We used to love this place, but was very disappointed in the food when we last visited. While the burritos are delicious, the portion size had shrunk maybe 25%, and that's being conservative. The chef's salsa bar selection was poor outside of two that were very good. One had a definitive off putting taste that can only be described as tasting like a bandaid. The kids quesadilla plate portions were incredibly small. Overall okay food, small portions, and egregiously priced for what you get. Again, we used to love this place, not sure what changed. From the moment I walked in I was really impressed with the bar. A modern yet rustic vibe. The restaurant was bigger than I expected it to be. VERY aesthetically pleasing. All the waiters we talked to were really nice and on top of things. We didn't wait long to get our food which was nice. And I don't know if it was because we were really hungry but everything was so good. My absolute favorite was the frozen horchata! It's a must try if you like horchata! This is an outdoor party spot! Located in the Veranda shopping center in Concord this place is truly one of the places to be on a sunny day. When our waiter asked us if we would like an appetizer we asked him what he would recommend and he said the My partner Grace ordered the filet mignon & the Baja fish she said she really liked those. Esquite that was really good it reminds me of the corn you buy from the vendors that put chilli Mayo lime in a cup but much lighter. I ordered the Verduras, and Tamarindo shrimp the tamarindo shrimp had great flavor and I really love the verduras tacos. When they brought me my mimosa to begin with the glass was dirty and I had to send it back. I got the Cesar salad and it was DRENCHED in dressing and the lettuce was not chopped so I had to cut the salad. The black beans were basic as well. The total for this basic meal came out to $50!!! I went to Puesto as a default to the restaurant I had initially had in mind which had a long wait list. I had been here before and remembered that the food was good and the bar was amazingly nice. Although the initial receptionist was a little too pretentious for my liking, I was hungry and wanted to eat. They are serving indoors again, but when I looked outside at the nice day, the patio became too alluring. Overall the ambiance at the restaurant was great, the food (two soft carnitas tacos and a fish taco) was exceptional and the service was very attentive without being intrusive. What a wonderful meal. Granted we went during one of the busiest times of the year, Cinco de Mayo, we felt that the restaurant wasn't fully ready for all the patrons on this special day. Had reservations at 5pm and checked in by 4:45 and the host informed us that we won't be seated until close to 5pm. Sounded fair. 5pm has come and gone, so we checked in again, and the host said the server hasn't come in yet for his shift to cover the area outside the resto closest to the fountains. We asked if the tables had been cleaned and he said yes, but after wiping it with the wipes we brought, it doesn't look like it's be wiped for a long time, because it came out black. Finally got seated almost close to 530 and got our chips and salsa, which was pretty good but with no silverware or napkins. We decided to drink since it's cinco de Mayo and the margaritas were pretty expensive. I asked the server if the fruits are fresh in the margarita and he says yes, but they weren't. They were more of a flavored liquor. We didn't see a speckle of fresh fruit and to pay over $15 a glass, and be told it's fresh, it was disappointing. I don't mind paying for a good concoction but this one didn't fit the bill. Not sure if it's the sheer amount of customers that evening that made the experience not the very best. The tacos were pretty good and we liked the filet mignon the best, and we also had the guac, but thought that was little pricey too. The little one did enjoy the cheese quesadillas. This place has potential since it has a nice interior and side patio plus our server tried hard even if he's the only one serving 6 outside tables. We had to ask a couple of times for some things and waited a bit. It's our first time dining here. Perhaps it would have been better overall if it's wasn't such a super busy day. read more

Why 5 stars- Taco Tuesday and 3 employees make this place... Bartenders- Ke'Ante and Marlene and waitress- Yesenia. I am a regular and they make me feel valued. They know my name. They know my drinks. They know my order. They provide the best service! I've had other bartenders, servers, and management interaction, most of which have been subpar. I've literally walked out for such poor service. Because of Ke'Ante, Marlene, Yesenia, and the kitchen staff, I keep coming back. Best filet mignon tacos, ever! They just happen to be on the Taco Tuesday menu. However, they are unnecessarily very strict about honoring discounts. TT starts at 3pm, is dine in ONLY, and you'll want to make a reservation if you don't wanna wait or be turned away. Tuesday's you can also get a house margarita for half price before 5 PM. If you want a great experience, ask for them by name! Dear Management, kindness and great service go along way. A happy customer will return and might tell a friend or two.
