We have a ton of Mexican Restaurants in the Kingwood area, and we visit all of them for different reasons. But I wanted to tell you about a meal we had at Pueblo Viejo last night. We like this restaurant for its Margaritas; they are very tasty and strong here. Also, their tacos are good, and hubby loves their queso enchiladas. But last night I wasn't in the mood for Tex-Mex, so I ordered the De Luxe Cameron Botana. It was basically a shrimp boil with sausage, potatoes, and corn. It was delicious. It came with three dipping options. The shrimp were large, firm, and tasty! I was so surprised to get such a good shrimp boil for under $23! Do yourself a favor if you like shrimp and try it. And as always, the staff, and especially the manager, was so attentive. They take the time to make you feel at home. When we were without power in Beryl for over a week, we went there every day, and the manager made sure our phones were charged before we left! read more

True TexMex, I'll never go back to Chuy's cause it's too expensive.. and this place has a free ice cream machine(sometimes they have cones).. Delicious salsa and a full liquor bar ..I strongly recommend. they have another location in Cleveland.. read more

Used to be so awesome.... I have lived in the Porter area now since June 2020. We used to love this place. They survived the liberal government/liberal media shut down, and thrived after! We used to go at least 2-3 times a month. We skipped since Nov 2025 due to service & food quality slipping. 5 months later... Friday, April 24th, 2026, approx.. 8:30 pm: Decided to give them another try. Mistake! The place was DEAD at 8:30 PM on a Friday?!? NO one in the restaurant, NO one in the bar, the parking lot was empty! My meal, my staple, Texas Burrito, was NOT good. The seasoning was nasty! I ate less than 1/4. I brought this to the waitress's attention. She could care less!! When my check arrived, I said "you are charging me full price...?!!!" I asked for the manger. She came back SEVERAL minutes later to inform me... "The manager is tied up for now..." I said... The manager is "tied up?" Doing WHAT?? The place is DEAD as I looked around!! She left to "check". Went in on a Saturday during the day & Miguel was manager on Duty...Ashley was at the front desk...she answered when I called and was asking questions & she was so nice & friendly. Very pedestrian food. Nothing special. Ordered chicken Al carbon which is just pre-rolled fajitas. And if this is their fajitas I'm not impressed. The staff is wonderful but the food not so much. The margaritas were good but the chips and salsa meh. read more

GREAT SERVICE at the bar. Alexis waited on us and was wonderful! We sat in the new section and the temperature was a little warm. Complimentary chip and salsa was very good. Went here for a Christmas party and not only were they unprepared the food and drinks were terrible. The manager and waitress were Right during our party time trying to figure out who takes what table, etc. took 30 minutes to get a glass of water and one hour to get one drink. Had dried up nachos that were Literally stuck to the plate by the overheated beans on the nachos. Had 2 Margaritas and nachos and the total came out to 60.00 if you used a card. If you paid with cash it was less. Service fees came out to appx 13.00. Now IF the food and service was great no problem paying more for excellent service but that is not the case here. read more

We have been coming here since my first born was a baby. Had his birthday dinners here and the staff has become family. They hosted my baby shower for my second as well and took care of our party. We love the staff and managers and as they have watched our family grow, we have watched the restaurant and their families grow as well! Awesome food and awesome atmosphere! read more

Well, to start with, this used to be one of our favorite places to have Mexican food. Things have changed! We first noticed walking in, very few people on a Saturday at noon. Next came the menu, brand new. As we brous, the prices have gone up by 15-20%. (Ok I get it, inflation, supply chain....,) things have been removed from the menu (my favorite, carne guisada). So I tried the Birria taco, excellent! Great new addition to the menu. My husband ordered the tacos al carbon. I think we have gone back in time to the days of Emeril Lagasse! Pure GARLIC! Not good, never again! Then we like to play the guessing game before the check arrives, boy were we not prepared for this one! (See photo) $65 more or less! And to top it all off, they are passing the credit card fee on to their customers now! This meal would have been $40-$45 in the past. Yes he has a lot of food, but was it worth it? NO! Mmmmmm, was really disappointed at dinner just now. Coming here to Texas to visit I heard that this place had great food. Especially cheese burgers out of all things. Anytime I go to a Mexican restaurant I get Mexican food. But this one time I thought I'd try one of these cheese burgers. Very disappointed, but the steak fries were good. Everyone else ordered Mexican food and seemed to enjoy theres. Chips and salsa before the meal were good. Service was sub par, as it was hard for everyone to get a drink refill. We did get one, as we were getting ready to leave. But for the other 30 minutes we were empty. The place looked nice inside and seemed clean. There is a separate bar area, several tv's thru out and a place where you can make a free soft serve ice cream cone for dessert on the way out. If I were to go back I would skip the cheese burger and steak fries and stick with a Mexican plate of some kind. Also there is outdoor seating available. Since it was 96 degrees outside that wasn't even an option....lol.... With the high temperature out it was nice inside. read more

