This Publix is located at the center of the Westwinds of Boca and I was greeted by a smile from the customer service cashier upon entry. The store was visually clean and noticed the items in the aisles were tightly stocked which displays good management. Thats the thing with most Publix stores, the managers are "hands on". Had to pick up a cake for my birthday dinner quickly. Parking was a bit busy on a Thursday night, but not too bad. Walked in, found the bakery within eye distance to my right. Walked up to the cooler shelves and found the most beautifully decorated strawberry and peach cake!! Perfect for my birthday!! Most Publix do not have a cooler section to hrB a cake to ho, much less two sets of cooler cases!! I was very impressed!! I did not have to get the attention of a clerk to grab one behind a bakery case!! Quickly walked over to self checkout, scanned it, and paid within minutes!! This transaction took all of 6 minutes of my time!! The cake was a hit at my birthday and was delicious!! read more

This is my regular Publix that I visit just about every single time I go shopping. It's like half a mile from my house but even if it were further, I would still visit this Publix. The store itself is very large, always clean and has a great selection. Just with every Publix, there is a deli, bakery, And seafood section. But this Publix also has a nice prepared, food section and sub station, as well as a cheese section, salad and olive bar. They also have some bulk candies and nuts, a nice floral selection, and a pharmacy in this store. I've never had a problem with any of the groceries I bought being expired, or purchased spoiled meats or seafood. One occasion I did have a pretty nasty deli clerk, but I guess anyone could have a bad day! Overall a pleasant place to shop. read more

I was shopping at DSW (few stores down) so I decided to stop in for a few things. The store is spacious & very clean. I found everything without any issues & I was able to find a few extra things too, like my favorite shampoo! The cashier & the girl who bagged up my groceries were so sweet and cheerful that I was actually impressed. These young ladies made me laugh & were just awesome! I shopped in this store on a weekly basis, and I always cringed when I need something from the deli. Incredible inhospitable environment,especially if you are the only person in the line. One morning (8 am) I waited 15 min with 3 people talking in front of me in the deli, not even paying attention there is a customer waiting in front of them. Finally when they turned their back to me so I couldn't hear them, I left and got everything at Fresh Market. I was so excited to buy some Publix cookies. Their cookies top almost every other cookie brand. I bought 2 dozen and ate them as soon as I got in the car. I purchase two ground beef packages yesterday, immediately refrigerated for use for today. I opened both packages before lunch time; both had expiration dates for today. Upon opening packages they both reeked of rotten meat. I will NEVER shop in your stores again. Say goodbye to $300 weekly. And I'm calling the health department. read more

This is the worst Publix. Shelves are bare. They do not rotate stock. Since this "pandemic" there is no toilet paper on the shelves. The Publix on Palmetto and Powerline is the best. Shelves are stocked and they have toilet paper. Manager is extremely nice as well. read more

This is a huge Publix located at the center of a busy shopping center, plainly speaking. The store is quite spread out. It seems like they have a large selection of everything you may need, which is always a plus. However, this store is always busy (i.e. crowded) and I do feel like the service is a bit more impersonal here compared to some other Publix stores I've shopped at. This place is a zoo. 1000 entitled Boca-ites in their Lexuses with permanent turn signals on are taking aim at you as you drive, park, and walk. So beware. As for the Publix itself, it's a smaller store with a bit less on the selection. EDIT: I realized I kept checking in to the wrong Publix since the one on 441/Glades was never created on Yelp. So I created it and here is my review. Now I'm on to my Dukedom. It's not like my review is going to sway anyone to go here. Publix pretty much has a monopoly when it comes to grocery stores. I enjoy this Publix more so than the one down the street on Clint Moore. It doesn't has that smug feeling and I happen to think their selection is much bigger too. Publix usually gets hit up twice a week by me and on the weekends they do have great BOGO specials. Be careful though, not everything here is cheaper. You could buy many of the same items at Target for much less. For example, Quaker Instant Oatmeal is $1 less at Target. Your average cereals are anywhere between $1-1.50 cheaper at Target. Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream is $5 at Publix and $3.45 at Target. Horizon Organic Milk is $4 at Publix and $3 at Target. Of course, I sometimes question the freshness of some Target items but keep that in mind before you buy all your groceries at Publix. Publix offers great customer service too. They don't question anything and if there is ever a problem they subscribe to the "customer is always right" theory. I happen to think their bakery is outstanding and do as good of job if not better than most bakeries. I'd take Publix over "We Take The Cake" or "Doris" any day. Their deli is also fantastic. Let's not sleep on those Publix subs or ready-made meals like their chicken tenders. Publix is an outstanding choice when you aren't in the mood to go to Whole Foods, Fresh Market or one of those hipster places. Besides you don't have to refinance your house to do your Sunday shopping here either. This Publix is a fine choice and when you consider what West Boca used to have (Winn Dixie or Albertsons) you'll appreciate this place even more. Just be cognizant of some of their prices. read more

