6/9/12 Had to buy a few essentials and found Publix to carry many, if not all, of what we needed! I was surprised to find organic products here: bananas, variety of apples, and lemons (but only on one small table/island), organic almonds among natural nuts on a shelf near the produce section, organic eggs, and even organic extra-virgin olive oil spray. Watch out for prices when checking out: my organic almonds were listed at $3.49 for 6 oz, but rang up at $5.49. When I went to get it corrected, I was given $5.49 back for the trouble! The store was clean, somewhat organized (I couldn't locate cooking oils for the longest time, bec. they weren't listed as such, and I decided to look for them in the condiments aisle, and voila!), and carried a great selection of almost everything you could need! Besides Publix' own environmentally-friendly brand Green-Wise products, there's even Seventh Generation cleaning agents, such as kitchen sprays, dish and clothes detergents. Friendly and helpful staff members are always nice to encounter, and you'll find them here. The natural food section even had its own designated clerk to assist me in my quest for specific products. read more

Came into this publix for the first time the other day and went to the deli to order a pub sub. A lady named Mary Anne helped me and was really patient and extremely nice and probably made one of the best pub subs I've ever had. Not only that, seeing how much of an exceptional publix employee she was made me think of how much i miss employment at Publix. A lot of people don't understand the steps publix makes to take care of their customers compared to every other grocery store. read more

Although I am thankful for having a nice clean store to come to with very nice employees, I'm pretty disappointed they are not requiring customers to wear masks in the store. There are so many people taking this pandemic lightly and this is why we are in our current situation. There is a sign at the door stating to wear a mask, but they do not enforce it. I was just there this morning and there were multiple people not wearing masks, two of them were coughing, and employees were just walking past them instead of offering them a mask. I just I think it's irresponsible on both parties. read more

Until a recent shift in management. As many people are fully aware, Todd Jones recently became the CEO of Publix. Many were ecstatic about the idea of a bagger who rose up in ranks to become the leader of a multi billion dollar company. Nobody questioned when Mr. Jones accepted a 56 PERCENT PAY INCREASE while finding ways to CUT associates inventory bonus from a variable pay to a fixed pay. (Ultimately cutting bonuses). I stood by accepting it as it increased my hourly pay by 45 cents. The Attendance Policy. Yes, I couldn't help but to bring this issue to attention. Publix Supermarkets takes pride in Punishing Associates for getting Sick. As a Supermarket, Publix is a central location for thousands of people. As a Deli Clerk, we exchange food constantly. It's only a matter of time before someone gets sick. Being 4 minutes late or missing up to 4 days in a 6 month period will result in a Counsoling Statement. (The equivalent of getting written up.) 6 days will result in Suspension. So, instead of risking loosing food on the table or not being able to pay for rent. Publix Associates will normally come to work sick. (Risking getting their Co workers or thousands of other people sick as well.) The recent cut in staff as well as condescending tones from management has over worked me as well as others to the point where my physical and mental health was deteriorating. My Co workers were irritable, tired, and upset with the work conditions. Only to be told "You don't have to work here if you don't like it." It flagged me to go ahead and submit my 2 weeks. Only to be further ridiculed to the point of simply leaving. On my way out today, I apologized to my customers and explained to them that I was leaving. I hugged my associates, informed my manager that I was leaving and not coming back, And left. Part of the Publix Mission Statement is to Show "Dignity to the Shareholders". Now, that I have no fear of loosing my job. I can tell you there is no dignity in Pushing your Department managers to find ways to cut staff to save a dime. There's nothing great about pushing more work to satisfy customers. Nothing is acceptable about a Store Manager and a Deli Manager grouping together and informing workers "if they don't like working here, go somewhere else." Without asking themselves "Why don't my associates enjoy working here anymore?" Publix is on of Fourtain 500 "Great Place to Work" due to the benefits that come with working for Publix. However, serious changes need to come in order for the Publix Team to become a Family. Bills' right, when there is almost nothing else open due to a hurricane, the Publix serves the public's needs. They do have a fine, though not outstanding selection of beer and wine. I would definitely skip any pre-cut packaged veggies, tasteless and stale. I should have know better from the beginning. read more

