Our VRBO recommended this place but it was awful. It was clean. But, we called ahead of time to find out if we could bring a dog to the patio. They said yes, but they did not tell us that we could not get alcohol outside. We were able to go inside with a service dog. We ordered two large margaritas that taste tasted like frost Gatorade's. I asked for something different and got a beer, but then was charged for the margarita. I asked him to take it off and he said he couldn't. We ordered two specials. Those were just OK. Very disappointed. I've never left a bad review anywhere but I feel like travelers should know. read more

UPDATE! This place has changed, and not for the better. They've updated the interior nicely. The food, however has gone downhill. The burrito in my combo plate was covered in Italian spaghetti sauce! In no way was this Mexican cuisine anymore, it's low end crap. The refried beans where white, not the usual light brown in color. The non-existent flavor was extremely disappointing. It's been over 4 years since we visited this place and we were looking forward to a nice, reasonably priced Mexican meal. They've changed their name from Monte Alban Mexican Restaurant to Monte Alban Mexican Grill. We've changed our opinion of the place from positive to never again. When I went to pay for our meal, the waiter had the gall to ask for a $20.00 tip on a $27.00 bill. Outrageous, unprofessional, uncalled for and enough for me to update my post. Food was average, service was quick and efficient. The 2 stars is for how they addressed a mistake on a dish they served. My wife is a vegetarian and cannot handle any meat in her food. She ordered a vegetarian fajita. The skillet of grilled veggies had a few pieces of chicken on it. Not good but not the end of the world. She pointed the issue out to the waiter who brought out the manager because he spoke little English. Manager, who was sitting in a booth watching TV the whole time, comes over to look at her plate and says "oh yeah, a few pieces of chicken. Why you don't like protein in your food? Some chicken is good for you". No apology, no offer to replace the plate nor any sort of sensitivity to why someone might not be eating meat. Poor customer service! Now, we get there are limited choices for Mexican food in this town and so people will still eat here. But let this be a warning for how much they value a guest's dietary concerns. I also wonder what really goes on in their kitchen. read more

Great service by a friendly server with a great sense of humor. Nice, spicy salsa. I also got the hot salsa which was a little too hot but I still ate bowl small bowls he brought me. I'm sure I'll pay in the morning when it's exiting my body. I ordered the chile verde pork and it was pretty good. The pork was much more tender than what I've received at other joints. No alcohol. Not sure why but not a biggie since I had to drive that windy 64 back home to Ooltewah. Making up for it now in my recliner. read more

Ordered food for my birthday today and can't eat dairy, so I ordered everything without cheese and multiple times I mentioned no cheese...and cheese was on and inside all food items. On a prior stay in Blue Ridge, my husband and I were craving Mexican food and happened to spot this place driving on the 515Hwy (old 76Hwy). It's open relatively late in comparison to the surrounding businesses, so it makes for a nice dinner stop (at least we were hoping). The restaurant is, I would say medium sized, it brightly colored and decorated which helps to make you feel welcomed almost homey. My husband and I were warmly greeted and quickly seated. The menu lists your typical Mexican dishes from enchiladas, to Chile rellenos and the like. My husband was in the mood for fajitas but the waitress recommended their twist on fajitas, which consisted of 3 flavored/seasoned meats. I ordered their spicy shrimp. Like most Mexican restaurant they serve chips and salsa. They have spicy salsa but you must ask for it. When the food came out it looked promising. But that's pretty much where the promise ends. My husband was not happy with his dish. It was bland and though the flavors wanted to burst through they were muted and subtle. My shrimp as anticipated were not very spicy. The sauce was tastier but it was a bit on the creamy side. Overall the service was friendly but the food was lacking. I don't think my husband and I will be visiting again. read more

For starter we have Chori Cheese Dip, (must try with the house chips) real good. The house chips will be better if they where warm and the sauce that comes with the chips is OK. I order the Tortas, and the rest of the party have Enchilada Supremas, Steak Ranchero and Bistec Mexicano. For us all was good, food came to the table hot and we ate just about all. The waiter was pleasant and ask if we wanted more chips with the meal to my surprise cause usually I have to ask the server for extra chips in other Mexicans Restaurants. Great Mexican place. Small Mexican man was our waiter, great customer service . He busted his butt to get us whatever we wanted and was honest about the menu. This place is great! The chips were served to us warm and fresh, with some kicking salsa. Our drinks were at our table in a few minutes. The rice is right on! The quesdilla is perfectly cooked. Every time that we finished a basket of chips, they came out with a new one. The food was warm. It was perfect. They have great vegetarian options. Our meals were filling and delightful. I've lived in Blue Ridge for two years and have my own set Mexican spot and I've never been here before. However, with COVID-19, I was expanding my horizons and came here with a little reluctance that it could match my other spot. I asked the server for a suggestion, and recommended the Crepa. Well, let's just say I went back the NEXT day for the same thing, then came back for another and also got the Al Pastor Tacos! (Who knew i would like Pineapples in my tacos! Literally, i was BLOWN AWAY at how good this food is!! Servers were awesome, friendly and happy that I enjoyed my food. Just what we wanted on a cold night in Blue Ridge as we checked into our cabin. Conveniently located with friendly employees and decent food. We were able to walk in on a Friday night without a wait and our food came out quickly, and the chips and salsa were refilled without asking. Drinks took a bit to be refilled, and the waitress didn't check on us after we began eating, but we all enjoyed our meals. Compared to other Mexican restaurant, I felt like the cheese and most of the food was really salty. Most of us got quesadillas, but we also go burritos and chalupas. The kids' cheese quesadilla was a huge portion, and the butter they used on the outside was overly salty, which made it hard for the little one to finish. Other than that, everything was great. In town for memorial day weekend and decided to stop by. Being Hispanic I was very disappointed !!! Food was tasteless, undercooked and worst of all NO MARGARITAS!! No music, No traditional Mexican drinks just fountain sodas and sweet tea. Chips were ok, Salsa wasnt spicy at all, Cheese dip was just off.
