They still insisted all X-rays. For one tooth. I made sure they were covered by insurance and explained several times I could not afford. They called my insurance and said everything was completely covered. I went through the excruciating process (they have old equipment) only to be told the tooth I wanted the filling replaced was not as important as other work and they refused to do it. So, I left with a hole in my tooth. 7 months later I received a bill for $248. I called. Thy said insurance wouldn't pay. I explained they told me it was covered 7 months ago and what they put me through forcing me to get all the X-rays that I didn't even need. I was told they would take care of it. Forward another month and I received yet another bill. Again, for initial X-rays that were not needed, but covered by insurance. Now I'm being told insurance won't pay because I maxed my benefits elsewhere. I didn't use the benefits until several months later when I had an emergency. So, this dentists negligence on timely billing, on top of everything else, is being placed on me. I'm discussing it on a Facebook forum and have heard some things about this office. If you've been wronged by this dentist join us on facebook. Currently I am filing with BBB and consumer protection. Based on the dates, there is no excuse. They have an emergency number if you have a problem over the weekend or when they are closed. They aren't afraid to refer you for care if you need something they don't do. I'm typically seen within a few minutes of arrival. I'm very happy with the service I've had there.

I'm extremely disappointed with this office, especially after seeing the positive reviews. I'm a…read moremedical provider, and my sister is an experienced registered dental hygienist (RDH), so I'm familiar with routine preventive dental care. I'm young, have no major dental concerns, and consistently get cleanings every six months. I went in expecting a routine new-patient exam and cleaning. Instead, I was told I needed deep cleanings on three full quadrants plus a localized area, which is not consistent with my periodontal measurements and overall healthy bone levels. My upper arch had probing depths of only 4 mm at most, yet deep cleaning was recommended. On the lower arch, only 2-3 teeth had 5 mm pockets, yet full-quadrant deep cleaning was recommended rather than localized treatment. I was also concerned that my insurance would likely deny much of this treatment because I did not appear to meet the criteria, potentially leaving me responsible for the full cost. I was then presented with numerous additional charges for irrigation, bacterial decontamination, local anesthetic, oral hygiene instructions, and four intraoral photographs. These fees were not clearly explained to me beforehand. My RDH sister was particularly shocked by the separate charges for local anesthetic, intraoral photos, and oral hygiene instructions. She has years of experience in dentistry and told me she has never seen these services billed separately in this manner. What concerned me most was the impression that additional services were being recommended and billed beyond what I felt was necessary. I came in for a routine cleaning and left with a long list of expensive procedures--and I wasn't even given a routine cleaning that day after I requested one after deep cleaning was advised. I was also advised to return for cleanings every three months after completing the recommended deep cleanings. After reviewing everything with my sister, who has performed countless cleanings on myself and others throughout her career, her advice was simple: do not go back to this office. Afterward, I went back and read through the reviews and was surprised to find another young patient describing an experience very similar to mine, which made me even more concerned. Based on my experience and my sister's professional perspective, I strongly recommend getting a second opinion before agreeing to extensive treatment at this office. I left feeling that the focus was more on recommending additional procedures and maximizing insurance billing than on providing the honest, appropriate preventive care I came in for.

I confirmed and showed for my appointment. I was seated by the hygienist, when the doctor stepped into the room and said he wanted to speak with me. .. He asked me "Why are you here?" I politely answered his question. To complete my cleaning, and because your office owes me money. ( This immediately set him off.) He immediately argued the point, about owning me money. The next thing I know he is acting like a 10 year old and making uncalled for comments. I actually had to ask if he had ever looked at my medical history. By the look on his face, I knew he never had. (I.E. medical history and dental history are very closely intertwined) He proceeded to try to argue facts with me re: my account. I let him know he was uninformed of what was going on. ( unbeknownst to him, I had in my hands the insurance paperwork and treatment, and bank statements to review with billing personnel after appointment) He then proceeded to tell me several times that "I wasn't welcome there." Unceremoniously dismissed. LOL. I've been kicked out of better establishments. He was incredibly rude, and unprofessional. As a dentist who is injecting people with medications, it is very important to know your patients medical history and not be throwing juvenile insults them. For a dental provider you certainly are not aware of the impact or importance of the opinion you leave on the community and your patients. Which is really too bad, because as a ROOKIE you should be.

