A fantastic restaurant blending the old and the new, with a view of the beach. The food was absolutely delicious--the clam chowder comes highly recommended, and the mimosas were a perfect choice. The servers were incredibly friendly and efficient!

How did I not know about this place? I can't believe I have been missing out for years. An easy drive from SF for lunch in Fogust . We had to try the crab sandwich and clam chowder after reading about them and I'm so glad we did. The clam chowder was great and the crab sandwich was amazing! Thank god we shared one because it was BIG - a lot of crab on lovely soft, grilled sourdough with a great little salad on the side. My photos really don't do it justice. The basil vinaigrette was delicious on the salad. The waiter we had was great. Old school type of place. Large dining room and a separate bar area where there is live music at night. The bar itself was filled up with people eating and (day) drinking! The sandwich was pricy but we definitely felt like we got our moneys worth. Can't wait to go back for another lunch.

Yesterday we enjoyed Nick's at Rockaway Beach. The reservation process was seamless, the parking lot attendant was cordial, and parking was near instant (customers self-park). The greeters were pleasant, with seating also instant, with some view of the Pacific Ocean. We were a party of three (my wife, her cousin, and I). We all ordered the open-faced crab sandwich with clam chowder. All items were totally on point (well prepared, delicious, and on point). The oysters on the half shell were tasty too. No cocktails; we opted for soft drinks. The service was attentive, and we lacked for nothing. My only observation was the bill came to over $320 with tip for three sandwiches (I have eaten at higher-end places many times, but fine dining has gotten a bit pricey). With rights to stroll on the beach after the meal if you wish, part of what you get is the experience. Still, I recommend Nick's for a very special meal with folks you care about. (Bring a jacket if you spend any time outside. )

Dropped by for lunch when we were visiting the area. We were seated fast and the service was very friendly. The portions are large but so are the menu prices. The food was decent buy i don't feel they justified the overly high prices. The interior had s nice view of the ocean and there was ample parking.

First time going. My husband heard about the crab sandwiches and he was very happy. He really enjoyed it. I ordered pasta. It was mediocre. As was the potato skins. The waitress was very attentive and nice. The bus boy was rude. I loved how they kept this restaurant old school look. The views of the ocean are beautiful too. There is parking too.

It's been a while since I've been to Nick's Rockaway, but I chose to stop by today for some dinner and am so glad I did! I was greeted right away with a smile and sat by the bar area. Ordered the open-face crab sandwich (half sandwich with fried pickles), a cup of clam chowder, and a pineapple martini. Everything was fabulous and tasted absolutely tasty. The server checked on me regularly to see how the food tasted and if I needed anything else. Between the good food, excellent service, and the nice view right in front of the ocean, it was a perfect visit!

A seafood, brunch restaurant right along the coast with its own private parking? Lounge area, dance floor, bar seating, booth seating, tables, full on entrees, breakfast, and lots of options? Sign me up! I got your most basic sausage and cheddar omelette and it did not disappoint! Ample cheese, ample sausage! Toast was great, but very buttery, so beware if you don't eat butter. Friends wanted to sub their sides for biscuits and gravy, and server said she would ask. Any alterations we wanted (extra hollandaise sauce, no bell peppers, etc.) we asked for, our server was kind and showed no annoyance at all, which was greatly appreciated. Coffees are great, drinks are great, and pricing is decent. Went in on a Sunday, got seated in the lounge immediately for a group of 5. I'll be back here for sure if I'm ever in the area!

First time trying this place. Been wanting to try their famous crab sandwich. They sell their sandwich market price & I like that it was packed with so much crab. Their ingredients was very straight forward and simple. I also really liked their lobster ravioli. It was super creamy & fresh. The server we had was very nice. She was very attentive to our table. You get a view of the ocean. Good spot to try!

Eat here. Great clam chowder. The calamari is the best I have ever had. Super nice servers. Drinks are tasty with nice pours.

THE BIGGEST CRAB SANDWICH EVER!!!! Oh my god there is so much crab I hate to think how many crabs gave up their lives for this sandwich. The bread is THICK!! this crab sandwich is a STACK!!! Oh God. It was incredible. SO much crab. Have you ever have to crab sandwiches at the Giants stadium? You could fit 6 of those skinny crab sandwiches into the SINGULAR nicks Rockaway full size crab sandwich. I promise you if you are a normal person with a normal appetite the half sandwich is PLENTY. If you are like me, a monster, then you must get the full. My date got the lobster and it honestly blew me away how delicious and buttery and soft it was. All lobster I've ever had has been chewy and tough and unpleasant but now I get it. Spend a lovely hike and walk at mori point and then afterwards please go demolish a crab sandwich at Nick's rockaway

Tasty, friendly, and very beachy. We were visiting the area and wanted a bite to eat with a good view, well Nick's has that in spades. There was a slight wait to get a table, but we got a drink while we waited. I got the Alfredo shrimp with a side salad and my friend got the crab sandwich. It was all so delicious with good portions. My only concern was the friendliness. Our server was amazing, but everyone else we encountered, a bit stand offish. I might go back and might not.

I vaguely remembered this location from years ago (pre-covid). But I dont remember ever ordering their crab sandwich, so when I was in the area, I decided to go inside. Orders: Cup of clam chowder 1/2 sandwich of their crab sandwich with fries Total: $46.65 (without tip) I will start of with how huge this sandwich is - it is a large slab of grilled sourdough! The dungenness crav with tomato is a huge heap that you might want to have a knife and fork to help you through this. The fries are thick cut and fresh from the fryer. The clam chowder soup... I didnt take a picture of only because I dug right in. There was a good portion of clam, and I love how it doesn't taste watered down like in some areas. It was pretty creamy and I would definitely order again. Definitely stop by and try it out. J saw people walk in and sit, read a book by the window (i assume they came by early for the spot!). I am tempted to try their crab fettuccine alfredo next time or their fettuccine shell feast.

