A small but comfortable inn in a great location. 15 minute walk to the beach. Tim the innkeeper is super, and will do just about anything to make your stay better. We came here to spend the weekend away and it was absolutely amazing! From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and at home. It is cozy, quaint & absolutely lovely! Love the front porch area and the area to eat breakfast. The breakfast was amazing. The yogurt parfait was so good! I wish we could have stayed for more than the two nights. Love the decor and our room was so cute. We stayed in room 5. The only thing was the bed was a bit hard, but still nonetheless was n amazing weekend. It was a close walk into the main town although there was parking available as well. Very relaxing and nice to get away, cant wait to come back! Hoping to make this a yearly trip. read more

Where do I even begin? I tend to rate most bed and breakfasts five stars, so that leaves me in a bit of pickle since Puffin Inn is superior to every single one I've stayed in. Tim and Michele run their inn with such love and pride that you feel more like a relative or close friend than a paying customer. After my experience here, I can't even fathom staying at another place in Ogunquit. For starters, the location is unbeatable. It's far enough from downtown that you're not right in the thick of things, but close enough that it's only a quick 10-minute walk away. The inn itself is a charming three-story home with lush grounds and a lovely front porch complete with rocking chairs. I can't say enough good things about Room 6 on the third floor. It was big, bright, and beautiful with a cozy bed, spacious bathroom, and even a mini fridge. As a bonus, it was super quiet since it doesn't share a single wall with either of the other two rooms on the floor. If weather permits, you have to breakfast al fresco on the front porch for a wonderfully tranquil eating experience. Coffee is self-serve in the breakfast room and located next to the baked good of the day. Next up is fresh fruit either plain or topped with granola and yogurt. For the main course, there is a sweet and savory option each morning and it's nearly impossible to choose between them. My favorites were the lemon curd stuffed French toast with blueberry sauce and the breakfast pizza. And because he doesn't have enough to do already, Tim was our faithful server and conversationalist each morning. It has to be said that Tim is one amazing dude. I don't know how he does all that he does without a hitch and always with an upbeat attitude and the biggest smile. From check-in to checkout and literally everything in between, Tim masterfully covers it all and then some. He makes himself available for any need or question, and he'll remind you of that fact throughout your stay. The morning we went to the beach Tim had the beach caddy promptly waiting for us. He even offered to pick us up if we ever got stuck anywhere. I'm still floored that I booked a room at Puffin Inn during peak summer season less than a month before arrival and practically every room was still available. I know Maine is "Vacationland" and there is hardly a shortage of places to spend that vacation, but I think that's just plain nuts. It takes super human customer service skills to successfully manage so many moving pieces with the end result being just about the most perfect bed and breakfast ever. We stayed here for 3 nights. Michele and Tim were amazing hosts. This was our first time in Ogunquit and we are planning to make this an annual vacation. Our room was perfect! The breakfasts in the morning were spectacular and they completely exceeded our expectations. You are given a choice of a sweet or savory breakfast entree. For example we ate raspberry crepes one morning and another option was a breakfast scramble. Along with your entree they have fruit, granola and yogurt, as well as freshly baked pastries! It is only a short walk into town and the trolleys are great. For $1.50 you can hop on and it will take you from once side of town to the other. If you need to sneak some work in on your vacation, the WiFi is very fast! We can't wait to come back next year! read more

