Primos has a council Bluffs and Omaha location. The Council Bluffs location is a little bit smaller but still offers the same wonderful food choices. There is a dedicated parking in Council Bluffs however, it's a bit small. You may have to choose street parking for restaurant access. Both locations are open all day which offers a nice selection for mid afternoon dining. Daily specials and happy hours are available throughout the week. Check their website for details We were pleasantly greeted and quickly seated and jumped right into their selection of dips while we try to make a decision on our main meal. What I really like about their menu is they do allow for a pick two or pick three options that includes your own choice of sides. Their street corn side is one of my favorites. The Council Bluffs location offers more of a sports bar atmosphere while their Omaha location has outdoor seating if you're looking for a place to sit in the middle of the summer (LOL). Had a late lunch at Primo's and enjoyed it very much. My wife and I both had the Tuesday special which is Chimichanga (1 beef and 1 chicken). Plenty of meat in a good-sized meal and nicely flavored. They were topped with queso blanco, lettuce, and tomato with a side of refried beans. Service was great. The restaurant was clean and orderly. Complimentary chips and salsa -- good mild flavor. Visited this Restaurant after a very busy weekend of over 5k miles traveled by air and land. We don't have very good Mexican food back home in Hawaii, so this was going to be my final meal before flying home early the next morning . When I pulled into the neighborhood I figured it would be a sleepy place like the surrounding area, but was surprised when I got to the restaurant and the lot was quite busy. I decided to order my food and head back to the hotel rather than dine in, but was quickly greeted by the pleasant staff, and my order was taken soon after I indicated I was ready. I had the carne asada tacos, and ordered the first burrito (beef) I've eaten in over 20 years. Man this stuff is GOOD!! The portions were very generous, the burrito was huge and tasty , and the salsa.. perfect! Primos easily slid into my top 5 Mexican restaurants ever, and though I am not in council bluffs often, if my travels ever bring me back here it will be my first stop, not my last! read more

The food is your typical Mexican flair. The ground beef is a little more spicier than most places. Food comes out fast and is very flavorful. When busy there might be a wait but not too long. Local beer was a citrus IPA, not my favorite but many would like it. Family oriented with friendly service. Parking lot is small but plenty of street parking. Place can seat couples to larger parties. Salads were large. Free refills on salsa. Menu is more basic than typical Mexican restaurants. Worth making the trip. read more

I have to agree with another reviewer, I have no idea why the reviews are so good. The chips had no salt probably from a bag, the beef was in not seasoned, the rice was not undercooked, but sort of hard and dry. It looked like Spanish rice, but it had no flavor. The refried beans weren't that great either and a little too loose. The place itself looked very nice and sort of upscale and the staff was supper friendly. That's the only reason they get 2 stars. Guacamole was $9.99 and you get a 1/3 cup for $10. Will I go back? Nope, next time I'll drive to north O for Alberados. Primos was not primo IMHO. read more

Service: polite, but rushed -- they clearly serve regulars, so there was no question that we should know instantly what we wanted to drink and eat. Food: Decent. Generous portions. It is Mexican for Iowa, so a lot more emphasis on cheese sauce than chili sauce or salsa. Drink: Good beers. Didn't attempt the margs this time. Overall: I'd rather give it 3.5 stars. Some of the best Mexican food in CB (and the Omaha metro in general). I found the quality dipped when they opened their midtown Omaha location but it seems to be back now. Salsa, queso, and guac are all good. Portions are more than generous and the price point is reasonable. They have a fun looking collection of margaritas, and my SIL enjoys them. Waitress should be fired! Waitress took food drink order. No further Interaction, no drink refills or dessert offers no checking how food was. No interaction until she saw we had our payments on the table. The waitress name on receipt was Mary R. She came said I guess you want your bill . We said yes please. my 89 year old mom paid cash . Myself debit. Waitress says rudely says I'll guess you want your change. Mom says yes please. So we get up walk out and Mary R FOLLOWS us to our car in the parking lot. wanting to know how her service was we said ok to deescalate the situation then Demanded to know WHY we DIDNT give her a tip! She was rude and agressive and demanding. I was agasp. I called the manager when I got home because the more I thought about it the more mad I got. The manager was non empathetic just stated I'm sorry you had that experience I will address it . As I explained we felt harassed there was a chuckle in his voice. He was monotone and not sincere. Tipping is at the discretion of the patron and this woman did not provide only the bare minimum service with a rude attitude. I tip accordingly to service and attitude of wait staff. Excellent Mexican food can often times be found in the most unusual parts of town. That is definitely the case with Primos. A former gas station turned into a restaurant has had a facelift since I last visited. The guacamole was of excellent quality. The Queso was average. It needed more spice to liven it up. The two chicken enchiladas may have been the best I've ever had. It was so cheesy and the chicken was flavored well and was top notch quality. The rice was great too. The service was fantastic! Our server was very attentive and personable. The other wait staff was friendly as well. I went to Primo's with my mom, niece, and my daughter last weekend and it was an okay experience. I walked in and the sign said 'Wait to be seated'; so I waited for nearly 5 minutes, just to get a table, which is a long time to get a table. Their kids menu is pretty good so my daughter was able to find something pretty quickly. I ordered the Chimichanga but it was just okay. IMO, the chimi had too much cheese inside and the chicken was a tad bland. The queso that came on top was really good though. The prices were average. The chimi was around $10. I also tried the fried ice cream, which was pretty tasty and definitely shareable. The service was pretty fast and the waitress was on top of refills and questions. All in all, a lot of people I've talked to really likes this place but I was pretty indifferent when walking out. I would like to go back and try some of their other offerings. read more

Heard from a friend that this was a good place to eat. That advice did not pan out. First thing out of the gate is that we checked the prices online to see what lunch would cost. Once we arrived the menu prices did not match up and the prices for lunch were approximately $2 more than advertised online. Then with no one else in the entire restaurant, we were brought water and with four waitresses standing in eye sight, we waited for someone/anyone to come take out order. After 10 minutes of waiting we decided that this was not the place for us and got up and left. A very disappointing experience and we can not recommend anyone else to go there as well. read more

Primos is our go to for Mexican food in CB. Our experiences have always been great and the food is amazing and always exceeds our expectations. The chimichanga and fried flour tortilla tacos are out go to items. The kids food is great and the American food like hamburgers are always really good too! Also don't pass up the queso and salsa. The queso is like a queso blanco and is light and creamy and oh so good with the homemade chips which are thin and crispy and addicting. I've reviewed the place in the past but a recent experience made me change my rating from 4 to 5 star. We ordered delivery and there was an issue with my online order and Raquel called me to confirm my order was correct. She didn't have to go out of her way but she did. Then we ended up missing a couple items after it was delivered and they were amazing fixing it and getting us out items quick. I hate complaining and it makes me anxious calling but they were so gracious and handled it amazingly. This was the only time this has ever happened. Sometimes how a business responds to a mixup goes a long way when it comes to customer loyalty. Out of probably 50 experiences this is the only time this has ever happened. Please patronize this place! They are an amazing local joint and totally worth it. I tried their breakfast this morning, and it was very good. I ordered it to go. I tried the Emilio AM burrito with bacon and hot salsa. It was a tasty one, 9/10 would eat again.
