We came here on a Sunday night. It's a large place and we had no problem being seated right away. I liked that it wasn't too noisy and I could talk with my dining partner. There are not a lot of restaurants in the SF Bay Area that have ocean views. This is one of them. I like that they don't rely on their location to get business. The food is actually pretty good. Of course, it is always necessary to get a pisco sour. Our server was very nice and let us chat over a pisco or two before ordering. I really enjoyed my visit here. I will be back. read more

I think the food here overall is pretty solid and decent portion sizes, but there is definitely a premium price for that view. For that price, service wasn't rude, but it could've been better. Dishes were flavorful and authentic, we got the fried fish with a seafood sauce, some ceviche, and empanada trio to share. I was surprised i had to order a separate side of plantain chips for like $10 and that it didn't come with the ceviche. My main complaint is that the service was slow and it was difficult to flag someone down especially since they forgot one of our dishes. I had to tell two different people throughout the night before they finally put the order in again, near the end of our meal. Turns out they forgot to put it in, in the first place. The atmosphere is nice overall, I do love Pacifica, but I wouldn't come back here again given the service and prices, esp since we can get similar quality food and portions at more local smaller sf establishments at half the price. read more

Went with a hiking group, luckily our group organizer had made a reservation ahead of time. The place was busy, staff was friendly and responsive. Online the hours were listed as opening at 11am but they didn't open until 11:30am. Food was delicious! We started with the plantain chips, they come with a side of spicy aioli that was so good we asked for a second helping. I split the branzino with another in our group and I had plenty to eat. Food was tasty, but one of us has a shellfish allergy, and it turned out that very little of the menu could be made safe for her to eat. My friend and I split the Plaintains, squid ink pasta with seafood, and a pork dish, all of which was good. Allergic friend had a plate piled with veggies, and she said it was good. Service was fairly attentive, except that we had a fifth person join us late, and it would've been ideal if someone had come to take his order sooner. Drinks: I had an NA beer, which was nice, but one friend hated the white wine he ordered - if they'd had him taste it before bringing him a glass, that would've been better. My other friends had mojitos and said they didn't like the coconut rum, and would've preferred if it hadn't been flavored. Ambiance on a Sunday night was the same as I remembered when I went a year earlier - mostly groups eating near us, large TVs on the far wall showing soccer. One of my favorite spots along the coast and probably one of the best ocean views you can get from a restaurant in Pacifica! And a bonus that it's Peruvian food! I've made my way through a bit of the menu, but on a typical gloomy day in Pacifica, for me, nothing beats the aji de gallina. The ceviches and empanadas are unbeatable. I have been to Puerto 27 many times and the place does not disappoint. On our most recent visit we had fried yuca, classic ceviche ( white fish), and a Cesar Salad with beef. Everything was excellent and satisfying. We also took an order of empanadas de pollo to go and the no flour chocolate cake to go. Both delicious. Service was excellent. Great ambiance. It was early on a Friday afternoon before the evening crowds. I recommend Puerto 27 in Pacifica. The food is delicious. The hostess who seated us was terrible. I had a reservation for 5 children and 2 adults for an 11-year-old bday dinner. The hostess snapped at me, used a rude tone of voice, and glared at me when she told me our reservation had been cancelled & I showed her my text confirmation without any notice of cancellation. No one informed me until she treated me so rudely in front of the kids. She rolled her eyes at me and walked away. We stayed there. When she returned, she showed aggravation and annoyance in her body language and even stared down two of the kids who were only whispering to one another. We all ordered off the regular menu--no kids menus. We paid a lot of money and enjoyed every appetizer and entree. The hostess walked by our table multiple times and gave dirty looks at the kids who were well behaved and enjoying the food and company around the table. She should have left us alone. The kids asked me a few times, were they doing something wrong? Why is that lady from the front snarling at us when she comes by? The kids had very good etiquette. What a phenomenal surprise. Being on the same property as a hotel, our expectations were tempered. There during Happy Hour, we had the ceviche, empanadas, and a couple of Pisco Sours -- the house cocktail (a fizzy whiskey sour type of drink that might be my new favorite). Everything was top notch. We followed with a side of Plantain Fritos (a little sneaky that they're noted as the right complement to the ceviche though not on the HH menu. No big deal because they were worth it. I find no pleasure in writing this review about my experience last night at Puerto 27. After receiving my drink last night I noticed a crack in the glass and headed to the bar for a new drink. Not a big deal. Once the bar tender angrily approached me asking me what I needed, I showed him the glass. Instead of an apology and a new drink he said "GO BACK TO YOUR TABLE AND WAIT FOR YOUR SERVER!"whilst aggressively shooing me away! And clearly angry! To say my dinner was ruined would be an understatement! Never in all of my years of dining have I been spoken to or treated this way! Had a wonderful lunch here for my niece's birthday! The best thing we had was the grilled octopus. It may be the best octopus I've had, perfectly cooked with an excellent char 10/10. The group loved the crispy fried whole branzino 9/10. Fried plantains were standard but still great 8/10. Ceviche was fresh with loads of fish and shrimp and paired with plantain chips 8.5/10. Chicharron de Pollo is basically fried nuggets, almost has a Chinese flavor because of the 5 spice 7.5/10. My other fave was the Parihuela which is a seafood bouliabaise. Loads of seafood and delicious broth. You should eat this with some rice 8.5/10. The only disappointment was the mushroom empanadas, they were a little bland, they were filled with mushrooms, but strangely lacked the flavor 5/10. The view is amazing to match the food. read more

