A busy restaurant in a small town. Friendly wait staff and made you feel like family. Restaurant was clean despite the number of people being served. See photos and menu photos. Typical Mexican /American restaurant with large portions. If they serve you your plate with cheddar cheese and/or sour cream, it's not authentic Mexican food regardless if they say its authentic. I asked for hotter salsa and was rewarded with a bowl that had a nice bite to it. It was a little warm but not terribly hot. (I like my stuff really hot, like on the 50k Scoville scale level.). So, for timid hot sauce eaters, this may be beyond your comfort level. Suck on a lime while eating this salsa. Would I make this a destination place to go to? No. If passing through the town and had to have Mexican? Maybe. read more

We've long been (even w/former restaurant name) patrons and have seen a downturn in quality in the past six months. But the visit of 9/19 was the conclusion of our patronage. I've always ordered the same meal; a Vegetarian Burrito. My husband orders all over the menu normally, but this visit he chose a special enchilada with pork. Both dishes were beyond swimming in sauce, a soup-like in consistency. We would in the past have noticed a freshly rolled burrito, but one couldn't help wondering how far in-advance the meal had been prepared prompting need of saturating to obscure. It was a sad turn of events. The server was attentive, apologetic when I shared the meal's downside, the tortilla chips warm, salsa just spicy enough, and my husband's Margarita was refreshing. But $52. later w/gratuity, we will not be returning. read more

To give you an idea of the type of service I received is where, you, the customer is the only one saying please and thank you. The food was good but the salsa was enough for 2-3 chips, she seemed irritated I politely asked for another tiny bit. They offer cash discounts. The waitress never brought the bill so I went up to the register with cash in my hand she could clearly see. I knew the total was not the cash discount. I asked her and she said it was. I had to ask for a receipt which shows it was not. Then the clown behind me sarcastically asked if she accepts cash tips. She lied to me. I just left and will never go back there. If the owner reads this, let your servers know why they don't get tips! read more

Okay, so there aren't too many dining options in Newport, but I really liked this place! We were in the area visiting family a while back and came to Mi Pueblo for a birthday dinner. Our server was nice and attentive, though some of our orders got messed up (or rather, 2 meals were totally forgotten) but they remedied it pretty quickly. We had a large group of 10 and it was a Friday night and thus really busy, so a little slack can be given here. The food portions are large and tasty, and the menu of options is even bigger--you know, the type of menu that is a short novel. As a parent to a toddler, what stood out to me most was that their kid meals are served warm *not hot* and on cool plates, so that kiddos can start eating right away and you don't have to worry about temperature of the food and waiting for it to cool off! read more

Dropped in here for lunch - great service from our server (Himaya or Hilaya) and a cozy atmosphere. We both ordered enchiladas that were very tasty - I especially liked the sauce and the cheesy enchilada. We will definitely be back! read more

Service was absolutely horrible. Sat for 10-15m. Before water ( in a pitcher that has crusty salsa on side and stuff floating in water) and chips showed up. Enough pico for 2 chips. Waited another 10 or more minutes for sever to show up to take our order. Did hear her talking to her co workers, I speak Spanish. It was just a bull crap sesh. Server was rude and short with us when we ordered. Evidently you shouldn't ask questions when ordering. Food came, it was nice and hot. But, awful. No taste, and literally no meat ... 3 shrimp in a lunch platter doesn't cut it. We were one of 3 tables, she never came to check food. We ate almost none of it. She asked if we wanted to go boxes. Not why is all your food still there.... 60$ for a lunch we didn't eat. Try McDonald's, at least they will give you your food how you want it and not be rude to you. read more

Awesome place. Super great service (thank you, Gabriel!) - up there with the best we see. Granted, we came in on off-hours, but super attentive and prompt, anticipated our every need (and the coleslaw is killer). Who'd have expected such a great dining experience in the middle of northern Idaho. Put this on your list if you're in town. read more

