Does anyone else get the deformed 10th wing every single time for the past 10 years? I think this is how it works. 1. Take all broken deformed bones that should get tossed and put into a bucket. 2. I love Pudgie's Pizza and have my whole life but, lately, it's been terrible. The Vestal location, in particular, it absolutely NOT worth the money. The crust used to be thick and chewy and now, it's thinner than thin crust and crunchy. It will definitely be a long time before I order again. Seriously disappointing... If you are looking for better quality, order from the Binghamton location. At least Binghamton, the pizza actually stays in pizza form instead of flopping all over the place like some disgusting sauce-covered rag doll. Over the weekend my brother got married and 20 minutes before food was suppose to be served Anita Pizza cancelled on him. We called into Pudgies and asked them how fast they could whip together 10 sheet pizzas. We had the pizzas and were on our way back to the venue in under 30 minutes. They saved the day big time! Probably the worst pizza I've ever had. It was worse than the pizza they used to serve in the college dorm, which was obviously frozen and pre-prepared. The crust was thick and doughy, impossible to fully cook to a nice crisp. The sauce was thin and unappealing. It tasted like it was just tomatoes chopped up with some flower added to thicken it. The cheese was almost certainly pure mozzarella, with no parmesan to add the sharpness needed for good pizza cheese. On the whole, if you love pizza, stay away from Pudgie's. It just might ruin you for pizza forever. I'll see if Yelp lets me give them zero stars. Nope. I'm required to give them one star. read more

I love Pudgies, and have never met anyone who hates it. The food is great and the prices are reasonable. Their steak fries are delicious and I really like their chicken speidi salad. The staff is usually friendly and crack jokes with my friends and I whenever we come in (about 2-3x a month). It's a great place to hit up after the bars close or when you've got the munchies! Super friendly staff during our brief visit for lunch while we were in town for an appointment. We each got a couple of slices, including veggie, chicken gyro, pepperoni, and cheese pizza. Pudgies is one of those upstate NY places that never seems to leave you. I moved to the Boston area 7 years ago, but on every trip home, I have to get a slice of pizza or their wings. It is a taste that has not changed in over 30 years. The pizza is very doughy, but almost bread-like and if you like that sort of pizza it is delicious. It was typical to get a party park for any event with a sheet pizza and wings. Their wings are also unique, not typical Buffalo style, but a mix with BBQ sauce flavor. They are always large and cooked just right. (Sheet pizza is very hard to find in New England.) Their subs too are good, just as I remembered them as well, and the garlic knots again are very good and fresh. It is always fun to come back and taste your childhood. read more

One thing you will be surprised to miss, when not living near upstate NY, is Pudgies. It is hard to find in the western part of the states are the following items: Sheet pizza, meat sauce, and something similar to a Pudgie Burger, and a decent Stromboli. Good Pizza but not great. I do feel the place is a tad overrated. In all my experiences with pudgies (which is a lot, my girlfriend loves this place) the pizza was overly saucy which is fine if that's what you prefer but for me I prefer mine to be a little cheesier than saucy. I even went out of my way to ask for less sauce and it still came out drenched in sauce. With that being said I do enjoy their pizza but I prefer a more thin crust, cheesier pizza than a more doughy saucier one. Either way these are just minor complaints and only my opinion. This place is an upstate NY staple apparently. We wanted to try some new places while we were moving to NY. After having pizza at other places that cost an arm and a leg we went to Pudgies. This one was a sit down place. They had a relatively big parking lot and dining area. They are very helpful when we called to order a pizza for delivery. Once we got there we decided to eat and order a few more items. We ended up getting a pepperoni pizza, garlic parmesan chicken wings, and an order of fries. The pizza was pretty greasy but awesome. While I am originally from this area, I have lived in Nashville for quite a while. I can't remember if I had this pizza when I was young or not, but I would say so. I enjoy supporting local places. While visiting family we decided on pizza so I called and was going to order their "the works" the person on the other end gave me a total of over $36 for a large. I have traveled all over the country and have never EVER given that much money. Even at a place like Old Chicago or Mellow Mushroom. The pizza was mostly doughy and not very flavorful at all. I would rather buy a crappy $5 from Little Ceasars than give $25 for a pizza with nothing on it but pepperoni and sausage again. No flavor and high cost, I will not be back. read more

We ordered a pizza at 7:12 at night it's took an hour and half to receive the pizza and they delivered to the wrong address then finally delivered to correct address as the driver was laying on the horn at the end of the drive way! Our food was cold when we received it! NOOOO! Long story short, someone bought the original pudgies location and could not leave well enough alone. The up and moved it up on route 14, which does not bother me all that much since the other location was kind of dingy, though I can no longer walk there from my friends house. Good news, the wings have not changed, still huge and slathered in sauce. Bad news, I think they changed the pizza recipe or at least how they cook it! The dough used to be sooo buttery. On top of being a bit too crispy, I think the recipe has changed. The sauce and cheese tasted the same but it was the crust that set them apart. Now it just tastes like the other Pudgies franchises (I think one of them bought this one, which was a separate entity). The pizza is not bad, but not what it once was. Oh well. read more

Their pizza is so-so, way too saucy even when you order light sauce and the mushrooms are just gross. The food isn't what the real problem with pudgies is, the problem is the management. Last time I was there a manager named Matt was arguing with a female customer in front of me and eventually just walked off without solving the problem with her order. During that same visit he also loudly threatened one of his employees. I was absolutely disgusted! It is never ok to threaten anyone like that! If you do decided to order from here, be extra cautious. Make sure what you order is what you're paying for. They have charged me and my friends more than once for things we never ordered. I'm 100% that if I hadn't called them out on it, they would have just kept my money. It's safe to say that after my last visit, they will no longer have my business. read more

Grew up in the area and find myself craving Pudgies all of the time. Their pizza is the best. Living in Washington DC, I have the opportunity to eat at tons of pizza joints. However, nobody stacks up to Pudgies. My favorite is the sheet pizza. Its great even a day later! EVERYTIME I come home I always order a sheet pizza to at least take back to DC. My Mom still lives in Pine City so each time my sister and I come home our first and last stop is Pudgies. We went today for our last lunch. Very disappointing service. It seems Pudgies has forgotten the number1 rule. You are open because of customers, not in spite of customers. Service was slow.... we ordered Pizza(got that immediately, so my mom ate first). Twenty minutes later a burnt Pudgie Burger was delivered to our table. Waited 10 more minutes, and realized everyone around us was eating so I then went to find out where our small order of wings was. The cashier didn't say a word to me but turned away and went to ask about the wings. He came back and told me to sit back down they would bring them to my table. No apology whatsoever. Not only did we pay over $30 for this meal that we waited over 30 minutes for but we received NO apology. I do not ever post bad reviews Pudgies, you are my first.
