Publix Super Market is my hometown grocer so it's always nice to find one when traveling, this location was so familiar even though this was my first visit here. Although the address is Clark Road don't expect to find it without a little searching since it is located behind a few other businesses with only a small sign marking its location. This is a beautiful example of what Publix is and the staff here was very accommodating and friendly no wonder it was voted one of the best companies to work for. Publix is a great chain of grocery stores here in Florida, and this one was no exception. Great deli, bakery and prepared food areas. I stopped in for snacks for while I was in Sarasota, and also got some wine for late night sipping. Great selections! Everything is reasonably priced. Staff are friendly and helpful. Publix has become the leading name in the supermarket field here in the southeast. Once you experience a Publix supermarket yourself, I am confident that you will understand how Publix has become such an iconic supermarket brand and has developed such a loyal customer base down here in the southeast. Publix has created a solid reputation by offering incredible customer service, great BOGO (buy one, get one free) deals and we cannot forget their subs, which are affectionately known as "Pub Subs." Coming from New Jersey, a state known for their great subs, in a way it hurts me to state that a supermarket has some of the best subs in the area. But it is also a 100% true statement. Publix subs are very good. My go-to sub is probably their Italian sub, which is truly a tasty offering. I also enjoy their roast beef and cheese sub. I would definitely recommend upgrading it by using Boar's Head meat. It is definitely worth the small upcharge. It is great to see Publix expanding beyond the boundaries of their home state of Florida and spreading throughout the southeast. Not only am I happy about it, but I am confident that the communities that Publix opens a location in are very grateful for a Publix opening by them. I would definitely recommend this particular Publix location or any Publix location and I give it five stars. read more

THANK YOU YELP! My crazy 70-yr-old over eager spouse insisted leaving the safe clean condo w his sister in West Palm Beach to return today --day AFTER IRMA--i to his Sarasota bayside home. Yup, no gas , no stores, no electricity , no running water. Then he hung up to begin driving looking for gas. I quickly started with the police who transferred me to the Sarasota County hotline who stated , " Publix has a few generators on a few stores". I quickly looked on Yelp and found THIS Publix was OPEN‼‼ ...and a few gas stations nearby as well. (I live in Minnesota) My husband was so frozen w fear that his beloved condo ( parents' snow-bird -fr-NYC home for 40 years with tons of memories) was washed away or destroyed by the overnight surge. None of us in Minnesota could stop him this morning just hours after Irma went north. There was NO damage ......so so blessed, lucky.... He is now in an empty city with people still locked in their 8 evacuation centers ( police just told me if he needs them they won't come) With no food water or electricity‼‼ and live electrical wires on the ground. The Sarasota County Hotline (scgov.net) says' do not return until we give the all clear ". Even after 39 years! He still doesn't listen! THANK you Yelp for saving him today... ice, groceries, gas AND water ( just a couple of necessities!!!) Trying to save and protect a stubborn 70-year-old male 1000 miles away is nerve stressing‼ I never realized Yelp could be such essential help at a scary time. read more

Now that I live in California, I miss Publix more and more every day. Whenever I'm back home in SRQ, the first thing I do is ask if I can run by Publix and grab a chicken tender Pubsub. Those things are to die for. Honestly I didn't appreciate what I had growing up with Publix, because they make the best chicken (rotisserie and tender) out of any grocery chain I've been to. Their deli, their bakery, everything is just well priced and tastes so fresh. All about Publix name branded items. I really just miss Publix, y'all. The slowest checkout lines in Sarasota maybe the whole state. It usually takes me 5 minutes to get what I need and 10+ minutes to check out!!! 3/5/18 out of iced tea for 3 days!! Cmon publix!!! Stopped in the other day. Super friendly staff, like most Publix locations. Very small footprint but still had everything we needed. We overheard the assistant manager (recognized from her picture hanging up near the front of the store) as we walked through working in the back near the deli with staff asking them exactly what she could do to help them andseemed honestly interested in taking some direction from them (sounded much more like a leader than a manager!), and she took time to help me locate something when I had to walk back in since I realized I forgot it from my list. read more

A very large Publix with more than average produce section. The Publix itself is great, but you may want to consider using a GPS to get to the store because it is hidden behind the road. read more

Store very clean and well-stocked/maintained, inside. We like the digital coupons as well. The store does need to get a handle on all of the litter in and around the sed pond at the side of the store. It's probably not the store's responsibility to clean it but they could certainly do a better job emptying the trash receptacles at the front of the store...especially near that pond. Today that receptacle was full and over-flowing. read more