Incredible food amazing views and a fun spot with lots of history. We were house hunting today and wanted to eat somewhere in the same zip as the house. It was so good! Real crab, real sourdough and pretty good bloody Mary's also I can say the fries were hand made and the brekkie potatoes had all the goodies in them. Onions and peppers. You just don't get food like that anymore. Keep going my friends!

I would like to buy a gift card, is it available?

That's a great question. However, I do not know. Give them a call. They're very nice.

    Do they take reservations?

    Yes!

    Is there a corkage fee?

I don't know. Best to call & find out.

Is the outdoor seating suitable for dinner?

I’m pretty sure there is no outdoor seating. If there was, the answer would be no, too cold & windy.

Will you be making Chopino today?

I believe it is a weekend special (depending on availability)

    Are you taking reservations?

    Yes!

    Is there a kids' menu?

    Yes

Why is there no health score posted?

It's plain as day as soon as you walk to in. I see it every time I go there--green right behind the host stand. Pretty hard to miss!

I am having a wedding reception at Nick's Restaurant. I am really concerned about the kind of job they will do. Has anyone had a wedding reception at this location? How did it go?

All the banquets/ big events there are amazing ! Always more then enough food and great tasting . Workers are attentive , nice and always willing to help .

For that price, service wasn't rude, but it could've been better. Dishes were flavorful and authentic, we got the fried fish with a seafood sauce, some ceviche, and empanada trio to share. I was surprised i had to order a separate side of plantain chips for like $10 and that it didn't come with the ceviche. My main complaint is that the service was slow and it was difficult to flag someone down especially since they forgot one of our dishes. I had to tell two different people throughout the night before they finally put the order in again, near the end of our meal. Turns out they forgot to put it in, in the first place. The atmosphere is nice overall, I do love Pacifica, but I wouldn't come back here again given the service and prices, esp since we can get similar quality food and portions at more local smaller sf establishments at half the price.

The hostess snapped at me, used a rude tone of voice, and glared at me when she told me our reservation had been cancelled & I showed her my text confirmation without any notice of cancellation. No one informed me until she treated me so rudely in front of the kids. She rolled her eyes at me and walked away. We stayed there. When she returned, she showed aggravation and annoyance in her body language and even stared down two of the kids who were only whispering to one another. We all ordered off the regular menu--no kids menus. We paid a lot of money and enjoyed every appetizer and entree. The hostess walked by our table multiple times and gave dirty looks at the kids who were well behaved and enjoying the food and company around the table. She should have left us alone. The kids asked me a few times, were they doing something wrong? Why is that lady from the front snarling at us when she comes by? The kids had very good etiquette. I still wonder why we were treated so poorly.

My husband, a decorated disabled veteran, and I spent nearly $400 over back-to-back nights here for our anniversary, and it was a thoroughly demoralizing experience. When a business takes $100s and rewards you with condescending staff, hostile management, and an owner, Jason, who lacks basic accountability, the public needs to be warned. THE FIRST NIGHT: EXPLOITATION AND LAZINESS ($200 Cash) Our happy hour visit was completely ruined by our server, Manuel, whose attitude was remarkably condescending and dismissive. He repeatedly mishandled our drink orders and completely abandoned our table. Worse, we ordered oysters specifically for the advertised premium dry ice presentation. Manuel flat-out refused to perform it. My disabled husband with limited movement was forced to reach across the table and conduct the dry ice presentation himself just so we could experience what we paid for. The usual ambient live pianist was entirely absent, leaving the room dead and obnoxious (check the background noise from both videos from each night). When confronted, the manager, John, brushed it off, handed us a card, cheekly told us to email him next time to "work something out." THE SECOND NIGHT: DISRESPECT AND DECEIT ($170 Debit Card) We foolishly trusted management and returned the next night for dinner, expecting redemption. Instead, we were treated with open disrespect by our server, Sonya. We ordered the cioppino, which arrived in a hot heavy iron pot. The kitchen severely shorted the portions, giving us exactly two crab legs each with zero knuckles included (see attached photo). When we politely asked Sonya for help portioning it, she completely refused with a hostile attitude. Later, she picked up our unfinished calamari in its greasy metal cup, shook it aggressively in front of our faces, and condescendingly offered the last scraps instead of clearing the table like a professional. THE ETHICAL BREAKDOWN OF MANAGEMENT & OWNERSHIP When we approached John again to explain how both nights were ruined, he became instantly defensive. Despite knowing it was our milestone anniversary, his insulting solution for two nights of miserable service and a $370 tab was a single free piece of cake and granting us a table with views like we asked for originally. We attempted to handle this privately and professionally by emailing the executive chef and owner, Jason Yeafoli. Instead of showing leadership, Jason completely protected his defensive staff, backed John's insulting "free dessert" offer, and refused to issue a refund. BUT, he did this all without looking over the visual evidence (pictures and videos). Incompetently the FOLLOWING day of the complaint Jason immediately requested access to see the pictures and videos as if he didn't look at them to begin... This establishment will happily take your money, treat you like a nuisance, and then insult your intelligence when you ask for basic standards. They do not care about quality, they do not care about customers, and they certainly do not care about disabled veterans. Do not let them ruin your weekend the way they ruined our anniversary.