I love this Publix store. They have the usual great sandwiches, huge beer selection, surprisingly good produce, extensive beer and wine, reasonably good meats, and a great bakery. What I always enjoy is the beach stuff, like sunblocks and chairs and beach toys that you can't really find anywhere else. This place is just awesome for all of that and is staffed with the friendliest people in the world. Like, I want to hang out with them outside of their work type of friendly. The only negative I have here is the parking lot, which is often jam packed with cars. There are great stores in the parking lot and restaurants, and the only starbucks near the beach. So this is a busy area and the lot is not very large. Still, I look forward to a visit here. read more

Everyone who was working there was really friendly and helpful. They have everything you'll need, including all of your beachy needs. It seemed a little more expensive than a store more inland, but honestly I thought it was really reasonable considering it's basically the only one on the island near the beach. Certainly a lot less expensive to shop here for the week than going out! read more

I might get blasted for this, but this Publix is the worst. It's small and dingy. I'm so tired of getting food and vegetables that have already expired. I live in St. Augustine beach, but drive over to Cobblestine Publix because the beach one is so gross. I heard they've been wanting to expand and remodel, but apparently the city won't let them. I was pleasantly surprised to see this store has a pretty good supply of vegan options, not amazing but pretty good.

My husband had his COVID shots here and Sue who was taking names etc could not have been nicer and more helpful. They were quick and sunny efficient. read more

This is pretty much a "tourist Publix" and it's expensive. Do yourself a favor and drive one block south and go to the Winn Dixie. It's cheaper,friendlier and has ample parking. read more

I am giving this one star because the food is edible from the deli. This store is the most unorganized and crowded publix I have ever been in. During "lunch" time there are never enough registers open for the amount of people that like to shop or grab lunch during this time. My main concern is with the deli though. The staff seems more interested in getting the online orders out than with the customers standing in front of them. For example: yesterday I was in the store thinking I would grab lunch really fast and it ended up taking me 20 minutes before I was able to get to the deli counter and there were only 2 people in front of me! The woman that took my order was extremely rude to me. I asked her nicely to place the meat on the bottom of my bread and then stack the veggies on top because time after time at all Publix stores I have found the veggies smoosh out and all over me if they put the veggies between the folded meat. She looked at me and said "I make my sandwiches a very specific way". I was so shocked by this response that I allowed her to do her thing. And of course, I ended up with veggies that squished out. I was so displeased with the service I received yesterday that I will no longer shop at or recommend this Publix anymore. The employee that was working the deli counter at 12pm yesterday also needs to be taught the Publix standard of customer service because she certainly didn't show it. read more

I have shopped at Public locations all over Florida and Georgia (Englewood, Port Charlotte, St. Petersburg, Sarasota, West Palm Beach, Palm Beach, Lake Worth, Atlanta). This is my favorite Publix ever! They always have an above adequate staff. Their stock (despite high volume) is always full (if you don't see it ask). The level of service is high. The staff goes above and beyond reasonable expectation. There are always ample chairs, and baggers will help you unpack groceries from your cart. My wife and son are vegan. I am not. The produce section (organic and otherwise) is always well stocked and the staff is more than willing to make recommendations regarding produce. They have a wide selection of vegan items with many non-dairy alternatives (soy, almond, and other nut based products - including "cheez"). For all of us carnivores, the meat selection is well stocked and the butchers will provide upon request. read more

