    Take care

This has always been a nice Aldi and since they finished the renovations it's become even nicer. I believe they carry a little bit more variety, and are slightly better stocked, at this location than other locations in the general area. I always find something new to try or something that has come back again in the "Aldi Finds" area. I do have my "staples" that I get at Aldi as well. Especially since we used to live in Germany and can get certain items similar here at Aldi that we did there in Germany. It is nice to have the extras and/or more variety, but the prices on some things are higher than the other Aldi's...like milk is $2.26 a gallon instead of $1.99 at other locations for example. I have no idea why that is the case here, but no matter how you slice it...it's cheaper than Publix! It can sometimes be interesting to check out since the aisles don't line up with the checkout stations. I guess my pet peeve about this place is that you have folks waiting in line forever, then they really don't know which way to go when they are trying to check out. Some arrows on the floor would go a llloooonnnnggg way! Then when they are really busy, a new cashier will open and instead of making it a point to approach, or wave, someone over that has been waiting forever they just say they'll take the next person...and someone comes out of nowhere that hasn't been waiting...whoa! It upsets people, and the employees know what they are doing, did and can clearly see what is happening. Older and/or elderly folks that are not capable of zooming over there end up on the short end of the stick (for a lack of a better term). It's sad to watch (and if you say something...no results). They could definitely improve this process and be more compassionate. Other than this, the staff is normally pretty friendly and often the folks stocking the shelves will ask if you need help finding something or are readily available for questions. The parking lot can be interesting, but this is not the fault of Aldi since it's been there awhile. Be aware of the quirky one-ways at the end of the lot because "near misses" happen all the time. If you've never shopped at an Aldi, then please note you'll need to bring your own bags. They do have boxes available sometimes, but don't count on it. It's no problem to just use the cart to take things to your vehicle. You will also need a quarter to get a cart, then you get it back when you return the cart. (Yes, it's the same way in Europe, but they use a Euro coin.)

ALDI is a great alternative to the larger super market chains reasonably affordable. My go to place to shop for necessities. I like how they have the quarter cart system that saves money and keeps the parking lot clutter free. By not offering paper or plastic bags they lessen their carbon foot print. On the customer level I have changed my behavior to carry reusable cloth bags. On a good day you can find 80% of the food you are looking for. But it being a bulk discount store I often go to Publix down the road to purchase smaller quantity items. My cashier Kaitlyn was great answered all my questions and remembered my name. They close earlier then most grocery chains which makes it difficult come after work. This Aldi is a bit smaller then the Southside Blvd location which offers a larger selection of specialty items. Grocery shopping affordable and easy.

    A familiar face!

We love this store. Between the German goodies, great potato chips, amazing meats it's a no brainer.

You might see tractors roll up through out the day bringing fresh picked broccoli or cauliflower. The carrots and potatoes are also grown right here, berries are local; and more I'm not thinking of for sure. The flavor and quality of the produce will knock your socks off!! County Line makes me seem like a better chef than I am, because everything tastes so good!! The fruit - berries, citrus, mangoes, bananas, you name it! They have several refrigerator coolers as well, where you can get herbs and lettuces. There are some locally made goods as well, local honey, barbecue and hot sauces, etc. The people are knowledgeable, kind and wildly efficient. The most amazing thing is their prices. The cauliflower is at least twice as large as what's sold at the grocery store; it tastes ten times better, and costs half. I have doubled the amount of vegetables we're eating weekly for less than I would have spent at the grocery store, and it tastes so good! Driving out each weekend has become a little ritual for me. I slow down, enjoy the drive, select wholesome, fresh for the week, and most weeks I get to see one of the farmers there unloading fresh veggies from their tractor and I get to thank someone who is integral to feeding my family. I'm sad when my schedule occasionally doesn't permit me to go. Good to know: bring cash, they don't accept cards. There is an ATM onsite, but course there is always a fee for using standalone machines. Such a special place, I wish them everything good.

I've had some corn here that rivals my beloved and much missed Midwest sweet corn. The candy cane beets are a rare treat. From dill to blueberries to zucchini and yellow squash, it's all been so very good. Prices are reasonable, downright excellent considering the quality, freshness and light eco-footprint. Right now their hours are limited to Saturdays from 8-noon. There's plenty of stuff, but early is better if you're looking for something that's just coming in or on it's way out. I've ordered my first $20 basket for delivery next week. I'll update my review with pictures and impressions after I get it. All the folks working the place are friendly and helpful. They offer gloves and sanitizer at the start of the line to help out in these tricky times. Overall, this is a great spot to check out. You won't find everything you're looking for, but the stuff is fresh and it's a buy-local win.
