We came in during dinner hours and had a great meal. My boyfriend ordered the Fiesta Platter and really enjoyed it--he said everything was flavorful and filling. I'm vegetarian, so I went with the vegetarian burrito, and it was really good--fresh, tasty, and satisfying. What really stood out to me was the bean dip--absolutely delicious! If you visit this restaurant, do yourself a favor and order it. It was easily the highlight of the meal for me. The chips and salsa were also great--fresh, crispy chips and a tasty salsa with a nice kick. The only downside is that they don't offer queso, which was a bit of a letdown, but not a dealbreaker. Went there on a cinco de mayo, as our last, spontaneous resort as the other places we tried to go to without a reservation were overly booked. The restaurant is definitely old, understaffed but the food and the staff (forgot our severe name but) is amazing. I got carne asada plate and my girlfriend got some other plate I don't remember. But, like I said food was amazing and so was our server. Went there again few weeks ago, it was fairly empty and it nobody was at the front, so it took some waiting. Apparently there was only 1 server. Pretty sure she made us drinks too as she joked about having margarita overflow so she brought two glasses. Anyways, food was amazing as always, server was very nice and sweet (the same girl). Glad I found this place but understaffing and long waits shouldn't be an issue when your food is ducking amazing. read more

Mary and I stopped in here for dinner last night; we were greeted by friendly staff and seated. Chips with tasty salsa and refried beans were at the table quickly. We each had a margarita, tasty but standard. Mary had a Chimichanga and I had Steak fajitas; both were tasty. You should give this place a try. read more

The child Verde was pretty good. It could have been simmered about 1 more hour, but it was tasty. The strawberry margarita was lackluster, no flavor. I cannot recommend that. They could have been more generous with the beans, a little disappointing. But overall 4 stars is pretty good. Look forward to coming back to try something else on this 5 page menu. read more

Our friends were going here on the eve of 14th Feb and asked if we wanted to join, we did .. and so glad that we did .. it was a great night. The margaritas were really really nice and during happy hours they felt even better .. he he. The place was packed .. I think it had to do with 14th Feb. The service was friendly and the food was good. Loved their jalapeno poppers, the salsa could have done with a bit more spice and salt (I felt) as they serve beans with the salsa and chips which could take the heat away. All in all, a fun evening .. friends, food, booze :) And did I tell you that the margaritas were great !! :D read more

The food was ok. The customer service was TERRIBLE. I was ordering lunch with three other coworkers. We don't have time to be out of the building for lunch so we pulled up their website online, looked at their lunch menu and called in an order. Only when the runner got back she mentioned she thinks the bill was higher than it should have been. And it sure was. They charged us $20 more then the prices on the website. So I called. The hostess got a manager. I explained what had happened including the fact that when we ordered we mentioned we were looking online at the lunch menu and had a few questions about one of the dishes. The manager said "oh yeah that website has been out of date for 3 years". Uh what? So really that's it no empathy, no conversation just sorry lady your out of luck. His response was well what do you expect me to do go out of business just giving food away for free? No but I do expect some actual customer service. Of course I don't expect you to comp my entire lunch, I work in business also. But tell me you will train staff to mention that the Senator prices are out of date, maybe update the website, or take prices off of it? Maybe suggest we come in next week for lunch and he'll through in a fried ice cream. You can do business, provide quality customer service and still make a profit. Came for the Cinco Party, stayed for the Tequila Luge. What a BLAST! I love that there are so many cool things going on in Spokane all the time. We are literally a celebratory town. I have had the food a couple times and that is delicious but I really love the party aspect that these guys have. On my wedding at 10am they supplied tequila shots for all the groomsmen, making them late for photos but well worth the story. Huge restaurant with an incredible area for the party we were at outside. Live music, awesome drink pricing, shot girls and all things party! Way to go CASA! read more

The services is amazing! So polite & helpful. The amount of food you get for the price is awesome as well, it's so clean as well every time I come in I'm greeted with smiley faces from the staff. The beans that they serve you with the salsa & chips are so yummy! My son loves eating the beans always. As for the dessert the flan that I ordered was so tiny for almost $7 bucks. This location discriminates against those with disabilities who require a service animal. The owner, Enrique Torres, told us he didn't care if someone in our party had a disability or if the animal was a service animal he would not allow our service animal inside or outside on the patio. We have enjoyed this location in the past, but refuse to ever go here again due to the rude staff and treatment recieved by the owner. read more

13 years ago I lived here. This was our favorite Mexican restaurant. So we went there for dinner on Friday night. We both ordered the fish tacos. I am a huge fish taco fan and the server stated this was a flagship dish. Our order was served quickly. Though the quality of the cod was good, the rest was a mess. The fish was cooked under and in fact one of the pieces was cold in the center. The batter was not sticking to the fish. It just kind of fell off. Each piece of fish was served on two corn tortillas. The fish was good size but with the fish and everything else on the tortilla, you could not really pick it up and maintain the presentation at the same time. The plate was super hot and the tortilla's were soggy on the bottom which also made it hard to pick them up so we ate them with a fork which kind of deconstructs the tacos. I presented all of this to our server. I did not ask for anything for free. All she said was sorry. It is my opinion that when a customer has a valid complaint, and in today's online review culture, they should have done something or at the very least sent the manager over. read more

