It's a Walmart. We forgot a suitcase on our vacation so we needed a few items cheap! And quickly. Walmart made it happen.

Location is tricky the first time. Tucked back in the trees. Gas station on the lot. Have to go to the booth to pay... card readers are damaged. Store is handy for beach goers. Loaded with beach supplies and tourist options....location is perfect for this. Large grab and go for quick lunch items. Shelves are only stocked on the early morning. Popular items are not available later in the day. Lots of pickers for to go orders but they will not help you in any way to find items. The only way to get sliced meat is I. The prepackaged. The deli people do not slice it. Self service only checkouts. Half of them do not work. read more

It's always clean, staff is mostly friendly (there will always be a bad apple but overall everyone is very nice), it's stocked well (I almost never leave without what I went in for). Not your typical white knuckle wal mart experience, this location is pleasant and easy to navigate. read more

Now I am doing a lot of online with pick up and have had no problems, everyone has been friendly, professional except for one time when I was having trouble locating a product and he was rude and gave me the wrong information. Okay, my last review was a 1 star because of the absence of checkout clerks and all the broken self-service ones. But I'm bumping this, mylcal, Walmart up to a 3. Why? Because au have given their order online and pickup service and it is fantastic!! I don't know about other locations, because I've never tried it anywhere else, but these guys really have their act together. I simply shop on the the well done Walmart app, pay, and schedule a time to pick it up and boom. In a matter of minutes my completed order is placed in my car and I'm on my way, easy peasy. There's no fees or up charges and the super friendly people who load up my order can't even accept a tip. Deborah you are a joy by the way. Bottom line: The folks who pick the items, fulfilling the orders, and especially those who bring them out and put them in my vehicle are outstanding! Recommended! read more

Every time shopping here, people are always questioning. Am I saving money and truly living better & do they have low prices always. Customers usually find it pretty debatable between one register being open & there are lines longer than the DMV's with the wait time to boot. Some customers out there also question do they live up to their core values of excellence & do they deliver good service to the customer while respecting them & acting with integrity. It's fairly common, but I can't speak for the locations I've never patronized.     Coming here throughout the years for groceries or picking up products for various needs. Wal-Mart seems pretty handy as they've carried a decent selection for what I'm looking for. There'll be times when I have to go to another location (god forbid) or an actual hardware automotive or sporting stores for my needs. I would expect it all, but sadly not. The only thing that incentivizes me to come here is saving a dollar or 2 here & there. If they had the same prices as competitors on half the stuff here, I'd never come to this den of low price misery.      The store is ok & seems to be maintained well as I didn't see any problems with the floors furnishings or anything filthy for that matter. Their staff is satisfactory (like a 1/4th of wall worlds) & makes an effort to be as helpful as they can when asking about where a product is located. Just like every other Wal-Mart, they tend to only keep one lane open towards 9:30pm & it tends to be crowded & backed up for the rest of the night. If it wasn't for the fact that this Wal-Mart is only a mile from my house & has my favourite gas station (which I love) located here I could say that this Wal-Mart could remain hidden & I can just continue to drive to Foley. Walmart is pretty much what you'd expect. It's a one-stop shop for just about everything. However, the store can be hit or miss. Sometimes it's well-stocked and clean, but other times it feels a bit chaotic and the shelves are empty. Customer service is okay--nothing special. If you're looking for convenience it's worth a visit, but don't expect a top-tier shopping experience. read more

We were checking out and an old brunette with glasses and a nose ring (name unknown) She was very rude, I tried to give her my military ID to confirm my birthday and she looked at me very rudely. Then I gave her my water to scan and she said " you think all Walmart people are stupid" I never said that nor implied it. After that she continued scanning and when we added our baby gate on she yelled at us for it not standing up. She left and her supervisor came and finished scanning us. In my peripheral vision I saw the worker walking into the bathroom wiping her eyes. My wife did a grocery order two day in advance for 10-11am pickup. They missed our time and sent email saying our order was delayed, we said no problem and rescheduled for 5-6pm. 7pm it still wasn't ready so we cancelled and went to rouses to pick up our own groceries. read more

no checkout in the garden center. had to push a cart with all my mulch, plants, fertilizer through the entire store to check out. One customer said your bags are leaking liquid...........sorry, Walmart's problem. As a regular vacationer to the Panhandle, I decided to order groceries online to pick up when we arrived. Shockingly, there are NO eggs....yes, that is zero egg choices. Also, no choices for liquid half and half creamer.....none of my usual bread brands (Healthy Life or Sara Lee). What is going on? Is this a ploy to get me inside to hopefully purchase more? if you are renting an Airbnb or that type of accommodation for your stay in Gulf Shores, DO NOT use Walmart for a grocery delivery. They cancelled my order. Tge local Walmart there can't help because the order goes through Walmart.com before they get the order. In the past I've been very critical of the store and in general terms I still find it substandard in many ways. That said there are parts of it that are a stand out. And in particular the oil change group and specifically last night Jonathan and Jacob. I had put the court and a half of oil into my vehicle in the last day and I knew something was wrong so I quickly stopped about 6:35p to ask if they could see what the issue was as I felt it might be a loose oil filter or a bad CON and oil filter. Knowing that they were scheduled to go home very shortly I hesitated to ask but I had to. They happily agreed to take a look discovered that the people who change the all the previous time had forgotten to take the seal from the old oil filter off. They then tried to screw it on top of it. That of course is a recipe for disaster and my 6+ quart oil requirement and that engine was down to about 3 quarts and I had just put a quart and a half into it less than 15 minutes prior. Thankfully Jonathan and Jacob agreed to take care of it or I probably would've washed that engine completely on the way home. So in fairness well I'm not a fan of the major part of the store I am a major fan of their auto group. read more

Andrea the team leader, is the WORST. If i could give a negative review, i would. This lady has the worst attitude i have ever met. I called the store, asked if i could come in and return something. They said YES. I then got to the store, the lady at the refund counter was acting all confused, so she called the team leader. Who was even more confused. I went the first time and no buggies. There were two employees standing against the wall that said I could get one in the parking lot. there were 2 employees running all the self checkouts and no one else to be found. the shelves were empty and the place was in disarray. I placed an online order the next day to give it a second chance. When I picked up my order there out of stock items and many substitutions. I didn't get any of the substitutions and went inside to shop for myself. when I got inside the items I ordered were on the shelf. this store has by far the worst management I've encountered in a long time. There was man in the produce department who was busy and working. I have to this store off and on for 6 years. I dont know what has happened in the last year, but this is not a good place to spend money. Go somewhere else. read more

We got an alert that our pick up order was ready and drove straight there to get it. We waited over an hour before they loaded it into our vehicle. During our wait, we checked in online, called twice, kindly approached the workers asking if we could load it ourselves, and watched everyone around us come and go. By the time our frozen food made it to us, it was thawed out. The only upside is that we had quality family time playing catch in the parking lot while we waited. read more

The optometry department has ripped us off. They gave us great care at the time of ordering the glasses. Said we were good to go with insurance. But 5 months later when the bill came from Walmart for an additional $145 on top of the $131 I spent originally. I was appalled! Then they would not take a return for glasses. Don't shop here. BJ in electronics is awesome! Bought a new phone and called Straighttalk to transfer account to new phone. 6+ hours over 2 days frustrated us to the point of returning it. Called and were referring to BJ in electronics. Very calmly and quickly the problem was fixed! Hoping management appreciates his talent and pays him well.
