helpful) when I roll up and down the aisles with an overflowing cart with basics like toilet paper, laundry detergent, dish soap, and other pantry staples for a handful of families that would struggle to purchase them for themselves. I used to do this awkward dance every Wednesday between 12:30 and 1:30. Now I come twice a month. Soon, never if I can avoid this store. I came last Wednesday with a coworker so I could make my trip shorter than usual. Nerissa, store manager, made absolute sure that I knew how unwelcome I was in her store. Let's start with a few things I heard, verbatim, come out of her mouth: "Don't leave these women alone." "Make sure you follow them." To my face, hand on my cart like she was going to take the whole thing away from me, "We need you to limit your intake, I don't have enough stock for you to be clearing my shelves." To note, I had picked up 12 laundry detergents, Publix brand, and more than that still remained on the shelf. (Also to be fair, I took 11 boxes of funfetti mix and that's all that was on the shelf) At this point, I asked her point blank, "What do you want me to put back?" And she helpfully responded "I don't know yet." A Publix associate was within eyesight of my 30 minute shopping trip, some of them familiar faces that have seen me in their store before. The manager stopped the cashier from ringing me up so she could tell me again that she needed to limit my intake. (No she couldn't tell me what I couldn't purchase, still) Finally, she consulted with an associate with a scanner who went through the four different types of items in my cart. Everything was fine, and I explained to her again that I do this almost weekly and she explained that this wasn't her normal shift (not a good excuse, because if she treats all her customers like this, this store is screwed). She made some comments about making orders in advance (which I've tried before and had been told that Publix isn't able to fulfill the quantities that I typically need). Nonetheless, she let us purchase but not a single associate offered to help me to my car. It was the worst part of my day, and I will remember this every time I walk into Publix. I love my local Publix! I normally am able to find everything with ease. However, when I was seeking Goldthread tonics I noticed that even though Publix itself carried it, my local Publix didn't. I was able to easily request them to bring a 6-pack to the local Publix with the help of the store manager, who was very welcoming, approachable and answered all my questions. Upon going to Publix to purchase my requested product, I was having difficulty finding it as it wasn't on their shelves, but it was in the store. Worst Publix ever! Check the expiration dates, they do a poor job of keeping expired goods off the shelves. This store doesn't carry a good variety and the items they do have are often not well stocked. The customer here are also a pain in the ass. Seriously, this store sucks. I can't tell you how many times I've shopped here and had people run into me with their carts, then gotten home to find the yogurts I bought expired weeks ago. This publix is pretty clean with great helpful staff. The produce is always fresh. Seafood could be much better but not bad. The sushi is always fresh and they will make to order if requested. Lines are never long and shelves are always stocked. The longest wait is for the subs which are always on point. read more

A good smaller location in Hollywood, Florida. It's in the back of a shopping plaza containing a Target right nearby, so it's not easy all the time finding it at first if you haven't been to the area before. Good selection of food and groceries, and customer service was good as well. Parking is almost never an issue even during crowded times. read more

The stock people on the floor are always so helpful and friendly, same with the deli staff. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for the some of the cashiers and the manager. This Publix has by far the worst customer service of any establishment I have ever been in. The customer service supervisor/manager is so very rude and unprofessional. This is NOT the first run in i have had with her. Cashier Amy was short with me when I asked her about a coupon. This is a customer service business. And I'm sure the founder of publix wanted employees that appear as nice as they are on the commercial. The only person in my entire experience in the store was a gentleman in the deli greeting everyone with a smile on his face.
