I was super impressed with this Publix. It's located near or in the Atlantic Beach area. (I'm a townie so I'm not quite sure of the beach boundary lines.) I visited in the morning and found tons of parking. It's a lot bigger than the one I go to in the Riverside area and had a lot of offer. The place was super clean and everyone was friendly. The only hiccup I experienced was the long lines at the cash registers when there were not a lot of patrons. read more

Wow. Normally I Love Publix and everything about it. I waited at the sandwich counter for over 15 minutes before I was even asked for help. Too busy with phone orders. Not acceptable. Have a designated phone order person or at least put in-person orders as priority. Atlantic beach location by Luckys. Bad. Another stop at the sandwich counter. Why do I do this to myself? Goes, You are SLOW dude. Everyone else back there seemed the same. Special people you have working here. Gotta remember to hit up Another Publix when this one is closest. read more

Great store, great location. This is one of new large box Publix stores, with a super pharmacy staff, helpful grocery staff and a great produce and bakery section. Parking is plentiful and selection is tremendous. Plus you get all the normal fun things that Publix does like free cookies and chicken wings for the kids, samples of recipes, BOGO weekly specials. I actual eschew a Publix near my neighborhood and drive over a bridge to use this particular Publix. One reason is the kindness and helpfulness of their Pharmacy staff and the other is the size of their produce section. read more

Yeah I like this store, it's a normal Public with the normal stuff. It gets busy on weekends so we tried to avoid it then. There were some empty spots on the shelves but they were doing their best to fill while other customers were still grabbing. They have a decent amount of gluten free packaged foods, they have an area all the way at the end near the peanut butter and jelly. I think the way those items are at the very end is a little strange but that's alright. Now that I know where things are, I don't have as much of a problem as I once did. read more

This is a clean, organized, and well-stocked Publix. The employees go out of their way to make sure you're having a pleasurable shopping experience.... There seems to always be someone cleaning, which doesn't happen enough at other grocery stores. They offer your typical grocery items at the typical Publix prices, but it's worth it to pay a little more for a more pleasurable experience. read more

I know it's weird to review a chain, but this place is such a delight I actually bring my friends and family here when they visit. It's a cultural experience. The store is always clean. People greet you with a smile. One time I had difficulty finding Bulgar Wheat and an employee walked the whole store looking for it. When we couldn't find it, I gave up and went to check out. This employee came running from across the store to give me the Bulgar Wheat. Another time I expressed regret about not being able to find these Ak-Mak crackers which I love. Another employee walked around the store, couldn't find them, so he put in a special order. Several days later he actually followed up with me to see if I got the crackers. That is service. A not so little secret, this place also has the BEST veggie subs around. Also, if you like saurkraut, this store carries the best brand,,, Bubbies. We got hooked on that stuff in NY, and couldn't find it ANYWHERE here in FL. I've been to other Publix, this one is my favorite. read more

The deli service at this location is terrible. Associates stand around doing nothing while customers wait at the counter. If you don't order your deli selections online, forget it. You'll be told "be right with you" while the staff talks among themselves. This deli staff needs some serious training or perhaps the customer service manager needs to find new people. read more

At 815 one sub station is already closed down. 5 people behind the counter doing closing duties with multiple people waiting in line. Not only for sandwiches but also wanting meat cut. Only one person is helping customers. The other employees have made eye contact with customers, but have not made any attempt to help. If the store closes at 10, why would half the deli be shut down by 8 o'clock? read more

Today is my birthday and I was not planning on getting a cake. I remembered I liked the chantilly cake from Publix and special ordered it (without raspberries) three days ago in person. Today I go to pick it up and whole raspberries were on the top. Which would have been ok because I could have picked them off but I was told raspberries were in the cake layers. The girl thought I just did not want the raspberry filling. No raspberries means no raspberries. They offered to remake it but I declined. I'm really disappointed they cannot follow directions. It's Publix, it automatically gets 4 stars just for their service, selection, and sometimes, deals. They also have delivery available through Instacart through this location. It seems crazy to have groceries delivered but is a nice time saver on days you have too much to do to make it to the store. I think I am also able to control my spending when shopping on my phone. read more

