    Ceviche
    Shauna Z.

We ordered classic ceviche, empanadas (1 chicken and 1 beef) and yucca fries. The ceviche was the best of the 3 dishes, perfectly balanced flavors. The chicken empanadas had better flavor than the beef which were a bit bland) and the yucca fries needed salt. The server was good but some people who brought the food were rude. Overall it was a good experience.

LIMON never disappoints -- the food is consistently excellent, and the service is always attentive and friendly. The vibe is relaxed and casual, perfect for a low-key night out.

Everything was sooo good. We ordered the staples, chicken, rice, yucca and each empanada. I hadn't been here in a long time and I'll be back sooner to try more dishes. We just missed happy hour, but thankfully we were able to get seated without a reservation.

Nice interior and pleasant service. I like most of what we ordered- octopus dish was tasty and tender, crispy pork came with a very palatable fried rice, paella had generous protein, beed rib looks dry but it was not, ceviche was refreshing and acted like a palate cleaner. The only thing I regret ordering was their Pollo Ala Brasa- the akin tasted good but the actual meat is very dry. I would go back but will not order the chicken.

    Passion Fruit Pisco Sour

Had a great lunch yesterday. We were welcomed right when we arrived and seated near the large window looking out to the street. Our server was very friendly and service was excellent. We started with their Passion Fruit Pisco Sour. Lucious frothy egg white foam topped a yummy passionfruit base. Next we had the Limon Ceviche plate, served with Taro chips, Chicken Empanadas, Camarones Crocantes and Truffle Mac and Cheese. Food was all delicious, well seasoned and flavorful.

Amazing as always. The Lomo Saltado never disappoints. I could probably eat it every day even though I definitely shouldn't. It was a lively night to be there as we forgot it was Mother's Day when we made the reservation, oops.

Limon has generally been a decent experience for me, though I've often felt the pricing doesn't quite match the quality of the food. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was especially disappointing. I ordered the Lomo Saltado for takeout, and even within a few bites before leaving, I noticed I was having to chew a lot more than usual. The texture was both rubbery and dry, and it required far more chewing than expected. After getting home, I set a few pieces aside to take a closer look, and parts of the meat also appeared undercooked. The texture issues were already present before I left the restaurant, even after I gently reheated the dish at home. Overall, the dish fell well below what I would expect. Another issue from this visit was the inconsistency with takeout service. In my recent experiences over the past couple of weeks, utensils are rarely offered unless specifically asked for, and in most cases not mentioned at all during pickup. It feels like an oversight in the pickup process that should be more consistently handled, either by including utensils automatically or at least asking the customer. Considering everything from this experience, it's unlikely I'll be ordering the Lomo Saltado again.

This place was amazing. As soon as you walk in the ambiance was filled with natural light and a busy service day. The food was amazing. 10/10 recommend. I had their pescado entero and paired it with a hefe weissbier (which was amazingly smooth for any of my beer drinkers). The staff were kind and they answered all our questions. Will definitely be back for more.

Tiniest 1/4 dark meat chicken Pollo a la Brasa!! Disappointing!

A fun vibe , yummy food, and staff is always welcoming. However, I do NOT frequent this place like I did 3 years ago. The prices have increased and the amount of food decreased. I decided to give it one more chance and ordered the 1/4 dark meat Pollo a la Brasa.. again disappointment! I received the smallest piece of chicken and even mentioned it to the waiter.. wow.. Limon I will miss you, bye!

Fabulous from top to bottom. Service was top end and the ceviche, empanadas, flat iron steak, and chicken were sound and delicious. The place can get a little loud so keep that in mind if you are looking for a place that is more reserved. It's has a good atmosphere here!

    Janni Linea B.

I came here for dinner with my family. It's a bit overpriced for what you get, and the meat was on the dry side. Food is a little bit bland. The ceviche was the best part of the meal. Not the best overall, but still decent. Our server was very friendly too and kept checking in on us. It was such a busy night with lots of customers.

Can the veggie options be made allium-free (no onion, no garlic)?

Whether or not veggie options can be made allium-free (no onion, no garlic) largely depends on the specific restaurant or the dish in question. Many restaurants are willing to accommodate dietary restrictions or preferences, including removing or… Read more

Is there a public parking nearby?

There is a commuter train station by it so you might be able to park there otherwise I'm not quite sure

Do they still have happy hour?

Are there any gluten free options?

Their rotisserie chicken with rice should be gluten free! Just ask for no sauce. I would double check with the restaurant to make sure.

Why are they closed with plastic everywhere?

Which location is ideal for a party of 10? Do they all have 4% surcharge?

Do they take reservations? The phone number leads to an automated system that doesn't work when I press the keys they specify so I'm not sure how to reach them?

Do you recommend making reservations or even accept reservations?

No, because they might just cancel your reservations last minute like they did for my family on Mother's Day.

Are you not on opentable any longer?

Hello, we are no longer on OpenTable. Thank you very much for your support.

Do they have a dessert menu?

Yes, they do - four deserts and few desert wines. Look under the menu photos on yelp - there are few pictures of a small desert menu. I am pretty sure it doesn't change much - it was the same few times I went.

