I'll give five stars with one caveat: Saturday nights are hit-or-miss. We've been there on two Saturday nights since they opened. First one was amazing. We sat directly in front of the live band and had an awesome, leisurely late dinner and enjoyed the music. (Try the pecan cobbler - you won't be sorry.) The second time we were seated across the room from the stage (different band) and the servers had to use sign language and point at the menu to communicate with us. It's a small venue and the band is not the main attraction, so turning the volume down would have helped a lot. The food has been consistently excellent and we've had great service from the wait staff. Just be prepared to pay a cover charge on the weekends if there's live music. read more

The food is fair, but this is not the restaurant that Puckett's is known as. We were frequent customers at the Puckett's in franklin. The portion sizes were extraterrestrial! Just massive. And the prices were well worth it. But this 'boro restaurant is so disappointing we just have to stop coming. The price for chicken fried chicken was literally $1 cheaper here and half the portion as franklins. The breakfast is so-so. And the piggy-Mac was a smaller portion than what my daughter got on the kids menu. It wouldn't take much to make this the best eatery here in town but right now, it's not even close. read more

Eating outdoors on the historic square exceptionally executed interesting food with exceptional service from Heidi who is a absolute professional, friendly, efficient and extremely pleasant, who could have asked for more. We ordered the fried green tomatoes for an appetizer and it was perfect. 5 fried tomato slices over a generous portion of grits- it was very tasty! Walking up to pucketts my friends and I thought "Oh joy, another BBQ joint smack dab in the clogged heart of the south". Boy were we wrong. Once inside we were greeted with friendly smiles and the warm ambiance of neon lights and country music. Our server, KP welcomed us so promptly we hadn't even taken our jackets off yet. And she brought us our drinks so fast, I thought she was a witch conjuring things from thin air. Food was delicious and cooked to perfection, like it came out of Gods deep fryer. My wife and I loved this place when it first opened. We have noticed the past few times we have been let down somewhat. First I would highly recommend not ordering the brisket. Sometimes it is great but others it has been either over cooked or reheated in liquid and is more like roast than a BBQ brisket. I usually get their double cheeseburger with smoked gouda, but wait, they took the smoked gouda off the menu. My wife like the fried smoked Bologna sandwich, but wait, they took that one off the menu as well. Going back to the cheeseburger. They used to be one of the best in town. Now when it comes to the table it is always well done instead of the medium I order. The burger just does not have that good beefy flavor it once had in my opinion. We just moved to Murfreesboro and our realtor gave us a gift card and said we would love Pucketts. In 3 months we have been there 4 times. And he was right. We love it and plan to take our holiday guests there this week. Food is great. Our favorite is the chicken wings and I love the sliders and BBQ beef. My husband too loves it. Wait staff was excellent but the food was ok. We shared the sampler platter but only came with one chicken leg. Would recommend 2 pieces for sharing. Ribs were also over cooked and tough. I heard good things here and would like to come back again...1 ok time does not necessarily mean not to come back. Puckett's has quickly become our go to restaurant for family nights, or anytime we have a large group to accommodate. All the locations are great, but we particularly like the Murfreesboro location which has a huge dining area, lots of available street parking, and an ice cream shop attached. They have great live music, friendly service, and reasonable prices. The food is your typical BBQ and grill fare, but everything I've had has been consistent and delicious. Some favorites include the brisket nachos, Music City chicken sandwich, and any of the burgers. The beer and cocktail list is long and includes many local favorites. I'm looking forward to the continued development of downtown Murfreesboro and seeing Puckett's become an anchor restaurant. read more

Finally a quality restaurant in Murfreesboro!! For being a brand new restaurant they are doing it right. When you come here you have to try the Brisket Nachos! Service is great, especially considering how busy they are. It is so refreshing to see so many smiling faces. I wish I'd listened to the reviews I saw before coming but we decided to give this place another chance. We'd been last year and didn't have a great experience but we assumed it was just an off day. Today we came in and had a bad feeling within the first five minutes. Two tables were catching other waitresses asking if they could find their waiter. No one had food. One table was grumbling about not getting a check to leave. But we still stayed...About ten minutes after being seated, we got our waiter who had apparently not yet greeted two other tables before us that had been there a while. We ordered and then it took about 15 minutes to get our waters. Almost an hour later we got our food and it was extremely cold. We just ordered pancakes, eggs, and bacon. They'd probably sat in the kitchen 10 minutes or so after being prepped before being brought out based on the coldness. We only saw our waiter about 3 times in the hour and a half we were there. We walked to have our food microwaved since it was gross cold. Every other table around us seemed to be having a similar experience. We wish we'd walked out before the food came. I think this is it for us on this location. We liked the Pigeon Forge location, but twice in the last year, Murfreesboro location is slow with waiters that don't care and the food is nothing to get excited about. read more

My husband and I decided to have dinner at this establishment last Saturday night. It was about 8:30 pm and I was surprised to see how dead the restaurant was. They had live music playing by a talented musician. However, it was extremely loud for there to only be approximately 5 tables occupied at the time. We could barely hear our waitress, let alone each other. My husband was disappointed in the fact that he wanted pork barbecue and they were out, so he decided to go with brisket and mashed potatoes...only to be told they were also out of potatoes. I ordered the piggy Mac, which was very good. Overall, we will probably return to eat at Puckett's again, but hopefully, it will be a slightly better experience. read more