August 2018 Visit The Puffin Inn--a true gem! When my husband asked where I wanted to go for a few days this summer, I immediately said Ogunquit/the Puffin Inn. I had been for the first time back in May, and once again the experience was outstanding. It truly feels like a home away from home. From Tim and Michelle's (the innkeepers) warm, generous, and friendly demeanor, to the beautifully kept Victorian style Inn, charmingly decorated rooms, their attention to detail (lavender scented bathroom towels to beach umbrellas, chairs and towels for guests to borrow), and 5-star breakfasts--it truly is the place to stay and revisit again and again. The Inn is just far away from the hustle and bustle of the busy downtown, but close enough to walk to. My husband and I know that for as long as Tim and Michelle are the innkeepers, when in Ogonquit, the Puffin Inn is our place to stay! It's a must! May 2018 Visit-- My cousin and I can't say enough about the Puffin Inn. We stayed for a long weekend and from the moment we arrived until the time we left it was truly an experience. Thinking back on the wonderful Labor Day weekend spent in Ogunquit, my boyfriend and I both agreed that our favorite highlight from the trip was our stay at the Puffin Inn. The hospitality shown by innkeepers Michele and Tim was above any expectation I could've had and like other reviewers, this experience sets the standard for other B&B's that I'll be staying at in the future. So much more personable than your typical hotel and the residing guests all seemed to agree. Our room was on the 3rd/ top floor and it was very clean and spacious for two occupants. The room comes with a mini fridge, TV w/ DVD input, directories for local restaurants and services, and amazing "Puffin Inn- branded" scented soaps (which you really shouldn't take as they have full bottles on sale in the gift shop!) I also loved the close proximity to the main downtown area of Ogunquit from the inn, making for trips to the town a breeze. I really look forward to staying here the next time I'm in town. PS - I echo all the previous reviewers in raving about the delicious breakfast provided each morning! Just got back from a wonderful four-night stay at Puffin Inn. I must say I cannot praise this place enough! The host, Tim, was very considerate and kind, and thoroughly accommodating. One night he even went out of his way to drop us off at a restaurant so we'd make the dinner reservation on time! The room was very nice, and the bed was comfortable! The Puffin Inn is a lovely "home away from home" with friendly and accommodating hosts, Tim and Michele, who are genuinely welcoming. The rooms and the common areas are tastefully decorated, colorful, clean and comfortable. The grounds are well-manicured. The location of the inn is perfect - within walking distance of two beaches and pretty close in proximity to the downtown area. For those of you who prefer to leave your walking shoes at home, there is a trolley stop a few minutes away - so convenient! The baked goods are delightful and are homemade right at the inn. In addition to baking, Michele whips up amazing breakfast entrees, both tasty and creative! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and from the smiles and relaxed demeanors of the other guests, I'd say so did everyone else. Great B&B. Michelle and Tim are great hosts and very accommodating. We chose a room on the 3rd level (#8) and it was very comfortable and private. The bathroom is very small but adequate. Comfortable bed. I am a huge fan of breakfast. Restaurants that serve breakfast all day were designed with me in mind. I had the eggs Benedict florentine just minutes ago. Fabulous. Nice fresh spinach and tomatoes with the perfectly poached eggs and not too overpowering Benedict sauce. I am inspired to try and cook this dish myself. Tim gave us a great restaurant tip last night and we listened. He only recommends places that he and Michelle go to and like. We went to Varano's. Excellent. See me review. read more

My wife and I recently escaped to The Puffin' Inn for a quick getaway prior to the birth of our second child. The owners, (Tim and Michele) are excellent innkeepers. Upon arrival, Tim made us feel incredibly welcome. He spent a good 10-minutes orienting us to the area via a simple tourism map. He recommended some area restaurants (and showed the location on the map), gave us some "local" tips on where to find free long term parking, and even went so far as to tell us which places we might want to avoid. The breakfasts that he cooked for us each morning were all different and equally delicious. You are given a choice of a savory or sweet option and, on top of the main breakfast dish, every morning they put out coffee, tea, a freshly baked pastry of some kind or another, and serve fresh fruit w/ yogurt and granola. The room was very comfortable, clean, and appeared exactly as advertised in the picture on their website. Property was well maintained and there was a large variety of areas to sit within their garden to simply relax and take in some of the fresh Maine air. If you're planning to go to one of the beautiful white sand beaches in the area, the Puffin Inn will provide beach chairs, towels, caddies, etc. as well. All you need to do is ask. Bottom line: The Puffin Inn was a fantastic B&B that provided us some much needed solace and relaxation. Tim and Michele are the real deal! They are down to earth, welcoming and totally low stress. If you're planning on traveling to Ogunquit, I'd HIGHLY encourage you to consider laying your head at the Puffin Inn every evening. We surely will be visiting again as soon as we can! read more

