You pick if you want grits, potatoes, or hash browns for the base. I picked hash browns with scrambled eggs. The flavor was very good. It has chicken and chicken sausage. I had a long drive ahead of me and needed coffee. They offer chocolate, caramel, and another flavor. I had caramel iced coffee. All the staff were very friendly. I came in on a Saturday morning and based on the reviews, I knew it would scratch the itch that I was looking for -- something cheesy greasy and delicious. I ordered their original skillet and their pumpkin spice scone, and the skillet and bacon were amazing. The eggs were cooked to perfection. The pumpkin scone. I didn't like all that much but it was still a nice end to the meal. Coffee was fresh and the servers were great and attentive. First time in to this Boca Breakfast/Lunch restaurant for a hearty Breakfast. Friendly staff and spacious interior with plenty of counter, table and booth seating. We chose a window booth and looked at all of the combination and specials. I went with the Two Egg, Bacon, Grits and biscuit special, (choice of biscuit, scones, muffin or toast). My eggs were perfectly done as per my request. Thick perfect crispy applewood bacon and yummy grits. The jams on the table were top notch, one of my favorites was the Blackberry. As we were eating I saw a large crow fish out one of the blackberry jams from one of the outside tables for his own breakfast. (The early bird gets the worm, but the Smart ones get delicious jam) Great choice brother crow! They close at 3pm and have closing specials the closer to closing time it gets. Overall a great experience with our service and food. One of the few times we haven't had to send something back to the kitchen for correction. read more

We might have been the youngest people here when we stopped by for lunch, except for the kids who were visiting their grandparents. But we still had a good experience. The restaurant is on the east side of the shopping center which is a quite busy place. There are a lot of businesses and other restaurants nearby. We were able to find a parking place right out front luckily. We were greeted on entering and taken to a table near the window. They also have some booths along one wall. In the other room, there's even a counter. The menu has both a breakfast side and a lunch side. All options were available. And on the table was a promo for a specially priced late lunch for those who come after 1 pm. My husband chose to have their two egg platter. He opted for grits, and a biscuit with well-done bacon. He said everything was good, although the biscuit was a little harder and drier than expected. He add a liberal amount of butter and blackberry jam to the biscuit. I chose their BLT sandwich on white toast. They had a half sandwich for a lesser price and as I wasn't that hungry, I went with the smaller portion. Crispy lettuce and ripe tomato slices along with wonderful thick bacon cooked well done. The bacon was excellent. And I had them put the mayo on the side. Along with a pickle spear, I elected to have a potato pancake. The pancake turned out to be hashbrowns with scallions formed into a patty and fried. I liked it anyway. We'd eaten once before at one of these Florida restaurants on the west coast of Florida, but it was quite some time ago. It's a small chain, but now that we've tried them again, I would look for other locations nearby. I wish Boca had more restaurants like Skillets - causal, welcoming, convenient. The interior is brightly lit and paneled with wood and filled with homey decor. Skillets fills the traditional breakfast/lunch space held by restaurants like Denny's and IHOP. I was welcomed straightaway and was thrilled to be offered a small pot of coffee. I ordered the bacon avocado omelet, which came with a side of fruit and a scone - more than enough for a meal. The fruit was fresh, but the omelet was overcooked, hence the three-star rating. Showed up on a raining day pretty much right as they opened, and just sitting inside helped warm us up. Our waiter helped us navigate the long menu and told us some of the most popular items. Everything was delicious and very fresh. The crepes were nice and light in flavor and paired perfectly with the fresh fruit. Their potatoes are interesting and made to be between a hash brown and mashed potatoes. It's definitely something to try, but it may not be everyone's favorite. On this visit I ordered the cranberry pecan waffle served with house made orange syrup along with a side of potatoes and bacon. The food is tasty and filling and reasonably priced. I once ate here with a vegetarian friend and it was easy for him to find something from their varied menu. If I went to another restaurant, I would most definitely be paying at least five dollars more than I pay here with portions that are half the size. This was our second visit, our server was Hunter and he was awesome! He had some really wonderful suggestions and made sure to notify my girlfriend and I who are gluten-free that certain items do have gluten in them, even if it may not be listed. This restaurant offers several options for people that have gluten intolerance but please be mindful, their gf products are cooked in the same machines as non gf so people with celiac's may want to steer clear. The restaurant itself is bright and cozy! I know that sounds counterintuitive, but the wooden walls and folksy decor make it feel like someone's kitchen rather than a restaurant. Skillets refreshed this location with a home sweet home country look. I've been in West Boca too long -- remembering this location's sports bar/beer bong daze and another breakfast joint which shuddered during COVID. This remains the perfect spot when you do early morning shopping and the breakfast craving hits. We both got the Smoked Salmon Benedict with a side of grits and cheese. My friend also got 3 pieces of bacon which we split -- thick and juicy. This was nicely sized and the hollandaise sauce was FIRE!! Next time I want to try the legendary skillets! Second Time: Shame on ME! I cannot account for the really awful food we just got through Door Dash. It was our second try with this restaurant, after a very poor first try. We ordered two eggs up, hash browns and toast. What could be easier? Both yolks were broken, the potatoes had been poached but had never seen the business end of a griddle (or, say, skillet) and there were two slices of what looked like whole wheat bread that nobody even attempted to make into toast. Impossible to say what happened, especially given the many good reviews the place has had. Delivery this bad is particularly enraging because you can't really send it back. Stopped in Skillets in Boca Raton while back visiting for a few days. I'm familiar with this area because I lived here for many years. When hearing a new breakfast place opened I had to try it. The first thing I noticed as I walked in was there's a lot of wood going on. Wood paneling on walls, wood tables & chairs, wood floors, wood booths and a wood counter/bar you can sit and eat at. (They describe it as pine-accented) As we were seated our server Hunter approached. He was extremely friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the menu. Any questions we had Hunter answered. I ordered the cranberry pecan waffle which came with homemade warm orange syrup, eggs and bacon. It was very good. The restaurant was spotless and everyone was friendly and courteous. As we were paying we met the manager of Skillets who was friendly and explained to us that Skillets is expanding to the east coast of florida. They originated in Naples, Florida. Big menu, new spot in Boca now open. Lots of breakfast and lunch choices including skillets! Homemade muffins and scones were delicious. There were three of us when we arrived and it was a short wait. Inside has a cabin like feel with a lot of tables and even a bar to sit at in front of the kitchen. We were seated in a back room filled with historic framed black and white photographs of Boca Raton that they got from the Boca Raton Historical Society. This room could probably be used for large groups or in our case, this is where they put all the families with kids. We ordered a skillet, omelette and a kid's quesadilla. All the items were good and plentiful. I especially liked the large print receipt that the server provided my old eyes. Payment can be made with the server or at the register. We were being rushed from the start despite being at about 25% occupancy. No real engagement from are you ready to order to drop the check and pay. Nothing will fix the corned beef hash. Not sure what to say about it other than to just throw away the recipe and process, and start over. Crispy, crunchy outside and cool, slimy inside, and overwhelmingly oniony. Was remarkably disgusting. Three of four pancakes served uncooked in the middle. Manager was nice and offered to recook only to bring the same food back out. He said the chef indicated they'd only come back out the same because of the made to order batter. Up charge for real maple syrup, which is fine. They pour it into another unlabeled container about the size of a shot glass, which we found odd.
