First of all when we first got there, I was sat for my party of four. My whole party wasn't there yet the young lady that was tending to me was this African-American young lady oddly enough once my party got there she told me that somebody else is gonna be taking over this section however, we still saw her serving everyone around us, which was very odd. She never once introduced us to Alan who she said would now be our server we have three different people coming to our table have no idea what's going on. The food was overpriced and very bland service was terrible !!!! we spent over $300 for crappy service and crappy food will not return ever stay away from this place. Chips & Salsa: The chips were really crispy & good. The salsa was different & had a nice kick to it. Puesto Perfect Guacamole ($13): This guac came with huge cubes of parmigiano reggiano. I'm sorry to say, but this was the worse guac I've had in my life & it does not pair well with the cheese cubes. The portion size was also small for $13. For the tacos, we got the quesabirria, filet mignon, carnitas, main lobster, & baja fish. They all look pretty similar when they came out since they're wrapped in the crispy melted cheese (refer to picture) so presentation isn't that great. What's interesting is all the tacos came with 3 corn tortillas each. I honestly couldn't tell the difference in taste between the meats that much but the favorite was the filet mignon. They do provide a generous amount of meat but that taste was overwhelming. My favorite taco was the main lobster which did not have the crispy cheese & looked more appealing. All the flavors worked well together with the crispy onions really giving it the umami bomb. Puesto Perfect ($14): This was pretty good. Mezcal Flight- El Jolgorio Madrecuishe, Banhez Jabali, Yuu Baal Anejo ($35): I took a sip of each, and they were so strong! I felt the burn immediately but my fiance love the strong taste & burn. Horchata Loca ($15): It wasn't as sweet as I thought it would be thanks to the rum. The drink was refreshing & tasted so delicious that you don't need dessert afterwards. read more

Puesto is located in the far left corner of Veranda in Concord. the seating arrangements were tables and vinyl benches. service was outstanding. the food was complex: many layers of flavor but not nuanced enough to let all of them deliver their notes. offerings: quacamole, snacks & sides, ceviche, tacos, sides, salads, bowls. note: tacos all one piece. eats: baja taco (9) "beer battered (fresh) line caught fish, shredded lettuce, avocado, crema, morita sauce" wrapped in lettuce. -the last piece of the fish was tasty. crema, avocado noticeable. morita sauce not. chicken al pastor (7) "crispy melted cheese, braised Jidori chicken, hibiscus & chipotle tinga, avocado, pina habanero pico -the chicken taste wasn't noticeable, all the other flavors just a minor blip, forgotten after eaten quesabirria(7.5) crispy melted cheese, braised short rib, jalisco salsa, pickled radish, avocado -short rib noticeable for it's chewiness, flavor not noticed. others nuanced. -passionfruit & mango shrimp ceviche (16) -mexican wild shrimp cut into tasteless smaller pieces, with fruits, avocado & a sesame garlic chili oil that got me coughing. The food is decent and a bit expensive, but you are paying for the ambiance. Puesto is nice and clean with high ceilings, and a good place to hangout with a group. I went with a group, and we agreed the food was overpriced and alright, but we still had a nice time. They served us complimentary chips and red salsa. I ordered a carnitas plate. The flavors were decent, but I would've preferred some texture, since everything was a bit soft. My main critique is the dish was very watery. I think it had to do with the vegetables, beans, and salsa all mixing together. The food was decent, but not noteworthy. It reminded me of chipotle but for twice the price. The Veranda in Concord is crackin' every Friday for a reason- it houses some delicious restaurants and last night was no exception. Came here on a Friday eve for dinner with a coworker friend and decided to try Puesto. We had arrived early for our reservation and although we saw there were some spaced out empty tables in the patio, we still had to wait 20 min to get seated. Interior was stylish and vibrant and the showstopper was the beautiful bar. We sat outside since the weather was nice. Our genial server, Roberto, informed us that they were out of guacamole and mango margaritas (it was only 7:30p) - I don't think they expected the high volume of folks that were dining in. I mean, we are still in a pandemic, but this was also a restaurant on the Veranda, which usually has Downtown Disney crowd vibes. Although we were a tad bummed, we ended up with some innovative, strong and flavorful beverages. They know how to make their drinks! *Yoga Pants *Passionfruit Mule- loved this! *A DIY drink my friend suggested Service was ok for the rest of the evening - bar was backed up so drinks took a little longer to arrive but the food came out promptly. Kudos to my Yelp fam reviews that intro'd me to a "secret menu" item called the "Hero taco," which is lobster and filet mignon wrapped in crispy melted cheese on a handmade corn tortilla. OMG- sign me up. I got that and a Baja fish taco. The Hero taco seriously rocked my tastebuds - love at first bite, party in your mouth, damn that's hella good- all facts. Filet mignon and lobster were super tender and flavorful, the fresh avo slice on top and crispy melted cheese tied it all together with that soft delicious tortilla. It had me savoring each bite slowly when all I wanted to do was gobble down 3 of them. (Hero- $11, Baja fish-$9). Definitely recommend the Hero taco from the secret menu. Baja fish taco was delicious as well but I think I would get 2 of the Heroes next time. FYI - this place is one of those fancy Mexican spots so don't expect the authentic taco truck/street food menu and prices. We actually got full after 2 tacos, a shared Esquite (like Elote) appetizer, and our drinks so if you're up for a splurge, it's a treat! read more

We made a reservation for a sunny Saturday afternoon for a special birthday lunch. This is a place we've always wanted to try, and this was the perfect occasion! We ordered: - (2) Maine lobster tacos 9/10 - shrimp taco - (2) Baja fish tacos 6/10 - citrus cured corvina ceviche 7/10 - tres de leches 10/10 - mango limón agua fresca 8/10 - mango margarita 10/10 Overall, we thought the food was good, but it's really hard to love it when we regularly eat tacos and ceviche from taco trucks every weekend in Oakland. I guess our standards are a bit high... Truth be told, if I came back, the only things I would order here are: - Maine lobster tacos - tres de leches We thought those two items were exceptional and stood out! Honestly the best tres de leches we've had! Maybe next time we should try other tacos. (Note that they do have taco Tuesday!) Reasons on why I was not thrilled about the Baja fish taco was because it lacked in flavor. The fish was bland, there wasn't enough sauce to fish ratio. The ceviche was not exceptional in flavor, but we can definitely give them credit for very fresh fish with a distinct citrus flavor. Not enough spice though :( Overall, they get a 4/5 stars because the flavors were unique. You truly cannot find a delicious Maine lobster taco elsewhere, however, I would skip the Baja fish taco and ceviche(and get them at a Oakland taco truck instead!). We came here for a date night of dinner and movies. This restaurant is the perfect location if you plan to go to the next door movie theatre. They are super fast and efficient. We were in and out in less than an hour. Food: We ordered 3 tacos each. The filet mignon one is a *chef's kiss *, carnitas was okay and the chicken Al pastor tasted a tad too sweet for my liking. Drinks: I ordered a paloma and didn't care for it. Paloma's are easy drink so I am disappointed. Desserts: very limited. They had two options. Nothing interesting so I forgot. I stopped by the Veranda for a take-out lunch with my 3yr old. We ordered the chicken taquitos, since it was the lightest thing and cheapest I could find on the menu at $15. I then ordered a regular margarita to go from the regular menu. All together the bill was $30. When I picked up my order, they packaged it well but then handed me an airline bottle of pre-made margarita. I had to ask for a cup to go. I was stunned....I expected a bar-made margarita (since that's what they're known for)...and for $15!!!!! The only nice part was sitting by the fountain outside. Sorry.