Margaritas were good . Food was average ... just normal typical Mexican food . Tortillas not homemade but reheated . Some of the food in the table was cold . Waiter had an attitude . I used to come here a long time ago and it was very good and affordable . We had 4 people with meal and margarita and bill was close to $200 and even sharing food . They have extra credit card fees that they dId NOT let us know about. I talked with manager about that, to let the customer know . .. if I had know I would have paid cash or debit card . I don't mind paying for good quality Mexican food like Gringos or Los Cucos for about $200 but not for this average food . Not coming back for sure !!! read more

The decor is nice. The waitress was impatient with us, though the other staff was pleasant. My patron margarita was pretty good, but my chicken blanco burrito was disappointing. The ingredients were only: grilled chicken, gorilla, cheese. Something was missing. The guacamole we ordered for the table was chunky and fresh, just the way I like it. So, overall l, a mixed bag. I was really disappointed. The food was pretty good -- and the menu is crazy extensive. The steak fajitas have the perfect amount of smoke flavor! But that comes at a price: service. It was, from start to finish, abysmal. We were seated quickly, then forgotten just as quickly. After a few minutes we tracked down someone at the counter and asked for a server. A server arrived, mumbled something about a shift change, and took our drink order. When that finally arrived, we had to ask for chips. Eventually we did get our order taken, and three did arrived in short order. Guess what didn't arrive? The check. The food might be decent but I can think of dozens of places with great food AND great service. read more

My wife ate here for lunch several times. Very good food, fresh and hot. CHips and salsa are also very good. I always get the fajitas. Service has always been good, and quick, even when they are full during lunch. Highly reccomended. Very nice place to eat. read more

I am hard pressed to even give one star. First, the good - pretty restaurant, reasonably clean, good chips and good sweet tea. Now, the not so good - walking in the door we were hit with a smell that was something like disinfectant covering up a sewage smell. It never went away. While we were there an employee mopped and the disinfectant smell got worse. The restaurant was not busy, but the service was slow and the food extremely bland (but hot). We finally had to go to the front to tell them what we had ordered due to our server never coming back. We won't give this restaurant a second chance. read more

Okay, the food is okay, certainly like a typical Mexican-food restaurant. But for me, that is where it ends. I refuse to support a restaurant that is so blatant with its overcharges. When I order quesadillas, I expect the order to include condiments, I.e., sour cream, pico or at least jalapeño, and possibly guacamole, especially if I am paying $16. But this place charges for jalapeños and for pico de gallo. Oh, but sour cream and a dab of guacamole come with. Really? Ridiculous. Also ridiculous is the blatant "cc fee" tacked on to your bill as a separate charge. Oh no, amigos y amigas, your food is no way worth the greed with which abuse your customers. Talk about biting the hands that feed You. And you've bitten me for the last time. read more

Great lunch! Free queso. Service is excellent. The interior has some plumbing problems that result in a rather smelly bathroom but it's always super clean and a great value. Patio is newly expanded and is DOG FRIENDLY! Recommend the margaritas and chicken poblano bowl especially. read more

Anyways they've bought me a complete wrong margarita, after I told him multiple times that it was not what I ordered, he completely ignored me and told me I should leave. This place is way over price for the quality of food that is served. Went here for the first time today for dinner and was pleased with the service and quickness that the food was served but it was not good. I ordered street tacos that came to over cooked, the meat was burned and was not enjoyable, I picked out what I could and tried to eat it and still was not a good taste. I felt like I could've eaten on the San Antonio river walk for the price that was paid. I would not recommend just for the price alone. read more

Kids drinks are not included with the meal and they charge $2.95 for a KIDS drink which is ridiculous. So $5.75 for kids meal PLUS $2.95 for a drink! That's $8.70 per kids meal.
