This young boy responded to me in English . "White boy?...trying to speak Spanish..." The other Mexican individual, the cook; we had a decent conversation in Spanish. This guy works his ass off. He has two jobs and barely sleeps. Very nice guy. This guy made the establishment inviting. I told him his tacos are authentic to Southern California and some places in the northern part. There is a large salsa bar, with mild and very hot sauces, delicious! They also keep fresh cucumbers; which is a nice touch! This was my late night run, it was quiet inside, but orders were being filled via phone calls late at night. 4AM!! I'll be back to try something else on their large, extensive menu. Many individual items and combo plates. I had the crispy tacos (real tortillas); (I am not talking Taco Bell), with carne asada. And paired it with a large pickled Jalapeño! (Free). I drenched the tacos with a habanero sauce. Luckily I had some Pepcid for the burning. It was all worth it... Priced decently. Clean, quiet, with friendly staff. But, It's ok to speak in your native tongue with a "foreigner" when he speaks to you in Spanish! Lesson for the boy.

Visited on June 16, 2027 for lunch. Our waiter was an older gentleman who's apparently been there since they opened. He was quick with our order--almost to a fault. It felt like he was only focused on turning the table as fast as possible rather than providing good service. What really bothered me was how he treated the hostess. While we were sitting there, he actually whistled to get her attention and started making arm gestures like he was calling over a dog. I was floored. Whistling at staff like that in a customer-facing restaurant is incredibly disrespectful and unprofessional. On Tuesdays they do a BOGO deal which is amazing since you can get 4 pretty decent sized tacos for about $13. I think that's a bargain. For tacos I ordered two carnitas, a chicken, and a shrimp taco. As an appetizer I order their chips and guac. For drink I got a lime jarrito. The jarrito was refreshing as expected, and brought back memories to my childhood. The chips and guac were also great. Guac was extra salty, but I didn't mind and happily devoured the appetizer. Now for the tacos... I was pretty disappointed in the food. The experience itself was great. They accidentally gave me a barbacoa taco and I advised my waiter I couldn't eat beef, so they brought me the correct meat and fixed it. Super friendly and quick with the fix! Carnitas tacos - these tacos were very dry. Authentic carnitas are typically moist and the meat is cooked in its own fat or lard. The taste felt pretty close to authentic, but I think they may have overcooked the meat. Chicken taco - the meat looked like it came from a baked chicken breast and then sliced into smaller pieces. I don't have a problem with this. But the chicken itself was also dry. The flavors were good, but it didn't quite make it to the finish line for me. Camaron/shrimp taco - this was my favorite out of the three I tried. The slaw on top, and the spicy mayo they made was delicious. My biggest pain point with this taco is I only saw two tiny salad shrimps and the rest was slaw. I would have liked more shrimp since they were tiny, and then I'm not biting into a bunch of slaw. Overall the tacos were a 2/5 for me. Guac was a 5/5. I'm going to stick with the bowls in the future and forego any taco orders.
