I love writing positive reviews and really wish this could be one, but..... We showed up around 5:30 on a Wednesday for a cocktail and light bite. We were the ONLY people sitting at the bar, and there were 3-5 employees behind or around the bar. It was next to impossible to get anyone's attention to order even though the bartenders were only about 6-8 feet in front of us. It was bizarre. I had to get out of my seat and step around the corner to catch the bartender's attention to order a drink. It was as if they were actively ignoring us. We have both worked in food & beverage for many years. This scenario made no sense to us as we would have been easy money in their pockets vs. being tipped out by servers. The cocktails are yummy, and their food is great (eaten there many times before). Seems like there needs to be better employee training. Go there if you don't mind waiting or getting up to flag down the servers. Might be a while before we go back there..... read more

I stopped here on a Monday afternoon with a few weird hours between appointments. Absolutely a great choice! I had the Ramos & Mushroom tacos - and stuffed myself with delicious chips instead of the recommended three tacos. Everything was super fresh and delicious! This is not a Mexican restaurant that caters the bland tastes. The right amount of kick and spice and vibrant flavors. I also had a Fresca (watermelon) which was super delicious. Watching the margaritas and Michelades (spelling?) go by, I was super sad not to be able to have one! The service was so friendly, the perfect point of checking in on you and leaving you to enjoy your lunch. I ate at the bar, and will be back for sure! read more

$11 for a street taco!?... the fish taco tasted really fishy, woke up in the middle of the night throwing up, possibly food poisoning... the side of rice was not Spanish or Mexican, it was white rice... no flavor... and my mojito had to be re-made three times because they kept making it with tequila instead of white rum. The only thing going for this place is the atmosphere and fancy decor. I will definitely not eat here again. I'm appalled with the prices , it's just not justified for what you get. I love the veranda and stepped into puesto for a quick lunch with my sister. I love the atmosphere inside and the music is nice. I love their guac and chips and the watermelon fresca aqua is soo delicious! My sister had the shrimp bowl i'm not a fan of shrimp but the bowl itself was delicious. Puesto is a fun dinner or date night spot in the Veranda. The interior is bright and airy, with fun art and a great bar. I appreciate that they have ample outdoor seating with heat lamps. My favorite items are the filet mignon taco and esquite. The filet mignon taco meat is rolled in slightly crispy cheese and is packed with flavor. Their chips and salsa are delicious too. I have dined in as a group or two and a larger group, and the service has been great each time. I knocked one star off because it is pricey, with some tacos being about $9 each. read more

There's a lots of choices to eat here in Veranda. While looking for a place to eat, we decided to try this restaurant. Upon entering inside, we were surprised how big this restaurant is. As soon as we get in, the lady greeted us and we had our table right away. The suspended bar shelf is so cool with all kinds of liquor bottles. We ordered 3 kinds of Tacos. Filet mignon taco was very tender, tasty and served with all toppings. Pozole taco- Delicious mix of sweet, tangy flavor and load with all good stuff. Mushroom taco - meatless taco that has a fabulous flavor. Lots of filling Ceviche Verde- I found it so fancy with japanese peanuts. It was small, dry but it was good, I ate it all. I was just expecting the other version of Ceviche. Serves with all types of fresh salsa, verde, taquera, roma and ranchera. I would definitely come back. Highly recommended. read more

We here to get an appetizer and a few drinks. Walked in a got seat a the bar. This place has a really nice vibe and the bar is roomy and big with lots of seating. We had the Potato Taquitos and they were very good and had a chili oil that was amazing good. We had a Paloma, Spicy Margarita and Mexican candy shots. If you go try the Mexican Candy shot they have 3 flavors Pineapple, Mango and Watermelon. We had the Watermelon and it was delicious. Ambience is nice, service was good and food is flavorful. We started with the chips and salsa, the chips came out warm and salsa was mild with a good flavor. Then we had margaritas, passion fruit and guava. Both were very tasty and not too sweet, which was a very nice surprise. Lastly we ordered the ceviche and the bowl with filet mignon. My friend enjoyed her ceviche minus the peanuts ( yes there were peanuts) and my bowl was good. I subtracted one star because for what the food is, it's very pricey. But I think that is what is expected at the Veranda shopping center. read more

Walt from Walt's Adventures here adventuring on Christmas Eve in Concord, California. I revisit Puesto. We had reservations at 2 and was immediately shown to our private booth. The service was excellent, the food was excellent in taste and presentation, and the drinks were superb. However, 4 out of 5 stars for drink presentation for the 1st round were perfectly designed drinks as seen in the pictures. The 2nd round were simply drinks in cups. The taste was consistent. Also, the guacamole arrived after our meal. It was replaced as the first attempt found it's way to a different table. We were told that it would be subtracted from our bill. This was good form. It was, although, not subtracted and we paid for the opps. Still though, a nearly perfect experience and I look forward to a third attempt in the future. read more