Warning: I spent over $6K for dental work and now I cannot use my teeth. This has been an absolute…read morenightmare of an experience that no one deserves to go through. I went in for a treatment (3 fillings, 3 crowns). I was sent home with 3 teeth that were twice their normal size and jagged. He drilled and filled my cavities, but "forgot" to shave/shape them. Pieces of filling were falling off in chunks in my mouth for the next 2 weeks. The office was not concerned unless it was my temp crowns that were falling apart. When I went back to have my permanent crowns put on (and his unfinished work completed), it was so painful removing the temporary crowns, he had to numb me. He never took any x-rays or looked any further into why I was in so much pain. He just shot me up with novocaine and cemented the permanent crowns on. I was told I could eat whatever I wanted, but my first meal came with excruciating pain. The crown was not placed correctly. It was much too long. I called the office, and they had me come back for a bite adjustment. I was told to give it two weeks, the pain won't go away immediately because I probably bruised the nerve. Three weeks later I called the office again, as the pain was no better. I was referred straight to an oral surgeon for a root canal without any further evaluation (after being told I did not need a root canal). There was zero compassion for the pain I was experiencing, or the malpractice that occurred in their office. I politely asked for a refund on the one tooth in the amount of $1,666 (since he refused to look at his work that was causing my pain). They refused to refund my money unless I came back in for an evaluation after they refused to evaluate the issue. I could eat anything I wanted to before I let this man touch my teeth, and now I cannot eat anything but soft foods. They let me suffer through the holidays like this. That's how much these people "care" about their patients. I have contacted my attorney, and we are pursuing legal action as a result of these personal injuries. Save yourself the hassle, and choose a different dentist. Please don't end up like me! My teeth are bigger on the right side than they are on the left now. I will be looking into veneers to cover up this embarrassing new look he gave me once I get my crown fixed. I had pretty teeth before I came here, so this is quite stressful and depressing. So let's begin with my first visit. I explained to the dentist about my anxiety. I explained how I…read morewas mistreated before and was afraid. He made me feel comfortable enough to go back. My next visit was a little more intense. The good thing was that the hygienist read my chart and helped with my anxiety. I was uncomfortable but she helped me through it. She asked me about anesthesia I told her I didn't want it. She told me that would be put in my chart. She was very understanding of my anxiety and helped me with it through the whole procedure. My third visit is when it started. This visit I saw the pareiodontist. This person and her assistant seemed very rushed. I tried to explain my anxiety but was unheard. She proceeded to inspect my mouth very rushed and unconcerned with my anxiety. She than told me my next visit she was going to cut me and remove three teeth. I told her I didn't understand because I'm feeling no pain and have no problems right now. She said that's what's going to happen and that she was coming back to speak with me more. I sat there for twenty minutes waiting. She never came back. Instead another person showed up and simply escorted me out. My next visit 08/04 I had called and canceled being cut and asked to speak with the dentist. When I spoke with him he understood my concerns and we came up with a different plan. He told me I was going back to the hygienist for a deep cleaning. I specifically asked at that point if I was going to see the hygienist I saw the first time because I had already established a relationship with her. I was told yes. I felt better and decided to go through with it. Which brings us to today. I arrived for my cleaning and it's a different hygienist than the one I requested. She obviously didn't read my chart. She had zero concern for my anxiety. She starts talking about taking my blood pressure for the anesthesia and wrapping my arm. Well at that point my anxiety spiked so high I was shaking. So I'm sitting there confused trying to explain everything and feeling ignored. She asked me if I wanted the procedure done at all or if I wanted to reschedule because my blood pressure was to high. I told her I wasn't sure if I wanted to come back at all. Another woman then comes in the room and wants me to make a decision. I ask who she is and she told me she was the manager. She begins to tell me that hygienists are different and do things different ways. So my question to this is why does everyone put things in my chart if nobody reads it. Shouldn't there be some kind of consistency when your using multiple people to deal with one patient. There is a reason for my anxiety being documented right? In my last review I showed concern and nobody even responded. So what am I supposed to at this point? Apparently the individual that has anxiety doesn't matter. Natalie, the dental hygienist, also did an excellent job with my cleaning. My concern is with the treatment recommendations I received during my August appointment. During my first examination, some of the dentist's findings were identified to me as cavities, and fillings were recommended. I was also advised that I needed two crowns on my front teeth. Something about the amount of recommended treatment did not feel right to me, so before proceeding, I decided to seek an independent professional second opinion from another dentist in Tucson. I am 73 years old and wear both upper and lower partial dentures. During my first visit, the recommendation for two crowns was discussed with me several times. However, at no point during those discussions do I recall the dentist mentioning that the crowns could potentially create fitting issues with my existing partials. During my second opinion, the dentist explained to me that the proposed crowns could interfere with the available space for my lower partial and potentially affect the fit of my partials. Another issue particularly concerned me after receiving the second opinion. An area that may have appeared to be a cavity was specifically pointed out by the second dentist as worn enamel associated with the clasp of my partial. During my first examination, I do not recall the term "worn enamel" being mentioned or any discussion about wear caused by the partial clasp. I only learned about the worn enamel and its apparent cause when the second dentist examined the area and explained it to me. I was also concerned by how quickly the financial side of the proposed treatment moved. Before I left the first office, a treatment estimate had already been prepared for me without my asking for one, and I declined to sign it. Based on what was explained to me at the time, I understood that my responsibility could have been approximately $1,100 to $2,000, depending upon how much of the proposed crowns and other treatment my insurance would cover. As a new patient, the process felt very fast to me. It had only been approximately six months since my previous dental visit, which was another reason I decided it would be wise to have the recommendations independently evaluated before agreeing to significant dental work. I am very glad I did. According to the second dentist's evaluation, the two crowns were not necessary, and I was advised that some of the proposed fillings were not needed. The treatment I am actually receiving has an overall cost of $586, including the amount covered by insurance. For me, the difference was significant--not only financially, but because the second evaluation also addressed the potential fitting issues involving my existing partials. What continues to concern me is the difference between the two evaluations. The two crowns had been discussed with me several times during my first visit, yet I do not recall any discussion about their potential effect on my partials. Likewise, I do not recall worn enamel or wear associated with the partial clasp being discussed with me. Both of those issues were brought to my attention during the second opinion. For most of my life, I tended to accept a dentist's recommendations without questioning them. This experience changed that for me. My recommendation to others is simple: when significant or expensive dental work is proposed--particularly crowns, extensive fillings, or treatment that could affect existing dental appliances--consider obtaining an independent second opinion before proceeding. As much as I liked and appreciated the staff, because of my overall experience and the concerns I was left with regarding the recommended treatment, I decided to leave this office and continue my dental care with another practice. After considering the amount of dental work originally proposed, how quickly the treatment estimate was presented to me, and what I subsequently learned from an independent second opinion, I was left feeling as though I was being upsold. That is my personal impression of the experience, and ultimately why I felt more comfortable continuing my dental care elsewhere.