This is not the closest Publix store for me, but I happen to like the friendly staff and cleanliness as well. Thank you for creating this location to check into on Yelp ....Jason G. (back in 2012). I also like that they have most of what I seek and are willing to special order if they don't carry a particular item that I may have found elsewhere. There is always a friendly staff member available to assist in most aisles when needed and, they DON'T seem annoyed about being helpful. The cashier even pointed out that I had a BOGO offer that I didn't realize for an item and, told me to go get it while she had my groceries double bagged. It's publix. And it's my publix. The only place I grocery shop as I'm not a fan of the super centers to do my grocery shopping. I tend to find better deals here than anywhere else, especially with their true buy one get one free deals, which are surprisingly offered on common products. The service at publix is really second to none, always very polite and courteous staff. Always offering to help you, wether it's finding an item or helping you load your car. The bakery always has fresh cookies for the kids to snack on. Thank you Publix for being a great company, you have my business for life. read more

Other than pricey organics it's a great place to shop. We shop here at least once a week and are always satisfied with the service. The employees are friendly, helpful and really make it feel like your neighborhood grocery store. They'll even ask my wife about the kids on the rare occasions she escapes to shop alone. We do about 50% of our weekly shopping here, mostly just packaged goods because their organics are way overpriced. Unfortunately that's why they lose a star. The bakery is pretty good most of the time and they always have free cookies for the kids. Ordering from the deli is a breeze if you do it online, and the same thing with ordering hoagie, wraps or flatbread pizza (which are all delicious). The fried chicken fingers and Mac and cheese are pretty good too. A few times we were sold expired items but they always exchanged it without any hassle. These things happen. read more

I normally love this publix so it is in deep pain to write this negative review. I need to make it known by publix, so hopefully they can correct the issue. Whichever girl was working at the third customer service register from the exit door today at 6:20pm needs some serious customer service training. Not sure if she is new. If she has been working there awhile, she needs to be fired. She has no clue how to greet someone and clearly doesn't understand the rules of an entrance line and an exit line. I waited for 10 minutes while she looked at me many times while she was counting out her drawer. A man walks up to the exit line and she called him over and rang up his items. I just waited ten minutes being acknowledge for her to ignore me. I'm dumbfounded. When I asked her why she skipped me, she looked dumb and didn't have an answer. I looked at the customer and said. You know what you did was wrong with people standing in line. I walked out of the store. Super pissed. It was better for me to walk out the door than the screen at the customer service rep and the customer she helped. Rude!! Get a clue how to do your job!!! read more

Literally the worst run Publix deli that I have ever been to. It's on my way home, but any time I need the deli I go out of my way to the other Publix. Every time I make the mistake of stopping here im stuck for at least 15 minutes waiting. Normally that workshop be bad, but theres always people hanging out chatting it up and walking as slow as possible when there's a line of customers. It's awful. UGH. This is the most annoying publix to shop at! Aside from the horrendous parking, they're always out of the product you need. But the absolute WORST part is the online ordering. EVERY. SINGLE. Time I place an online order, it is NEVER ready on time. What's the point of having online ordering if it's not ready at the designated time? I'm not talking about being 5 minutes late or even 10, but I came to the store 20 minutes after the allotted time and it STILL wasn't ready. They weren't even making it. I'm sick of it. read more

Today, I had the pleasure of shopping at the Publix at Westwinds, which happens to be the third closest Publix to my home. I stopped here as it was on my way home from work and conviently located along my route home. Like the many Publix stores I have visited, this one has all of the Publix qualities I have come to expect over the years, like immaculate stores and a pleasant atmosphere with top-notch customer service and quality products. This Publix, which is the anchor of the Westwinds plaza along with a Home Depot and a DSW, is definitely a large store. When entering, if you turn right, you will find the deli and olive bar (not all Publix stores have this) along with cafe seating. Nearby, the dairy products are on one perimeter. To the left of the entry and the grocery aisles, you have a large and well-stocked produce section as well as the pharmacy. The many grocery aisles line the center of the store and in addition to regular items, have a wide selection of items like ethnic foods and foods for special diets like many gluten free items. Like other Publix stores, I find their regular prices to be moderate but not the cheapest with some excellent advertised and unadvertised sale prices available. In addition, I must also note that this Publix has one of the best kosher selections in the area, which comes in handy as while I don't keep kosher outside the house, I keep kosher at home. In the meat section, there are kosher meats available ranging from chicken breasts to hot dogs to stew meat. This also influenced my decision to stop at this Publix, as I was not near Costco or Glick's Kosher Market, where I usually buy kosher chicken breasts and I needed them in a pinch. Sadly, they did not receive a delivery of the Empire Kosher Chicken Breasts but maybe it was just my luck. I also find the customer service to be excellent here, including a gentleman who helped me in the butcher department to cashiers like Sophy, who helped me today as well as Rose, who helped me other times I have shopped here. If I were in the area, which is often, I would definitely stop at this Publix again. read more

