    BLT

A local place we were not aware of was just the spot for our lunch adventure today. Specials and choices from their lunch menu were considered and I went with the BLT. Toasted white bread, mayo, fresh ripe tomatoes, six strips of crispy bacon and a half head of trimmed romaine lettuce, made this sandwich earn the ranking of the BEST BLT I have ever enjoyed!

    Wow indeed !!!

The theme " Super" from Sunday and that little Bowl game in Houston,Texas continues for me to " Marvelous Monday"!!!! I just experienced a Super, Amazing, Delicious and Huge breakfast & Super service and love at Pudgie's Cafe. A million thanks to my dear Yelp friend Stephen S who is a regular here and wrote an awesome review of this great gem tucked away just east of Federal Highway in a row of shops between a Marine life store and a window/blinds business on NE 16th Street. Perfect scenario as I had to bring my vehicle in for service to the dealer on W Sample Rd about a 9 minutes drive from Pudgie's. This is a very unassuming, quiet spot with parking spots in the front and maybe 6 counter seats and 4 small tables. I received a warm greeting from Manny, the owner/chef and the very sweet waitress Debbie. I sat at the counter and ordered a 3 egg omelete with vegetables, wheat toast and a side of bacon. It was an absolute treat to see Manny prepare and flip the omelette. Maybe " Super " size was the operative word as I was served this beautiful, sculpted, 12" by 4" masterpiece with spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes and onions that were cooked and sautéed just perfectly. It was hot, it was delicious, it was just right!!! The bacon was crisp and lovely!! The toast was hot and great with just the proper amount of butter on it!! Coffee was self serve. There was a lovely and relaxed vibe at Pudgie's as the regulars came in around 845-900 am and the phone for take out and delivery kept ringing. Loved it!!! I loved and devoured my eggs de resistance!! Absolutely loved the great service from Debbie. A regular seated next to meet the counter ordered the Eggs Benedict and they looked absolutely divine. I was in and out in 22 minutes( yes I am a fast eater who does forget sometimes to chew every bite 33 times) and this had to be one of the best breakfasts I have had in a long, long time. Eleven bucks for a SUPER three egg omelette, toast, side of bacon( 3 large strips) and bottomless coffee is a bargain!!!! There is nothing quiet about how I felt and am feeling right now!! I just want to yell out" I love Pudgie's Cafe!". Loved Pudgie's, loved my breakfast and loved Manny and his wonderful staff. How can I possibly top this at lunchtime????

A great place for great food with great value for money I eat here all the time However, every time I call in an order They don't start to make it until I get there otherwise 5 stars definitely The daily specials are amazing Highly recommended and very clean, even the bathrooms

A local tucked away neighborhood joint that serves up good home style food.. Breakfast is always good and they have daily fresh cooked specials for lunch.. Small place with 8 stools along the counter and 6 tables.. I had my usual at this establishment the Ham & Cheddar Cheese omelet with red potatoes and rye toast. The beverages are self-service so don't feel like your imposing going behind the counter to get your own soft drinks from the machine. The situation is the same for the coffee. Self-service. Don't be shy. Manny the cook is a character right out of a Saturday night live restaurant skit. He always has something to say and he takes his time cooking your food. You get it when you get it. He doesn't rush.. Worth checking out . I certainly will be back soon.

I'm in town visiting and I have demanded to come here every day. If I were going to the electric chair, my last meal would be four pudgie muffins.

A few small tables set against the wall and a few larger tables on the outside sidewalk. Doesn't look like much thought was placed on the design here. Service: Didn't wait at all for one of those small inside tables. My server was efficient and served my tea latte exactly as requested. Little things can often make the difference between a successful dining experience and not and here were a few of the small things that were provided that make a difference. I ordered the pancakes and my server suggested a side of scrambled eggs. The food: I received two pancakes which were well done, light and fluffy and the perfect size. I also received plenty of butter (so many places don't give you enough butter) an ample amount of steamed milk for my tea (another area that always seems to be pretty hard to get right). One thing that always drives me crazy was the fact that my scrambled eggs were served in the same dish as my pancakes. I hate this as the syrup inevitably gets to the eggs. Fortunately, I had a second small dish under my tea (which is also a great thing to get, to place my tea bag). I used this dish for my eggs. Another nice convenience was the mug for my tea which had a handle that I could actually put my fingers through (another area that restaurants fail to provide). In addition, I also ordered a side of sausage which came in patties form and was pretty tasty. The Bottom Line: As always my "customer so what" would I come back? The answer, probably. Although the ambiance was substandard, the food was good the service was as well so, it more than likely would be worth another visit on my next stop in town.

The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The environment is fun, and there are plenty of clever artifacts and photos to engage the eye. On to the food... we ordered the Southwest bowl and the lox bagel. As you can see from the pictures, the portions are sizable and the value for this area was decent. I think the total bill was around $30 for two entrées, a tea, and tip. The bowl has beans, tomatoes, avocado, potatoes, eggs, and cheese. It comes with a Mexican sauce and sour cream. We used a little of the sauce, as we found the dish a bit bland. Both eggs and black beans needed a little salt to enhance their flavors. While it was good, it was very soupy. The beans were not drained well, which I'm guessing--combined with the tomatoes--caused it. The lox bagel was beautiful but very hard to eat. The owners might want to consider dicing the tomatoes, onions, and cucumbers, as there's no way to eat this without deconstructing it. The salmon was good quality. Next time, I'd get a seasoned bagel instead of plain--it would probably be epic on an everything bagel. There are many other options for breakfast or lunch, and we would probably come back to try something different.