I'm a Publix shopper and am not going to change due to this bad experience, but here's some advice for Publix... You don't put your slowest sub maker in the deli on the 4th of July weekend. I waited in line for 17 minutes and I was only behind 1 person ordering 1 sub. Not to mention that when I placed my order they were out of the roll, meat, and cheese that I wanted. Publix sub? Publix is the best. I grew up in Miami but every Publix I go to has new wonders to behold. Decades before Whole Foods, Public stocked their spacious aisles with fresh ingredients of astounding variety. Every one of mg birthday parties and school events, I asked the adults involved in the planning to please get Publix cakes and/or cupcakes. Their batter and icing taste like no other, which is amazing, especially considering it's a supermarket. Moreover, their bakery changes to reflect the local population and their tastes. For instance, around Miami, they employ Cuban and Venezuelan bakers to make tasty Caribbean and South American baked goods. Here we are in Jacksonville Beach, miles and miles away, and my fiancée and I are ordering three subs for the two of us because we can't decide between the buffalo chicken sub (off-menu item but they'll make it for you) and the limited edition Waffle Chicken Tenders Sub. Why, oh why are their subs so good? And why do they accept returns without a receipt and why do they accept competitors' coupons? They are simply the best. It's one of the things I miss the most living far from home and I am so glad they are still going strong. read more

I like Publix. The pros? Their BOGOs are pretty awesome. Their stores are consistently clean and staff are friendly. The cons? Produce are not too fresh. This place in particular had strawberries that had mold. So, I couldn't just grab a container, but had to be careful in choosing one that didn't have mold. Publix used to be my go-to grocery store. Recently, I'd several bad experiences. For example, buying chestnuts and figuring out that they are all rotten. Buying chicken breasts and find out that, the day after, they are stinking awfully and impregnating the whole refrigerator. Checking the pizza dough in the bakery area refrigerator and figuring out that all of it rised already. Note that the expiration was perfectly ok. That brings me to the next issue: read the "sell by" date very carefully, the staff not always remove expired items. read more

I was 2nd in line at the deli. It was not busy at all. It took about 15 minutes just to have someone help me. I asked for a sub and they said it would take 10 minutes for the ingredients to be ready if I wanted to wait longer. The issue is they had 7 people working the deli counter. Some of them were helping customers but I counted 3 employees just doing what seemed to be random things instead of helping me at the sub counter. Will not be going back to this deli. read more

Every item is fresh, beautiful and delicious. A trip to the Publix deli should be on everyone's do do list at least once a week. The fried chicken is super tender, juicy, fried to perfection. Probably the best fried chicken on the planet, to be honest. If your not feeling the urge for deep fried deliciousness, you can always opt for a healthy salad, wrap, or gourmet sub. The options are enormous and there is something for everyone there to enjoy. Publix is home of the freebies! Which is my favorite part of any store. The list of freebies you can score is a large one. Free hot coffee 7am-7pm. Free health screening machine, Free weigh your self scale, Free cookies in the bakery, Free samples in the deli, Free sample of the Meal of the day, and Free recipes in every department. Publix is also well known for being very generous in giving back to the community. I could probably write a small book about all the charities they donate to help several good causes. Their deli service is absolutely horrendous. I work close to this Publix and occasionally stop in for a sub on my break and am always in shock of the abnormally slow service. Everything else about this Publix is satisfactory, but I cannot be more disappointed in their deli. The workers are not attentive to their line do not acknowledge the customers waiting until it is their turn. There is no reassuring "just a moment, please" or "thank you for waiting." Again, everything else about this Publix is ran as it should be with helpful workers and with attention to cleanliness. However, their deli is beyond piss-poor. read more
