Service is great and food arrived super fast. The staff was amazing and friendly and checked on us often. Food tasted great and came out hot and fresh. Burrito Texano is a must try as it comes with all the fixings. Love the fresh corn tortillas in the tacos as it's the best I've ever had as it was flavorful and had the perfect texture. Our family of 5 was given the option of a 4-top booth with an end chair to get us in faster. Once seated, service was fast. I've been to the Pueblo Cantina in Jasper numerous times. This was my first time at the Ellijay location. Jorge kept the chips and salsa flowing. I love the salsa! It's not cilantro heavy or too spicy. It's just perfect. The shredded chicken taco salad was phenomenal! It was chalk full of shredded chicken, refried beans, lettuce, guacamole, tomatoes and cheese. The taco shell was crispy and delicious. My friend ordered the chicken fajita nachos and she really enjoyed that as well. She had it without the onions in case you're wondering the picture makes it look like it's missing something. The food was outstanding and our server, Jorge was tentative and timed everything perfectly. We enjoyed Mexican fried ice cream for dessert and it was phenomenal. I thought for $6 that it might be a little expensive but I didn't finish it and it was well presented and delicious. The dining room was clean and I love the set up because it keeps it festive but not overstimulating. The bathroom was a bit of a mess. Looked down before you said anything on the counter cause it's probably soaking wet. That's my only issue and it's minor compared to the dining experience. This is a solid restaurant. Very solid 4. I don't like onions and said that when I ordered and they said okay no problem but then the rice came and no one in the party had onions in theirs but for some reason mine had a few very large slices of onion. The guy said the rice is pre-mixed so they couldn't help it. Okay whatever. I removed the onions from the rice pretty easily and that was that. Had the big huge bowl thing with all the peppers and meats and it was solid. Only thing I would say is the chorizo/sausage I would DEFINITELY have it put on the side as it is very different in texture and taste. Drinks were good. Service was VERY efficient and especially on a packed night. We had tried to go to LongHorn across the street right before and LongHorn had a really long wait but there was no wait at all here which is awesome. Parking was very available. That bowl thing is huge and could probably be shared by two relatively hungry people. The other meals are pretty large as well. A Very Solid 4. read more

The food smelled good but it was nothing special. It was moderately busy but they seemed disorganized. There was 7 of us and nobody finished their food, tastes just weren't quite ok. The worst part, when I got home I began to get bad stomach cramps and sweats then threw up everything all night. Everybody else was fine, but my meal gave me food poisoning. I had the lunch chicken chimichanga and asked for it to be topped with queso instead of the red sauce. One of best chimichangas I have had. We are visiting from out of town and wanted to check out a local Mexican restaurant. We are from Florida so we've had our fair share of authentic Mexican cuisine. We were lucky enough to be served by Cantù and he was amazing. He brought refills before I was even finished with my water and when I asked for some limes on the side he swiftly got them. Best service I've had in a while! The food was incredible and I would recommend anyone in the area to stop by for some grub. My friend and I went to Pueblo Cantina Friday evening for the 1st time and had expected amazing food based on the reviews, but we were disappointed. The hostess sat us right by the noisy kitchen despite at least 4+ other tables. We had to ask to move. The next table was ok but the party next was extremely loud and we could hardly hear ourselves talking. The food was average - I usually get the chicken nachos the first time since that should be a basic no brainer to be good. The nachos were ok - minimal meat and minimal cheese sauce - the waiter, on his own, brought an additional small bowl of sauce. The waiter did give me a lot of jalapeños though. My friend ordered a combo meal and said it was average. There are other Mexican restaurants in the area that are as good as or better. read more