This publix is okay. But the pharmacy technician here always ruins my experience. Everytime I visit the pharmacy to pick up meds for my children she seems to have a poor attitude and be somewhat rude. Today I went to pick up a script and she just pointed to the machine for my card and then walked off after dropping script on counter. Asked me no questions at all and didn't even wait around to see if my card was approved. She walked away and I had to grab my receipt from the counter after it fell off the machine. The person I'm describing is a short female with dark hair pulled back working at 815 pm on a Monday night. I don't think this employee exhibits Publix standard for service and as business owner I couldn't have this type of employee in a client facing position. Was just there 245pm on 10/21/19. Horrible service to the lady making sandwiches. The guy in front of me left after it took her literally 15 mins to cut his sandwich meat because she was having a full blown conversation with another worker in the back. Neither one of them not working at all but complaining about life. She comes back and looks at me and asks me where he went. I said he left. Then she starts complaining to me why it took her so long. I haven't said one word at this point. I tell her my order and she rolls her eyes and tells me she would have to go in the back and cut my meat just like he did with his before me. I changed my mind on meats and got a different one. At this point still have a conversation with the other woman and not paying attention put mustard on the wrong side of my sandwich. Again blaming me. If I told the wrong side(which I didn't) chalk it up to a miss understanding. Instead she was all upset at me. I can't stand this location in regards to whoever runs the deli. read more

Until they follow suit and install a self-check out lane, I will continue to frequent the other Publix on Palmetto Park Road. AFAIK, the only one in Boca to have one. Overall, their Fried Chicken Tenders are inedible. I literally gagged as I tried to force the bland food down my throat. How they have the nerve to serve this is beyond me?! Although their Cherry Pie fares better than Walmart. Having long used Dove For Men, recently tried their Sensitive Skin Bar Soap, and it smelled putrid. Living in the area for over 10 years I have used this Publix almost daily. The other week I purchased some lottery tickets and placed them in a Publix bag. I then returned to the customer service area to buy some dinner and the employee, who i will not name here, asked if that was all that I had to buy. When i said yes he accused me by stating "What about the stuff you put in the other bag?". Despite his accusatory tone I started to show him and he became aggressive to the point that I had to raise my voice and demand to speak with a manager. To make it worse i filed a complaint against the employee and have yet to get a call back from Publix. Instead I have received two generic emails from Publix service stating that they are backed up and that someone will get back with me within 2 business days. It has been a lot longer and still no contact. With a nice Fresh Market across the street and a revamped Winn Dixie on Powerline, I am rethinking my relationship with Publix as respects this location. read more

Truly the jack of all trades here. I don't feel that a one 5 star rating fits all for this Publix's but I will say overall I am more satisfied leaving here than when my girlfriend is when she leaves my place. This place is very clean and well organized. I enjoy frolicking down the isles seeking out the great opportunities for savings. I could enjoy a "pub sub" almost any day of the week and those chicken tenders are so so so tasty but no forgiving on the hips so be warned. The butcher and fish counter could be improved but overall achieve their purpose. The bakery will make you ahead tears of joy with the delicious pastries and breads. The staff is always happy and willing to lend a hand. Finally the wine section, which this post is sponsored by, has endless brands and an amazing selection from your cheapskate wines to your "I'm a sommelier" aficionado. We moved to West Boca in 1996 and we have shopped almost daily at the Westwinds store since it opened. They have had a huge turnover of employees especially the deli area in the last few years, very rude employees. I also butted in one day when a manager was being rude to a disabled employee for everyone to hear at the service desk. I asked him not to speak to the young man that way and then he went in on me saying "how was I being rude to him? Explain it to me." He was basically making fun of the disabled employee. I noticed a year ago they quit packaging 1 lb packages of ground beef, sirloin etc. the packages were padded 1.3 or 1.5 lb packages I am sure so they could sell more when every receipe known to man calls for 1 lb. Now I notice they aren't pricing the packages at all for ground turkey, ground chicken, ground sausage, etc. the price per lb is on the shelf but no price on the packages and no total price so you don't know exact price until you check out or do the math in your head. I also want to add that I really had to search yelp to find this store. When I searched for Publix near me and the westwinds store is closest this store didn't come up at all. I could only find it by searching with the shopping center name. I always loved the Publix stores, nice and clean, quality foods but I think I am going to drive a little further and go back to Winn Dixie or another store.
