Gazebo Inn Ogunquit - The hot tub is wonderful after hiking or walking all day!

The staff is exceptional, Pete has this place running like a top! This time we stayed in Barn Suite 2 and I think this may now be my new favorite room. The shower is unbelievable and the room well appointed. And breakfast? The best! They make scones daily and each day is a different main breakfast. They also provide ice tea and either a sangria or other type drink along with house made cookies (best I've ever had) as well as Whoopie pies and mixed nuts and snack mix.

We especially loved the large salt water hot tub and mid-day snacks (mixed nuts and large chocolate chip cookies - which were delicious). They also offer a mixed drink and wine at the self serve bar during the day. We stayed in the King 7 room and it was spacious. We loved the rain shower head. I also highly recommend the chocolate sampler box add on! We had the chocolate and champagne available at check in which was a nice touch. The hot tub was often quiet around 8pm and made for the perfect end of evening activity. They have an ample selection of towels and robes by the pool that are available to use. We also enjoyed a couples massage offered by the inn. Breakfast was very yummy! Each day there is a large selection of options you can pick and choose from. They had the breakfast offering for the day displayed and then you check off what you want with a marker on a short form. The inn is about a 10 minute walk from Footbridge beach, which was awesome. Overall I would recommend for any weekend getaway or celebration!

The room is centered around a large, king bed with comfy sheets and fluffy pillows. The room has a ceiling fan and an A/C that makes the room perfectly cold. The bed is surrounded by beautiful windows that give you great light throughout the day and with the shades, good sleep too. Bathroom is newly updated and very clean. The room is right next to the main entrance which I was a tiny bit worried about but it didn't bother us one bit. The breakfast room is large and open all day. It's not a hot breakfast but they offer things like fruit, yogurt, scones, etc. They put out snacks and baked goods for you to enjoy after breakfast and the coffee/tea bar is open all day too! The property itself is impeccably manicured with beautiful landscaping. There's a hammock next to a cute tiny pond and lilacs everywhere which is amazingly fragrant during May. The porch is lovely and I'd sit out there all day if I could. Great spot for remote work too. Overall, great stay and I will return for sure!

It is right off the Marginal Way, which is a gorgeous walkway along the ocean that takes you from the beach to Perkins Cove where you can shop, dine, and enjoy the views of the ocean. The inn-keepers were incredible! They treat you like an old friend, answer questions warmly with a smile, and are armed with a wealth of information about the area. The Inn also includes a Wine and Cheese Shop that had a great variety of wine (some even local!), beer, snacks, jewelry, and other little Maine treats! Last but not least, the breakfast featured hands-down, the best blueberry muffins we have ever had. Enormous and baked fresh every morning by Scott, innkeeper and muffin man! This was an amazing vacation and a wonderful Inn. We will definitely return for years to come!

My husband and l were fortunate to have the opportunity to spend  a few days there from June 19th to the 21st. Our room was extremely clean and comfortable. On our last morning we  were treated to two scrumptious chocolate chip cookies for our ride home. There's no need to worry about packing wine and snacks since the country store at the inn has wine, beer, soft drinks, cheese and crackers at very reasonable prices.  Bev and Scott are experienced and gracious hosts who made our stay so special! They really know how to make their guests feel at home! We're already looking forward to our next stay!

Every room holds its own theme, curated by the artistic and charming innkeeper, Andy, who doubles as docent and storyteller. Walls are filled with "real" artwork, antique hutches and tables filled with classic china, crystal and artifacts, call to you requesting your gaze and curiosity. Amidst this aesthetic encounter you quickly realize the warmth of the space and are drawn in by Andy's familial welcoming. Our ocean view second floor bedroom was comfortably appointed. A special treat was the cozy third floor reading nook, where glancing up from your book rewards you with over the treetop vistas of the sea. Breakfasts were delicious and served under the watchful eyes of a young, beautiful Queen Victoria, smiling down on your new day. Take your second cup of coffee out to the spacious front porch and soak in the sea air. Located a mere stone's throw from the famous "Marginal Way," we rarely used our car, preferring the ten to fifteen-minute walk to either Perkin's Cove or Ogunquit Village. If you are looking for the ultramodern lodging experience the Rockmere is not for you. But if family comfort and a nostalgic stroll into days past appeal to you, give yourself a present and head to the Rockmere Lodge. Steve & Joy Guerriero Spofford, NH

Then 5 months go by of phone tag with this new owner saying how sorry he is, it's busy season, he sees I'm owed the money and he is mailing a check. 2 weeks go by and no check so I call again and he apologizes and says he will look into it, then the day before Christmas I get a text saying I am not owed anything but they will send a gift card for $15, not the $240 I'm owed. I called back after the holidays and was told if I can show the gift cards "which they took" then I can get it back. For 6 months you led me on, led me to believe that I would get the money back, it was over $240 which is a lot. I trusted your word and was nice and patient for 6 months for you to pull that on me. You even told me the exact amount that I was owed at one point, over the phone unfortunately. It's not even that you are a small business struggling, you own multiple inns in Ogunquit. I used to love this place when it was owned by the old owners, they were just amazing but this new owner should be ashamed of himself. Mind you this, when I booked my vacation here it was still with the original owners and there was no talk of change in ownership, an email was sent out a month before my stay announcing it, long after it had booked. My gift cards should of been honored no matter what they were and I should of been given back my money.

The historical aspect of the Inn appealed to us (so many cool nooks, crannies, closets, wide planked floors, giant fireplaces, paintings, & more), Claudine, the Inn's manager, is welcoming, fun, funny, engaging, open, & chatty. Our room, the Duchess Ann Suite was a bit challenged by the 3 of us since we needed one bed more, so we were given permission to squeeze in an air bed that made it perfect. Although facing the VERY busy main road leading into & out of town, we did not hear any of the traffic, nor parades of people due to the A/C units. The front gardens are chock-filled with beautiful flowers, & sweet touches such as a bubbling fountain, moss covered structures, & stone pathways leading everywhere. Breakfast was also perfect, especially because we were able to sit outside on the front porch while sipping our coffee, enjoying our yogurt, breads, cereals, juice & more. We could not have asked for a better experience, a better location, a better welcoming & a better 3 sisters' annual get together.

It was a very expensive reservation over the holiday weekend. The same day I received an email from the hotel stating they charged a 50% "deposit" to hold the room - never mentioned beforehand. When I reached out to ask for a refund of my deposit, I was told to cancel the reservation to receive the deposit back. Ok. I was treated very poorly during the cancellation process by whoever was writing the (unsigned) emails: they wrote I "misunderstood", "obviously", and that I was a "Karen"! ("Karen is a pejorative slang term for an obnoxious, angry, entitled, and often racist middle-aged white woman who uses her privilege to get her way or police other people's behaviors.") Whoever is writing the emails for the company needs some customer service training - hopefully it's not the owner(s): John J and Dwain U are the new owners of the Inn as of September 18, 2013
