My friend and I split the Plaintains, squid ink pasta with seafood, and a pork dish, all of which was good. Allergic friend had a plate piled with veggies, and she said it was good. The friend who had the bronzino said it was great. Service was fairly attentive, except that we had a fifth person join us late, and it would've been ideal if someone had come to take his order sooner. Drinks: I had an NA beer, which was nice, but one friend hated the white wine he ordered - if they'd had him taste it before bringing him a glass, that would've been better. My other friends had mojitos and said they didn't like the coconut rum, and would've preferred if it hadn't been flavored. What a phenomenal surprise. Being on the same property as a hotel, our expectations were tempered. There during Happy Hour, we had the ceviche, empanadas, and a couple of Pisco Sours -- the house cocktail (a fizzy whiskey sour type of drink that might be my new favorite). Everything was top notch. We followed with a side of Plantain Fritos (a little sneaky that they're noted as the right complement to the ceviche though not on the HH menu. No big deal because they were worth it. Emmanuela (sp?) provided excellent service. Adjusting to 3.5 because they have a bad wasp problem if you are sitting out on the patio. It made for an uncomfortable eating experience. Had a wonderful lunch here for my niece's birthday! The best thing we had was the grilled octopus. It may be the best octopus I've had, perfectly cooked with an excellent char 10/10. The group loved the crispy fried whole branzino 9/10. Fried plantains were standard but still great 8/10. Ceviche was fresh with loads of fish and shrimp and paired with plantain chips 8.5/10. Chicharron de Pollo is basically fried nuggets, almost has a Chinese flavor because of the 5 spice 7.5/10. My other fave was the Parihuela which is a seafood bouliabaise. Loads of seafood and delicious broth. You should eat this with some rice 8.5/10. Ordered the Quinoa Chaufa adding steak, but it had no flavor. No salt, no pepper, no flavoring spices of any kind. Also the steak itself had no flavor either, it was flavorless and was tough to chew. As my family member said when she tried it said it felt fibrous. Ya like a continuous.fiber strand of meat, tough to cut and chew. My friends and I came in for lunch and unfortunately the experience was underwhelming. The food was hit or miss. My Pollo a la Brasa (1/2 chicken portion) was very good, juicy and flavorful. However, the Lomo Saltado was overly salty and the Paella lacked seasoning and had a surprisingly small portion of protein. The biggest issue was the service. We waited far too long for our drinks, appetizers, and entrees and it was difficult to flag down a server for anything. There are limited dining options in Pacifica aside from fast dining restaurants and adding the "dogs allowed" really narrowed down to an even smaller number. When visiting the coast, eating seafood is on the itinerary. Puerto's menu had a lot of dishes I liked. My own rule is if I see branzino on the menu, I must order. We also ordered the mushroom empanadas, oysters, paella, and the branzino. All the items were scrumptious. The stew that coated the branzino plate had a nice kick. The fish was meaty and had a nice crispy skin. The empanadas were so delicious. The cheese and mushroom went well together. The oysters were a mix of large and small, with miso vinaigrette and cocktail sauce. They were ok. The food was great overall. Our waiter was very personable and attentive. The restaurant was packed inside with happy diners. They also have a balcony to enjoy the view, when the fog doesn't obstruct the beach. Note, it's next to PCH so the traffic noise can be distracting. Wish there was some music to mask the rumbling of engines and create an ambiance outside. Perhaps there's a city ordinance against public noise. We ended up played our own music at a low volume. read more

I've been here a few times, mostly for the view TBH. Its a big plus that the food and beverages are pretty good. Its defo tourist pricing and they have some GF options which is nice. Sometimes there's a bit of a wait to get seated but the staff have always been nice so its on my list of places to go. They also have parking which is a big win in this area. read more

It was a busy Friday night and we had a group of like seven and we didn't have a reservation and didn't call ahead and they seemed busy but they still got us sat pretty quickly. The service and food was really good. I've never had this style of food or been here before, but I did really love what I ordered and I think everybody else at the table did as well. Everything we had was AMAZING - the torquenos and their mustard sauce, the lomo saltado and adobo, and the southern belle peach cocktail. I went in on a busy not foggy saturday and was able to sit outside and it was really nice but the service was really slow. Then we ordered and the food from a table that ordered after us came out first and on a hungry saturday, I was not too pleased but the empanadas were just average. the sauce was really good. The rangoon wonton things look like they were filled with a lot but honestly, it was too much. they were just unproportionally divided to what the wrapper was and they should just make more wrapper smaller and give more as a quantity then more in each one. read more