The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the manager was nice to us. But this was only after my mother and I went to the customer service desk to get help with a gift card purchased from there. We encountered a very unpleasant worker by the name of Mary-Catherine. She immediately showed no interest in helping us, was shaking with anger when we asked about a gift card, and eventually walked away to call someone else for help and along the way hit her leg saying "Oh my God" as if we were such an inconvenience. How crude. When she came back over to us we questioned why she was so angry at us and she yelled, with her mask down might I add, "Because I'm trying to explain this to you and you're not understanding." At this point everyone in Publix is starring at us because she was that loud. I'm sorry what?? We were appalled. When has Publix ever allowed such miserable people to work there, much less in customer service?? I see someone else wrote a review about her as well. So disgusting, I can't imagine how she treats other people who might not be as nice as we were. And I'm so sorry if you have to encounter Ms. Miserable-Mary-Catherine. read more

This is a well managed, well organized Publix. Staff & Management are kind & helpful, taking you to any produce you can't find. They help to make your shopping experience as efficient and pleasant as possible. Considering this store is located between St Augustine's beaches and historical down town area, and only a 5 min drive from most tourist locations and fine dining, this store seems to stay busy, well organized and managed. I highly recommend this store if your in the area. read more

Got ammonia poising from the VERY expensive fish - the disturbing part is that when I went back to the store to inform them that their fish is poisoning people the staff was only concerned with giving me a refund and said that it SOMETIMES HAPPENS!? I understand if something like this happens once but they should have been concerned that customers are being sold already decayed fish! Apparently they had seen the same dissatisfaction before, which is shocking to me that a business is allowed to operate while poisoning people at such a high price. Nice older store that was quite busy for a Saturday evening. Layout is different from most Publix stores but service was great and friendly like the rest. Enough staff available to guide you in the right direction. Even during a holiday weekend it appeared that they were holding true to their motto "Where Shopping is a Pleasure". It's obvious why Consumer Reports year after year rank Publix at our near the top in its ratings. read more

For the most part it is a clean and a we'll stocked store. I moved from Jacksonville a year ago and frequently shopped at the Atlantic Boulevard and sometimes the university location and in the Summer when I spend a month in Orlando. The staff are more consistent, friendly and helpful in Jacksonville/Orlando and seem have a more professional attitude. Though I am not pleased with the grumpy pouty (women) perhaps they are to good to work?? I still find that my continued hunger brings me back regardless of a less than desireable experience. I give the store a four stars out of five, staff as a whole 2 out of 5. read more

I have a little different perspective as I live here on the island. We exclusively shopped here when visiting, but now that I live here I don't visit this Publix quite so often. On the good side, the employees are the best, the store is clean and well stocked. However, it is physically a very small store and if there are more than a couple of customers in the Deli area, it is a wait for service in the middle of a traffic jam. I like space and the store is cramped with most of the aisles practically a one way street. The parking lot is small and cramped, I really don't care about parking close to the store, but getting around and finding any open space is often a challenge during normal business hours. Since I live on the south part of the island, I have discovered the "secret" store which is the Publix on A1A nearing Palm Coast. Even though it is a bit further for me, it is quicker to go south as there are no traffic lights or traffic. The store is small, but seldom crowded and I can be down and back in half the time. And I must admit, even though I prefer Publix to Winn Dixie, I go to the Winn Dixie in St. Augustine Beach during peak hours as they have greatly improved the store, it is spacious and clean and there's plenty of parking. I can be in and out quickly with little or no wait at the Deli. Again, this is not a negative knock on the Publix on the Beach as there is not any room for expansion and they have to deal with being crammed into that location and do the best they can. I love Publix and they are always my first choice if possible. But convenience and time are important to me and I find the other alternatives better. read more

Very disappointed in local publix in kings ridge. They do not offer any assistance for blind person who cannot find items in store or any online shopping option. I was told to try and find stock person in individual departments to assist me. I now do most shopping online through local walmart. So much for customer service. read more

Your paying for an experience in here. 30% more than Walmart any way you look at it, even with the 2 for 1. I know there are some scary people in Walmart but are beautiful people and a clean store worth 30%. The ad about them having lower prices only applies to 100 of 30,000 items. They move the prices and deals around to trick you and make money. They make a much bigger percentage profit on you than a car dealer. It adds up, just another way to look at it. read more