Service was great by Bryce but my reason for coming was dessert. I wanted the warm cookie and ice cream. Cookie was hard, cool, and looked nothing like picture. No whipped cream, no syrup. Two dud cookies and a scoop of ice cream. This is my third time getting it from this location. Other two times great. Guess who made it this terrible time... The Manager! He said that's how they said make it. I pointed out the picture on THEIR WEBSITE. He took it off my bill but seemed to be offended and bothered that I even said anything. We have eaten at all the Puckett locations and they all are excellent. The staff was courteous, efficient, and attentive to our needs. Thought we would have breakfast. I had the Country & Western omelette, it was scrumptious, but you must have a large appetite. It consists of smoked ham, peppers and cheese with a side of home fries. I've only been to the location in Nashville and have only had brunch. This stop we were in for lunch. I've rated the other location 5 stars, this one was a big upset. It took FOREVER to get our drinks and food. Soup was delivered with the meal. Brisket was very dry. More workers than customers.. They had over 10 servers (yes I counted) and not all tables were full. They had about 4 bus boys too. They were loud when cleaning a kept knocking over chairs. One even complained about food on the floor from a baby. We also asked for a outside table and they sat us inside. Two hostess and they couldn't comprehend the meaning of outside. If I could give zero stars I would. I waited tables for 11 years. If service is slow but the server is visibly busting their rear to keep up, then I can understand. Better yet, I can relate. But, the service I just received at this restaurant was ridiculous. I asked the bar tender if the open seat was taken, she said it wasn't so I took seat. It was almost ten minutes before the bar tender came back to ask if I wanted something to drink. I ordered my drink and minutes later I still hadn't received it. A young woman in a denim top (I assume a manager) asked if I had been helped. I told her I had but she went ahead and made my drink for me. I waited another ten minutes before the bar tender came back to ask if I was ready to order. I ordered and specifically asked if the salad could come out first. It did not. The bar tender said the salad bar was, "backed up" and that she didn't want my dinner to get cold. There was no two bite, two minute check-up. I had to ask the young woman in the denim top to see if my salad was ready, request a condiment, as well as a tea refill. The bar tender did come back eventually to see how dinner was. But, when I was finished with dinner, I put my plate at the end of the bar and set my debit card at the end as well. I sat there for over ten minutes (while the bar tender walked past me twice). I was beyond ready to go. I put on my coat and stood up. The bar tender came down to my end of the bar to chat with the couple next to me. I overheard that young woman and learned she also works at Puckett's. That must be why they had the manager wait on them, getting the drink order, drinks to them, and their dinner order all taken care of in the amount of time I had spent there, unacknowledged at the beginning of my experience. I guess it pays to be an employee. But, my advice would be to not allow employees to sit at the bar top, especially if they are going to get special treatment while outside customers get some of the worst service they've had in years. I stood there, coat and purse on, debit card directly under the bar tender's nose while she proceeded to chat with the employee that was dining. It took me asking her, "May I please leave" in order for her to recognize that I was finished with my meal and ready to go. I also want to point out that I ate my dinner with the dirty dishes of the guests who dined before me sat there, right next to my plate. To me, that's not ideal. Actually, it's pretty disgusting. I was not the only one upset with my experience this evening. The couple sitting on my other side ordered a dessert even before I had ordered my dinner. I received my dinner, consumed it and they still hadn't received their dessert. The woman had to ask the bar tender if their dessert was still coming. The couple and I expressed to each other how terrible the service was. The bar tender was kind but neglectful of her guests. Apparently five guests at the bar top was too many to handle. But, the employee next to me receiving perfect service didn't help the situation at all. All in all, the terrible experience took over an hour. That's without appetizers or desserts. I highly suggest to stay away from this place. Unless, you have a couple hours to spend at dinner and don't mind being neglected. read more

It's so nice to have Puckett's on the Murfreesboro square after enjoying the Franklin and downtown Nashville locations. I arrived around 12:30pm and was told there would be a 30 minute wait for a table, but it really only took about 10 minutes. I ordered one of the daily specials - pulled pork - along with green beans and squash casserole as sides. The pork was tender, flavorful and in abundance - more like three servings of meat. I love the country style green beans, and as they say in the South, no one ever complains the beans were cooked too long! I thought the squash casserole was good, not great. My version of squash casserole has cheese in it and is topped with crushed up crackers or some other kind of crunchy topping. This was squash cooked till very soft with onions - that's it. It wasn't bad - just not what I expected and I'll likely try a different side on a future visit. I also enjoyed the bread, which were corn cakes lightly seasoned with jalapenos, or some other kind of pepper. Just enough to set it apart from traditional corn bread. Our server was friendly but not gushy, efficient and helpful suggesting menu options. Our food came out in short amount of time, so it appears any issues since opening have been resolved. Located in the building where Three Brothers was, I'm pleased to have another restaurant that will continue to breathe life into our bustling little square. read more

We have eaten here several times since they opened. Staff has been great. When your server is busy, the other staff members come to pick up the slack, for refills, etc. The food has been great so far. Right now it's pretty dead and it's Labor Day we had an appetizer chicken fingers with fries $2 off so 6.99 for that was great! Don't waste your time or money!!! Went for Sunday brunch and will not be back.. they have a buffet on Sunday that's not on the menu and our waitress failed to tell us about. So after waiting for 45 minutes for our food it finally arrives and everything is burnt. All of our meat, biscuits and even eggs were burnt. If you can't cook eggs then you don't need to be in business. The pancakes were not burnt but were ice cold.