This review needs a bit of context. This was a date night with my wife, and while the service ranged from good to okay, communication was lacking in several important moments. To start, my wife's meal arrived roughly 15 minutes before mine, which immediately set the tone for the evening. (-1 star) 1) Missing ingredients with no prior notice; I ordered a steak salad that is described on the menu as including blue cheese. At the time of ordering, there was no mention that any ingredients were unavailable. After a few bites, I politely asked the server for additional blue cheese. Only then was I informed--via the server, after checking with the manager--that they were completely out of blue cheese and could substitute feta instead. Blue cheese and feta are not interchangeable, and the blue cheese is the reason I ordered this particular salad, having enjoyed similar versions elsewhere. My wife ultimately asked them to remake the salad without dressing so we could take it home and add blue cheese ourselves to get the full experience. The salad with steak is $29, and we were still charged the full price despite a key ingredient being unavailable. For perspective, there is a Safeway less than a mile away. (-2 stars) 2) Happy hour confusion Who doesn't enjoy happy hour? However, when a cocktail is listed on the menu, the staff should know the ingredients--especially the alcohol being used. In this case, they did not. I ended up selecting bottled options instead, but the pricing was not adjusted for happy hour. (This is a communication issue which is already accounted for in a star loss.) Overall The food itself is decent, but communication is lacking. Be cautious, as you may not receive exactly what you ordered unless you proactively raise concerns. read more

Puerto 27 is one of the rare establishments that really is a triple threat -- a gorgeous space with great food and plenty of seating. It's a terrific spot for a big group with a festive, sunny environment and plenty of beach-y vibes to bring home the fresh seafood aesthetic. When it comes to places like this I am all about the ceviche, and their Ceviche Trio is the way to go to truly try all of the uniquely vibrant flavors Puerto 27 has to offer. Without a doubt my favorite of the three is the Ceviche Puerto with its bold, creamy leche de Tigre base and robust flavor bursting with fresh herbs and fishy flare. The Nikkel is really well executed, and I enjoy it, but the ahi tuna with soy-ponzu has such a distinct Japanese influence it isn't really what I'm craving when getting ceviche; yet it's tasty and salty fun nonetheless. The ceviche has got to be served with a big basket of plantain chips, which are among the best I've ever had. Served freshly fried from the kitchen they come out just a touch warm, striking the perfect balance of sliced thin enough to be easy to eat yet thick enough to bring a big crunch. The empanadas, Puerto pasta, and Avocado Crabwich all passed with flying colors for the rest of my party. Something to note: their fries are the closest to In N Out that I have ever had outside of an In N Out. In N Out fries are divisive, so take that for what you will when ordering -- you may need to ask for them to be a little extra crispy if you prefer a less floppy potato like myself. read more

We ended up getting seated outside, where we had a beautiful view of the beach. Once seated it took an additional 30 minutes to get our orders taken. The worst part is our actual waitress never took our order or checked in on us, I believe one of the managers had to help us the whole time. He was apologetic on her behalf which we greatly appreciated. The food was not worth waiting over an hour for unfortunately. I'm glad that I did! I had such a great time talking to some regular locals who come here often for HH and dinner after. Thank You also to Pedro for explaining the artwork and the story of how the restaurant and name arose. I used to go further South to La Costanera in Montara long, long ago for their HH and dinners. When my daughter and I visit Pacifica, we always make sure to make our first stop at Puerto 27. The restaurant is at a perfect location overlooking the beach, parking is super easy, the ambience is so relaxing after a long 2 - 3 hour drive, and the food is consistently good. My daughter drinks water like crazy, so we also appreciate the small details like water bottles at the table and how quick staff are to refill them. My favorite are the plantains with the yummy dipping sauce and any drink special they have going on. Servings are plentiful and the staff is always super nice. I only marked off one star because the bathrooms do need more attention each time we've visited. Otherwise, it's not enough to keep us away. If there was an option to only mark down half a star, then this would be a 4.5 star review. read more