Is the entire menu available to order for lunch? Or just the lunch specials? Thanks.

Our entire menu is available for lunch & dinner! We just have lunch specials that are available as well during lunch!

Does this location have a private room?

No! They just have open seating

Are walk ins welcome? Or do I need to make reservations?

    Yes, walk ins are welcome

Is there a kid's menu? If so, what are the offerings?

    No not a kids menu

Do you have to make a reservation?

Not generally. In their South Van Ness space they have a huge area downstairs with a whole other bar.

The restaurant was a little more than half full when we had dinner there on a Friday night and the ambiance is lively but not loud. We ordered a variety of dishes and everything was delicious, with very generous portion sizes that left us so full (with leftovers to spare). The ceviches were bright, limey, and tart in the best way, the chicken wings were crispy and juicy, the papa rellena was especially interesting (almost like an inside-out, deep-fried baked potato) with olives and raisins that were a pleasant surprise, and the lomo saltado was as comforting and dependable as it usually is. To top it all off, they even offer Peruvian beers, which was the perfect way to wash everything down. The location is a little bit odd but easy enough to find and park (there is plenty of parking across the main street in front of the BevMo if there isn't any directly in front of the restaurant).

Water poured and menus handed out. A basket of bread to the table. The staff was very patient with us as we had one person who was running late. Pros: * while we waited we started with calamari and yuca fries. * I had a great pisco sour cocktail. * my friends decided to do family style dining - they ordered three items. * I decided to order my own dish as it was my birthday, and didn't feel like sharing. The seafood stew tomato based was excellent. So much seafood - mussels, clams, shrimp, prawns, squid, and a crab leg. Cons: * my friends also ordered the seafood stew tomato based. After a while they asked about it. Lost in translation. Their order never placed with the kitchen. For dessert we got the alfajores. A sandwich cookie with a layer of dulce de leche. It was very sweet. Would have been better with a strong cup of coffee. I also received a complimentary scoop of ice cream in honor of my birthday. There are some parking spaces in front of the restaurant. We circled around the block. Ended up on the same side of the street but about one long block away. The five of us said the food was delicious and we'd like to return.

My husband and I were married at San Francisco City Hall and originally had plans to hold our reception at the Embarcadero. Then we found out that Dreamforce was happening the same week as our wedding and, to put it lightly, I went into full panic mode. At the time, it felt like everything was falling apart. Looking back now, I truly believe it happened for a reason because it led us to Puerto 27 and it ended up being better than anything we could have imagined. Before making a decision, we came in to try the food and were completely blown away. We looked at each other and immediately knew: this was it. I had always dreamed of having a beautiful ocean view on my wedding day, and Puerto 27 gave me that and so much more. The views were absolutely breathtaking and the ballroom was the perfect intimate space for a reception following a San Francisco City Hall wedding. What truly made this place special, though, was the people. From the moment we walked in, every single member of the staff made us feel like family. We visited multiple times before our wedding day and grew to love everyone there. Pedro, our main point of contact, was incredible. Planning a wedding was our first experience organizing something this big and there were definitely moments of stress and uncertainty. Pedro never once made us feel overwhelmed or unsupported. He answered every question, eased every worry, and was there for us every step of the way. He made the entire process feel effortless and gave us so much peace of mind during a very emotional and exciting season of our lives. And then there's the food. To this day, our guests still talk about it. People still bring up dishes they had that night and tell us how much they crave it. That's probably one of the biggest compliments you can give a restaurant after hosting a wedding reception there. Puerto 27 will forever hold such a special place in our hearts. Thank you for helping make our wedding day even more magical than we imagined. PEDROOOO! We love you and your staff! We are still floored to this day with how amazing you all are! Thank you so much again for making our day so special and helping us along the process. Sorry about the long wait about posting this review! This time we were a party of 4 and were celebrating a birthday which they acknowledged and thoughtfully wished happy birthday to our celebrated guest. This time I ordered the ceviche limeño, which was a mix of shrimp, white fish, octopus and calamari served with crunchy corn, soft corn and sweet potato marinated in a delicious sauce with a hint of spice (the base tasted similar to leche de Tigre) Other guests in my party ordered the whole roasted cauliflower with eggplant puree, and the rice with shrimp. Both were delicious. I tried two new alcohol-free drinks: guayaba healer (guava, lime and tajin) and the red October. Both were tasty, however for non alcoholic drinks $12 is a little steep, particularly for the red October which is served in a fluted cup and has a lot less volume than the other non-alcoholic drinks. We ordered two desserts, both were excellent: the suspiro loco with cotton candy and Dulce de leche, strawberries and crumbled graham cracker-like cookies, was crazy and fun, yet well balanced. The second dessert was the tapioca tropical, which is a tapioca pudding with toasted coconut, raspberry and ice cream, which was not too sweet and quite delicious. We got a complimentary coconut tres leches for the birthday guest, which was also delectable. As for the service, it was definitely improved compared to last time, yet not seamless. We were sitting inside this time and had a bigger party. Our waitress was very friendly, however one of the items we ordered never arrived and I had to point it out to them when the check arrived. She apologized and they took it off right away. One of the hosts came to check in on us a couple of times throughout the meal which was much appreciated.