My wife and I frequent this restaurant often. The staff is friendly, the food is good, and you can't beat Mexican restaurant chips amiright? Personally, my favorite dish is the carne asada but I can honestly say I've never had a bad dish here no matter what I got! read more

Not going to waste my time on this review. Waitress was rude. Food was terrible and came on a paper plate wrapped in tinfoil. Plates were stacked on top of each other. Stack plate on top of rice, beans and cheese and see what it looks like when you get home and unwrap. read more

Probably the best Authentic Mexican food north of the CDA area. What it has going for it: - Value, most dishes are under $10 - food is not bland - plenty of parking what it has going against it: - decor needs an update - $3 for fountain soda This is a decent Mexican place for the area it's in. Excellent food and good prices. My one complaint is about the service. The servers tend to forget about you and once they've brought you your food, they go ghost! You have to try to catch them when they walk by. This is the same at both of their locations in Priest River and Ponderay, ID. read more

We are from the Southwest and this is by far the best Mexican food we have found since moving to Washington state. Friendly service and good authentic Mexican food. Lots of vegetarian choices and their cabbage salad that comes with the salsa is amazing. If you're in this area, it is worth your time to stop and try. Absolutely superb. I had the Chile Verde burrito, so rich with its various flavors, each complementing the others. I am one with much experience in foods, including Mexican. This burrito, smothered in a green tomatillo sauce, filled with very tender pork, and with a dusting of Parmesan, is on the list of my all time bests...for overall flavor, maybe the top of it. My girlfriend and I were super excited to venture out for Taco Tuesday. We were super indecisive on wether to go to the new Mexican cuisine "Mama Sanchez" or the to the more familiar restuarant "Mi Pueblo" we decided to go familiar. BIG REGRET!!! We got our food to go. We paid for sides that they of course forgot before leaving the store, thankfully my girlfriend did a check. Unfortunately she didnt check our actual plates. We ordered 2 chicken, 2 beef. They were all chicken and no cheese, barley any sauce. It was a bummer. They did fix our order the next day. But the service was very short and to be honest rude each time we visited. A real disappointment! My girlfriend said this place was the first thing on her mind when she thought of mexican food. New owners must be lazy and unhappy! Cause it shows in your food and service! Came here with my wife, kids and parents for a nice Mexican food meal. The service was great. Social distancing was being followed. Masks can be removed once seated. Service was friendly. I got the seafood chimichanga. It was pretty good but would probably opt for something else next time. I tried a bite of the cheese enchilada and it was delicious. I think that is what I will get next time. Also tried the veggie tostada and that was good too. I will definitely come again next time we are around. read more

I've eaten at Mi Pueblo II many times and have never been disappointed. The problem I have is deciding what to order from the many options. The margaritas are divine - be careful to have a designated driver! The servers aren't chatty but are polite and attentive. First time here the girl that sat us did not give any verbal communication or hardly look at us as we ended up moving between 3 different tables due to high chair restrictions. Felt odd. Didn't know what was going on. Our servers both times were very nice though. A little confusing with how to get more salsas and such. First time there the server didn't make it to our table much. Stopped in for a break on a road trip. Had chips and salsa and a beer. Prices are decent. Food is decent. Hospitality and quick, friendly service was all there. The only reason I couldn't give 5 stars is because I asked if they had cotija cheese for the refried beans I ordered, which the server said yes but they came with some orange and white blend. Went here because of the great reviews on Yelp, and were not disappointed. Our party of 7 adults and 4 children was seated promptly, provided with pitchers of water and chips with 3 types of salsas. We had salads, ribeye, shrimp ala diabla, burritos, and enchiladas, and the kids had quesadillas and chicken strips. We all polished our plates. They had a nice selection of tequila for a good margarita. There were amazing "chips" topped with sweet honey, chocolate, and raspberry syrup and whipped cream that they surprised us with at the end of our meal. If I'm ever in this part of WA/ID again we will absolutely be sopping here. read more
