I love Pugerudes. They are creative and so helpful, I can't say enough good things about them. We recently moved into a "builder spec home" and oddly enough, none of the windows in the downstairs family room were the same height. The door heights were also not the same as the windows and they were side by side. Pugerudes came up with a nice solution of a cornice which would hide the fact that the three windows and one door were not all the same height as one another. The fabrication of the drapes they made for our master bedroom was beautifully done. Jill, the owner, has good insight on pleating options and hardware choices for whatever look you are trying to achieve. In other instances, Pugerudes had to fix drapes which were fabricated by another firm. Again, they came through with creative, cost-effective solutions. Their work is professionally done and looks beautiful. They take pride in their work and will do what it takes to get the job done. I would use them again in a heartbeat. We made a large purchase of Hunter-Douglas blinds from Pugerudes and were very satisfied with the help we received during the selection and ordering process, installation, and the price. We later decided to do two additional small windows and saw that Costco was offering Hunter-Douglas blinds at what we thought would be a better price. We ordered what was supposed to be the same high-quality line of blinds at a price that was supposedly better than Pugerudes. However, when they arrived, they were a lower quality line than our original order from Pugerudes. We were unable to resolve the issue through Costco, so we went directly to Hunter-Douglas where we did finally get the higher quality blinds. However, by the time we got the same quality line directly from Hunter-Douglas, we paid the same or more than if we had ordered them from Pugerudes, and we installed them ourselves to boot. The moral of the story is that if you are considering buying Hunter-Douglas blinds in the Kent, WA area, call Pugerudes. read more

I have a 15 year old Basset quarter sawn red oak mission style sofa where the upholstery and cushion foam had seen better days. I had the option of buying a new sofa or having the existing one reupholstered, the cost was about the same. I was referred to Pugerudes by Basset. Pugerudes came out to my home to bid the job, provide fabric samples and help me make a fabric choice. Less than a week later I had my newly upholstered sofa back and absolutely love it. They found that Basset hadn't fully connected some of the tensioning hardware when the sofa was first made and resolved that issue, no charge. The upshot is that they did exactly what they promised and finished a day earlier than was expected. Jill has a good eye and nailed the fabric type and color to match my living room. I was recently recommended by a friend to call Pugerudes. I needed shades on the outside of my family room windows. We did not want to block our view but the afternoon sun was beginning to fade my new furniture. Jill came out and measured the windows showed me samples and helped me select something that we could see through but still protect our stuff. We looked at the motorized options, but decided that operating them manually would work just fine. We did not want to spend the extra money. Pugerudes have done four different projects in my home. The honeycomb shades with remote control in my living room and dining room are wonderful, I don't even have to get out of my chair to adjust them! The silk valances add some elegance to both rooms. The kitchen shades are called woven woods, they are so much more stylish that any of the other shades I looked at in the stores. The blackout honeycomb shades in my bedroom are actually made of recycled plastic, it was great to know there were some "green" options to choose from. Overall, the designers were attentive and timely, the installations were done quickly without incident, and the prices were very reasonable. Pugerudes, a family owned business for three generations and sixty years of service in Kent was a wonderful company for us to work with. Jill put together a gorgeous package of sheer blinds and beautiful teal and gold draperies that were just perfect for our new furniture. Dave, Jill's husband, came and measured our tall windows and Jeff, one of the members on the team, came and installed our blinds and curtains. I just had my new sunshades and valances installed by Pugerudes and boy what a difference they made. With all the sun and heat the last few days the sunshades really helped keep my house cooler than ever. I had called Pugerudes out two weeks ago and Jill came out and recomended a sunscreen because we like our view, but when it is sunny, the house can really heat up. She also recomended a really nice wood cornice to cover the shade above the window when it is open. What a great look this provided! The service and product were great. My first experience with this mom and pop store was listening to them argue in the back room while I waited for 10 minuets to be helped in their lobby. After that i got the salesman greeting from Jill Kramer, she didn't seem to know the products well at all, and when it came time to buy the price went up by $200! I waited for them to be ready to be picked up and found that the order was delayed by almost a month. I demanded my money back and went elsewhere. I took my 30 year old Queeneanne chairs in to have them redone. One of the owners David, worked patiently with my wife and I to select fabric and it is awesome.
