The birria is fresh and delicious. The service was fast, respectful and genuinely a joy to talk to. Ambience could use some work but for what's being done with the place it's fine. The food is good. It's not cheap, but you normally get a good portion, and it's filling. I really want to love this place, but the inconsistency is really starting to make it difficult. First off, towards the beginning of the year, when we tried to call in orders, they had changed their number, and when you looked it up, it came up as a completely different name: "Taqueria Mucho." There was no explanation, it still said Birrieria Tijuana on the building, and there was no mention of any changes. Over the summer, they weren't even staying open their advertised hours, although that seems to have been resolved. Also, you used to get lots of onions, limes, and sauces to go with your tacos, but even that has changed for the worse. Last time, we ordered 12 tacos and got two bags of onions and limes. Each bag is good for about two tacos. This time, just one bag for 10 tacos, and the limes have definitely seen better days. I understand if they felt they were wasting food and wanted to changed the portions, but then communicate. I get not everyone eats them. I personally don't need 5. I'd have been fine with 2 or 3 bags, but not 1. Then, they tie the takeout bags off, so you can't check your order. Nothing is worse than getting home to find out you don't have onions. Certainly not driving 10-15 mins each way to go back and have cold food. The other taco place I go to asks you each time how many salsas you want and gives you exactly that many. Would be pretty easy to do that here. Furthermore, they now use to-go containers that don't breathe, so I got home to 10 soggy tacos that cost over $50. Maybe they ended up with the wrong ones from a vendor, but then take a few minutes to cut holes in like other places do. I love how many choices are on the menu! I chose the cheese tacos, horchata, and a side of salsa (which you can find at the self serve salsa bar). We were greeted right away and immediately got seated, which was great. The server was so nice and checked in with us the right amount of times, not too much and not too little. My wife, son and I had dinner here last week. I tell ya, what Yelpers say about the friendliness and fast food service is correct! Right in the door our host/waiter is already greeting us with amazing enthusiasm considering how many hours he must've have already worked that day. I should've gotten his name because if the food had been a little bit better my rating would be five stars because he provides among the best wait service you'll find anywhere--and he was working all the tables alone!! After we were shown to our table and handed menus, the Margaritas we ordered arrived within minutes, about the same time we received our tortilla chips and guacamole. The chips were most interesting, quartered slices of deep fried corn tortillas. There's also a salsa bar with various salsas and a Pico de Gallo. The in-store menu is longer than the online version. My son and I ordered the Carne Asada (cooked medium rare) and my wife ordered the Tacos Dorado, smoked corn tortillas with her chosen beef filling. The servings ARE immense. Mine was so big that for the first time in my career as a Mexican restaurant customer I couldn't finish eating it all. It seemed like at least a half pound of skirt steak sliced into large sections. The seasoning was fair and the steak was cooked beyond medium rare but mostly tender, with a few very chewy spots. All entrees came with a side of a small bowl of cooked pinto beans sprinkled with what looked like Cotija cheese. There was no side of Mexican rice. The Carne Asada came with the traditional steamed corned tortillas. But I've had better cooked and more tasty Carne Asada elsewhere--but not in such large portions. All this version needs is a more aggressive seasoning and more char on the outside. And of course to actually cook the meat to the temperature ordered. Surprisingly, for me the star of the show was the sliced in half chorizo sausage. They've always been too hot for my tastes, but this one was nicely spicy and packed with flavor. My wife liked her Tacos Dorado and even let me try one. It was very tasty. I was hoping for stronger Mexican flavors but what we were served, while expensive, wasn't bad. My wife and I are keen to try more of the menu so we will return. But the primary attraction for returning is that host/waiter. He and that quick kitchen that churns out orders within minutes provide an exemplary dining experience. read more

Ok so hear me out ... I ordered this thinking it will have a lot of flavor and being very hungry. The rice and beans very unflavored and that's a lot so say considering that it's Mexican and most Mexican places have awesome seasoning right ? Where is my carne asada in the quesadilla? That's ground meat inside of tons of cheese. Hey I get it quesadilla tons of cheese but man there is a reason it's a hole plate and I asked the protein inside. Will I eat it ? Absolutely, I am starving . Do I recommend ? No absolutely no , and to finalize the entire horchata leaves you a sandy texture in your mouth and a desire of chugging water of how sweet it is. Wow! What a wonderful culinary experience! We live in Port Orchard and have been waiting patiently for this restaurant to open! They are open now and highly recommended! The waitstaff is great! The interior is much larger than we originally thought it might be perfect for large parties. We ordered the burrito (one of their most popular menu items), the birria ramen and a birria taco. They bring to each table a lovely dish with fresh chopped onions and cilantro, green salsa and red salsa! Now...to the birria ramen...sooo good, so rich and deep with flavor...spiced but not too spicy...full of beef and noodles! Recommend adding the chopped onion and cilantro too. All dishes were so good! We will for sure be back...but must save room for the house made churros sitting in a scoop of vanilla ice cream and topped with whipped cream and cherry! The loaded fries were good but the fries flavor over took, the Dorado Tacos lacked flavor. The ramen had loads of flavor, the birria tacos very tasty but very meaty. The Bacon jalapeño very good and brought the spice. The price is on the higher side, would recommend looking for the items with loads of flavor. Will try their other locations as I saw items I would like to try. Churro and ice cream through us for a curve as they did not let me know they were cream filled. I have loved their menu since they reopened and I'm so glad they did since this is so close to my house. We enjoyed the cheesy tacos with consommé and a delish mango chamoy and tajin drink . My husband ordered the Carne Asada fries, which were stuffed with meat! I definitely did not feel shorted at all. For dessert we ordered the plantains and wow it was delicious with the dipping sauce.. They have definitely added more amazing food to their menu and lots of yummy desserts. They've just been open a couple weeks so I will be back and edit this review if things get better. 1. The food is incredible, just like at all their other locations. 2. This location is unlike the others in that is has more of a nice sit-down restaurant vibe. The other locations emphasize take-out more. And the other locations have more construction/blue collar folks, whereas this location seems like I shouldn't go there with my dusty work clothes on. 3. Because they are not properly setup for takeout, there is no flow near the door. There is no easy menu to view on the wall like other locations. They handed me a dinner menu. Actually I was given a drink menu first, and then the food menu. Everyone is kind of mashed together near the front door. There isnt room for a proper line. There is no stationary place to order. It is simply a waitress with a writing pad floating around. It is very disorganized and frustrating. I will totally go back because the food is epic.
