I contacted multiple other plumbers and they all charged $35-150 just to visit and give an estimate (they "waived" this fee if you chose to hire them, which I think is their strategy). Rain City Plumbing was able to come out and take a look at my shower quickly, and they gave me very clear and transparent estimates for how much it might cost. The two gentlemen who came by were uniformed, neat, and very polite and patient when explaining things to me. They were respectful of my home, and took off their shoes without me asking (when they needed to go further into a carpeted area to look at the back of my wall). They also followed up with me later to offer me a discount on the cost of parts. When I told them I was waiting to hear back from some of the other plumbers I had contacted, they were understanding and they actually recommended that I shop around and get quotes. I really appreciate that they were very willing to educate me as a new home owner, instead of trying to take advantage of me. While I didn't hire Rain City Plumbing to work on my job in the end, it was purely because I got a more competitive rate elsewhere. My parents used them to redo their entire hvac system and when we bought our first house, we chose to add A/C. We called a couple other companies who scheduled quotes with us weeks out. Valley Furnace just happened to have Darrel at a quote a few blocks from us so he came out minutes after I called! Wore a mask the whole time. He was professional, educated us about our system and maintenance, and even remembered my parent's system! We especially liked that valley furnace works on hvac and water heaters, so they were able to install a thermal expansion tank for just $159! We were able to get an install 10 days later on a Friday. The install had a few hiccups that earned the 4 star review. Shawn arrived on time for the install (wore a mask the whole time) and said electricians would arrive shortly after. He completed the entire install and no electricians. Finally he left, and said the electricians got caught up on a job and would be there soon. Instead of 9am when they were expected, they arrived at 2:30pm and worked until after 4:30 when valley furnace is closed. The electricians were rushed and frustrated because they had been over scheduled that day. When they were done, the A/C did not work. Bless his heart, we called Shawn and he walked us through some troubleshooting over the phone but we couldn't get it to work. Disappointed, we had to wait over the weekend to get it properly installed and working. We planned an event around having A/C as scheduled so this was an inconvenience. Shawn came back Monday morning and replaced the faulty thermostat and now we have A/C! We called the office and left a message Friday afternoon explaining the issue and reiterating that Shawn did excellent work but that we were still disappointed with having to wait over the weekend and hoped there was something they could do to make it right. Monday morning when I called to pay, they had not received my message yet because they were scrambling to reschedule Shawn since he had to come back to our house that morning. I explained the situation and reiterated I hoped there was something they could do. While they apologized and said that's not typical, I was told this was no different than if the electricians had called in sick, so we received nothing to mitigate the inconvenience. We got great work and are happy with our A/C, but still felt that we were owed a discount on service or a service package in response to the inconvenience.

Ed and Matt examined what was there, found a few little leaks, put some new fittings on here and there, made some adjustments to the jet pump and BOOM - I have water pumping into my house again! They were very friendly (and funny), right on time and made sure the whole system was running right.