A friend and I stopped here for lunch a few weeks back. I have driven by for years and never stopped to try it. The decor is amusing and very cheesy but fun. The wait staff are okay. They could be a ting big more attentive after order is taken. The food is perfectly okay if a little on the bland side. The beans too sweet but the rice very good. I live about a block away from this restaurant for about 5 years and finally tried about 3 weeks ago. We arrived right before happy hour started (unbeknownst to us) but there were no other customers. Then they all came flooding in! It's definitely a place for regulars. We had speedy, attentive service from start to finish! Food we hardly had to wait for and it was piping hot, correct and oh so yummy! They have an enchilada "bar" on the menu which I was elated about because they are my fave!!!! My boyfriend had a couple beers which they were very prompt with refilling and my water as well! I'm not sure if this is the "norm" since this was my first time going there but I was impressed. If you like to overpay for bad to mediocre Mexican food this is the place to go. Service wasn't great, we had to ask several times for refills on salsa and drinks. Food prices start at around 20 per plate. Portions are on the smaller side and they skimp out a ton on the meat. Chicken fajitas were small in general with chicken here and there. Beer fajitas were similar. Shrimp and mushrooms had 6 total shrimp that were definitely not the prawns they claimed to be. It turned out being for the best there were not a lot on it, because they tasted like they were frozen and thawed out a few times and then overcooked, slightly reminiscent of shrimp jerky. read more

This rating is this high because of the bar! Cool bar area, fun staff make this a great place to have a margarita.....I mean only a margarita!! We do not like the food except for the tortilla soup. They set out chips for you with salsa and bean dip. We really do not care for either. Do yourself a favor and do not order the fajitas. They just were not good and way too expensive. Their tostadas and tacos are not good either. Along with the tortilla soup, I can also stomach the cheese enchiladas . That truly is it. They have an outdoor patio that cranks up a bit in summer. I am not in Spokane very often but when I am there I must go here. I am usually in a large group (10 or more) and the service is always outstanding. I have never had a bad meal. I had the huckleberry margarita and it was amazing, my friend had the Mexican mule and she loved it. The bean dip is the best dip I have ever had and I have never been a fan of beans. All of their meats are perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. I would recommend this place to everyone. read more

Spokane has two major problems areas in food Chinese and Mexican Being a transplant from socal where authentic Mexican restaurants are more plentiful then gas stations it has become a real challenge to find anything that you can even consider edible up here. (De Leons is one exception) Some friends were visiting from socal and we saw this restaurant while driving by, they wanted to try it but I strenuously warned them about Mexican restaurants up here being severely under par. He asked if we had eaten at this one I said no, we tried it and renamed it Casa de Caca. No offense but Taco bell is more authentic and better tasting then this place was. Can you say canned refried beans and mostly likely bagged fiesta Mexican style rice? How about an authentic Mexican salad that was served with "ranch" dressing. And the surely server who said that you cannot take cheese or sour cream off of a order and refused to do it. To top it all off the prices were high - ugghhhhh. read more

This is a completely biased review. You shouldn't listen to my advice on this one. The bartender at Casa de Oro is exceptional. He is the hardest working man I know. I have known him for years. I really have no idea how he fits everything into his busy schedule. You can trust that he will work hard to be a great host at the bar. You should give him lots of tips. WARNING: do not come to this restaurant if you want: -polite staff -a manager who cares about his customer base -a menu with clear items So here's the full story: It's bloomsday weekend here in Spokane, most restaurants are very busy--we understand that. We called ahead to ask if a table would be available this evening, and the staff could not provide us with an answer (we have a party of 12)--again, we understand, it's a big party and busy weekend so we went down and decided to wing it. They were able to fit us in immediately, yay! The adult members of our party wanted to order a drink, and this is where the trouble started. We could not get the happy hour deals despite it being the proper time because we were not sitting in the bar area (there were children in the party). Food ordering was difficult due to the crowded atmosphere and slight communication barrier (again, understandable but annoying) and it took about 20 minutes for the food to arrive. Most dishes in our party were correct, but mine (I ordered the Casa De Oro burrito) was not--the burrito menu clearly states that all items are served with rice and beans, and my burrito came with rice and beans in the burrito but none on the side. When I asked the staff about this (and pointed out that the menu said the item came with the sides) I was blown off and told I was not telling the truth. I decided I wasn't going to make my party wait while they fixed the dish, and asked it to be returned to the kitchen and taken off my bill. Because of this we received OPEN RIDICULE from our waiter, calling us a "problem table" and completely ignoring me when I tried to garner his attention. At that point I asked for a manager, told him the situation, showed him the menu and inconsistency in the item and he insisted that because there were rice and beans inside the burrito, it did not also come on the side. This wasn't specified on the menu, and he basically stared at me with glazed over eyes and said "uh-huh". I told him his staff was rude, same dead eyed stare. I eventually gave up and walked away, made sure it was taken off the bill and walked out, warning every customer in my wake that the servers won't be happy if they have to actually work and be polite for their money. read more