My friends and I came in for lunch and unfortunately the experience was underwhelming. The food was hit or miss. My Pollo a la Brasa (1/2 chicken portion) was very good, juicy and flavorful. However, the Lomo Saltado was overly salty and the Paella lacked seasoning and had a surprisingly small portion of protein. The biggest issue was the service. We waited far too long for our drinks, appetizers, and entrees and it was difficult to flag down a server for anything. There are limited dining options in Pacifica aside from fast dining restaurants and adding the "dogs allowed" really narrowed down to an even smaller number. When visiting the coast, eating seafood is on the itinerary. Puerto's menu had a lot of dishes I liked. My own rule is if I see branzino on the menu, I must order. We also ordered the mushroom empanadas, oysters, paella, and the branzino. All the items were scrumptious. The stew that coated the branzino plate had a nice kick. The fish was meaty and had a nice crispy skin. The empanadas were so delicious. The cheese and mushroom went well together. The oysters were a mix of large and small, with miso vinaigrette and cocktail sauce. They were ok. The food was great overall. Our waiter was very personable and attentive. The restaurant was packed inside with happy diners. They also have a balcony to enjoy the view, when the fog doesn't obstruct the beach. Note, it's next to PCH so the traffic noise can be distracting. Wish there was some music to mask the rumbling of engines and create an ambiance outside. Perhaps there's a city ordinance against public noise. We ended up played our own music at a low volume. read more

I've been here a few times, mostly for the view TBH. Its a big plus that the food and beverages are pretty good. Its defo tourist pricing and they have some GF options which is nice. Sometimes there's a bit of a wait to get seated but the staff have always been nice so its on my list of places to go. They also have parking which is a big win in this area. read more

Came here after a long hike at Montara Peak. Best Octopus with potatoes I've ever had and really good Pisco Sours. It is a bit noisy and more of a bar type atmosphere than a food restaurant but food and drinks totally worth it, and plan to come back - still salivating over the octopus. The patio and indoor layout don't fully capitalize on the view. Food is solid and pretty much what you'd expect -- seafood dishes like ceviche, bouillabaisse, and lomo saltado. Everything we had was AMAZING - the torquenos and their mustard sauce, the lomo saltado and adobo, and the southern belle peach cocktail. The service and food was really good. I've never had this style of food or been here before, but I did really love what I ordered and I think everybody else at the table did as well. This review needs a bit of context. This was a date night with my wife, and while the service ranged from good to okay, communication was lacking in several important moments. To start, my wife's meal arrived roughly 15 minutes before mine, which immediately set the tone for the evening. (-1 star) 1) Missing ingredients with no prior notice; I ordered a steak salad that is described on the menu as including blue cheese. At the time of ordering, there was no mention that any ingredients were unavailable. After a few bites, I politely asked the server for additional blue cheese. Only then was I informed--via the server, after checking with the manager--that they were completely out of blue cheese and could substitute feta instead. Blue cheese and feta are not interchangeable, and the blue cheese is the reason I ordered this particular salad, having enjoyed similar versions elsewhere. My wife ultimately asked them to remake the salad without dressing so we could take it home and add blue cheese ourselves to get the full experience. The salad with steak is $29, and we were still charged the full price despite a key ingredient being unavailable. For perspective, there is a Safeway less than a mile away. (-2 stars) 2) Happy hour confusion Who doesn't enjoy happy hour? However, when a cocktail is listed on the menu, the staff should know the ingredients--especially the alcohol being used. In this case, they did not. I ended up selecting bottled options instead, but the pricing was not adjusted for happy hour. (This is a communication issue which is already accounted for in a star loss.) Overall The food itself is decent, but communication is lacking. Be cautious, as you may not receive exactly what you ordered unless you proactively raise concerns. read more

I visited yesterday, and while the food was great, it took over 40 minutes for our entrées to arrive--and that was all we ordered. Unfortunately, the service didn't match the quality of the food. Throughout the meal, I had to ask for things like pepper, water refills, and updates on the status of our order. Our server never checked in on us once to see if we needed anything or how everything was.
