Food was average, service was quick and efficient. The 2 stars is for how they addressed a mistake on a dish they served. My wife is a vegetarian and cannot handle any meat in her food. She ordered a vegetarian fajita. The skillet of grilled veggies had a few pieces of chicken on it. Not good but not the end of the world. She pointed the issue out to the waiter who brought out the manager because he spoke little English. Manager, who was sitting in a booth watching TV the whole time, comes over to look at her plate and says "oh yeah, a few pieces of chicken. Why you don't like protein in your food? Some chicken is good for you". No apology, no offer to replace the plate nor any sort of sensitivity to why someone might not be eating meat. Poor customer service! Now, we get there are limited choices for Mexican food in this town and so people will still eat here. But let this be a warning for how much they value a guest's dietary concerns. I also wonder what really goes on in their kitchen.

Great service, great team, and delicious food. Salsa was one of my favorites and I am so excited that the vegetarian fajitas were more than peppers and onions.

I have never had a bad experience at Monte Alban. There service is always quick and excellent. Their proportions are the best out of all the Mexican restaurants in Blue Ridge. The environment is always lively as well.

Great Mexican Food thanks to Monte!! It had no real reviews so we thought we would do it!! It was really good! We shared a Big Mans Combo! I am glad we shared too! Lots of wonderful food! Ground beef taco, chalupa, chile relleno, ground beef enchilada & ground beef burrito with rice and beans. All for $10.99! Salsa was really good! Staff was great too!!

Great Mexican food and friendly service. The enchiladas, quesadillas and tamales are awesome!

Consistently good food, friendly service. Everytime I've been here it's almost as of they only have one waiter, as I see the same guy running around doing the work of 3 people. They should hire more waitstaff, spreading people so thin leaves something to be desired for service.

Not only it was on my birthday in which we celebrated. But our excursion to the mountains for the long weekend was a fantastic time. As you can see through the pictures we really went all the way my dish was as abundance of seafood that you could have with an amazing cioppino sauce that was also soppable with crusty garlic bread. The beverages were on point, they have a great menu of bourbons. Will not disappoint. As a surprise they gave me a flourless chocolate Bundt cake to take home with a candle. Being with the family is always a warm unforgettable experience. There is something to be said about being surrounded by people who care and love so much. I'm in bliss. Until next time ...

For drinks, the Sweater Weather was the clear winner--well-balanced and thoughtfully crafted. The combination of Bulleit rye, La Pommiere Calvados, and sorghum created a smooth, seasonal cocktail with nice depth. The Properly Poached was decent but didn't quite impress in the same way; the Brugal Añejo, pear liqueur, dark wildflower honey, and pink salt made for an interesting profile, though it leaned a bit flat compared to the first cocktail. We started with the broiled sweet crab dip served fondue-style with pita chips, which was a great opener. It was warm, creamy, and rich, with good crab flavor that made it easy to keep going back for more. For entrées, the blackened mahi fish tacos were fresh and flavorful. The mango pico added a nice brightness, and the cilantro crema tied everything together nicely on the corn tortillas. The smash burger was another solid choice--juicy double patties with melted American cheese, crispy onion rings, house sauce, and house-made pickles that added a great tangy crunch. Service was ok waitress took a bit to bring the drinks and then the food took about 30+ minutes luckily we were entertained by talking to locals that we really weren't concerned. Overall, the restaurant delivers a pleasant upscale-casual dining experience with well-executed comfort favorites and creative cocktails. Definitely worth a visit, especially for the crab dip and the Sweater Weather cocktail and the fish tacos those were my overall favorites. Prices are mid range. Note that the restaurant as most restaurants in the Blue Ridge close early.

The gal behind the counter was very prompt and courteous and answered my questions about options on the menu. There is a big stove across the bar so you can see some of the cooking that gets done. The only issue with that is the heat...I didn't want my frosty beer glass to warm up while I enjoyed one of their local brews. I'd rather sit away from the cooking action. I ordered the crab cakes which came with coleslaw. The crab cakes had a nice sauce decorating the top of each cake. I asked for more because the crab cakes were a bit more bread filled than crab filled. I know I am spoiled with west coast Dungeness crab as you get a lot of chunks and not well flaked blue crab, but I really was hoping for more crab than I got for the money. The coleslaw was just okay. It was a nice mayo based dressing but lacked a tangy/sweet combo that I just adore. I am not impressed enough to return.

She was super sweet and took great care of us. We were celebrating something special and she made sure our night was memorable. They started us off with the bread, which was absolutely delicious. My friends and I came here for brunch during a visit to Blue Ridge. The ambiance and service were…read morereally wonderful and we were excited for our meal since it was a bit of a splurge for us. The food is the reason for the reduction in stars. We started with the shrimp and scallop fondue, which sounded so much better than it tasted, and the toasted bread it's served with was heavily salted and not enjoyable. My friends had the ribeye and said it was mediocre. I had the shrimp biscuit and only ate a few bites. The BBQ sauce was heavily salted and not pleasant, and the cheddar cheese just seemed like it didn't belong. As a cheese lover, this is the first time in over 60 decades that I've actually removed the cheese from a dish. I took the leftovers with me since I hate wasting food and ate the biscuit with some butter and the shrimp by themselves the next day. It still wasn't very good, but at least I didn't waste it. On the plus side, the cinnamon rolls were absolute delicious and were a bargain at $8 for six! They were the highlight of our meal. We also enjoyed the creme brûlée very much. Since the restaurant is pricey and so many of the dishes were a disappointment, we all agreed that we probably won't return to give it another try. We don't want to risk spending that much money again on a not-so-great meal.