I choose where I'm going to stay based on reviews. I'd like to save others from spending too much time deciding where to stay in Ogunquit, ME as my friend and I just spent two nights at the Puffin Inn B & B and it was wonderful. Every room has its own bathroom which is great when you are getting ready to start your day or head out in the evening. My friend and I each had our own rooms on the third floor of the Inn and were worried about getting our luggage up two flights of stairs. No need to worry as Tim, the owner, said to leave it all in the entry way and he'd get it up to our rooms right away. Same service as we were leaving and it was really appreciated. Each room is nicely decorated and sparkling clean. My friend had not stayed in a b & b before and the Puffin Inn surpassed all her expectations. The breakfast each morning was delicious; so good! They set out freshly brewed coffee, cream and sugar and homemade scones. This was followed by fresh fruit with vanilla yogurt and homemade granola. Tim didn't mind at all if you asked for no melon or just berries, etc. Then you had a choice of a sweet or savory breakfast entree and both were home made and delicious! We enjoyed meeting others staying at Puffin Inn and the owner Tim could not have been more friendly, helpful, and generous with his time making sure guests were happy during their stay. Just returned home from a 2 night stay at the Puffin Inn in Ogunquit, ME. Michele and Tim are two excellent hosts for this B&B along Route 1 about 3/4 mile outside of downtown Ogunquit. Room was spotless, the two breakfasts were great and the quietness of the private deck outside our room was just what was needed, to recharge the batteries! Where to begin?! My boyfriend and I stayed 2 nights in early nov. Checked in Fri/out Sun; the rooms are BEAUTIFULLY Decorated, intoxicatingly comfortable, and perfectly private ! Tim welcomed us with a wonderful smile & hospitality! We were given local-"in"advice (greatest parking, food,shopping) & a run down of the Inn. We were very happy with the room & we happened to get a gr8 deal on Groupon!! Breakfast choices were mouthwatering -delicious & HOMEMADE + being able to choose a time was very much appreciated! Michelle was friendly, funny & helpful - BOTH Tim & Michelle are new at "Inn-keeping" but they've seemed to have it well under control! We had absolutely ZERO complaints about anything !! I cannot say enough good things about my stay at the Puffin Inn last weekend! I was the planner for a very intimate Maine wedding and we needed the perfect location to host all of our wedding guests for the weekend. The Puffin Inn was an idyllic location, placed right in the heart of where our wedding party wanted to be. From the moment I inquired about availability to the final goodbyes on our way out, Tim and Michele were the consummate hosts. They welcomed everyone with open arms into their immaculate home. They went above and beyond in every aspect of our stay, from providing rides downtown to creating divine 3 course breakfasts on the porch every morning. The cleanliness of this place is unparalleled. It far exceeded my expectations, especially when compared to other B&B experiences I have had. The thought of leaving this place was so impossible that I even extended my stay an extra night! The Puffin is one of the best B&B's we've stayed at (Summer 2013). We refer to it fondly as the "standard" now whenever we're disappointed by other B&B's during our travels. The Puffin's hosts, Michele and Tim, are extremely warm and welcoming yet very real-life and relatable -- like instant friends (well, friends who offer you wine when you sit on the porch or prepare you cookies in the evening). Breakfast was scrumptious; having two options is great, especially if you share with a fellow houseguest and order both options! The location is a bit removed from (and quiet than) the charming ambiance of the downtown area, but still walkable (~0.5mi) if you like. We even walked to the public beach area, but that took about 30min (as opposed to the even-more-gorgeous Marginal Way path which you can access from downtown). Friends stayed in 3rd-floor Room 8, which we liked better than our Room 7 (8's wall-long windows on opposite sides of the room offer a beautifully-lit space and feeling of openness, plus Room 8 seems a bit bigger). Other friends stayed in 1st-floor Room 1, which is directly adjacent to the office and entrance, with windows looking onto the seating area of the front porch, so in Room 1 you will definitely keep your blinds and windows shut and get woken up at breakfast time (and likely with people coming in and out or talking out on the porch during summer months). It would be nice to be able to see the ocean from the home, but regardless, what a wonderful experience! read more

Outstanding stay!!! Tim & Michele are extremely contentious about EVERYTHING! We couldn't have felt more welcome or tended to and at the same time, have our space. It was a perfect balance. The room was absolutely perfect and beyond clean. I've never walked barefoot in a hotel or B&B and I probably could have slept on the bathroom floor!!! Michele is a fantastic chef - the breakfast is worth the trip up alone!! In our opinion the location is ideal - town and the beach are a good walk or a trolley ride away. Easy!!!!
