I stopped by here because of their enticing Instagram posts. They sell varieties of pizza, NY style as well as allá Romana. Besides that, they sell salads, cheesesteak, hot & cold sandwiches, burgers, meals to go, and desserts. Don't forget to check out the Italian grocery items. Nutella lovers, please visit this pizzeria. I got Nutella gelato for the first time and I almost ate the whole pint. It is so yummy. I also bought kinder cone ice cream. The cone is small but enough to satisfy your sweet tooth. I feel like a kid in a candy store. I want all of the Nutella products there because I can't find them anywhere else. I had eggplant pizza in Roman style and I enjoyed it especially the crispy crust. Chef Cosimo is so friendly and welcoming. Heather is also very nice with a big smile. Newer pizza spot right off South St with both Roma and NY style slices and pies, along with a variety of other sandwiches and other options on the menu. The chef / owner is so welcoming and happy to showcase his shop and the pizza for display. They also have a section selling various Italian goods, snacks, and treats. Ample amount of tables to sit inside, and also a few outside as well. They also have their own dedicated delivery car. Have tried the soppressata and pepperoni ricotta slices on two different trips. Both very good, though a touch dry from being reheated. Very tasty and savory, the ingredients are good quality and the pizza is made with care. Haven't tried the NY style slices yet. Was in Philly for a day and all I wanted was a Philly Cheesesteak. Ordered based on their recommendation and went with their Godfather which did not disappoint. Had Caesar and a slice too which were great. Indoor dining with AC was cherry on top. Thanks! read more

I didn't get a pizza, so I want to say that I believe the pizza is probably great and I will update the review when I've had it. That said, I got two sandwiches and wings for a night in and I can't say I would return for those things. Service was fast and staff was friendly, I simply didn't enjoy the taste of the food. It was under seasoned and pretty average for the price. The place was filled with children running around but that made the space feel more family friendly. read more

This place is the king of self promotion. They're constantly on social media posting and saying they're the best, they have banners hung in the area, have cars covered in their shops name,,,. I ordered 2 slices from the counter and the bill was over $12! What?? that's crazy. Maybe that's why they have to constantly promote themselves and how they pay for the cars and marketing. I'd prefer putting more time and money into a better, and/or less expensive product. I was happy with the pizza, It was good, not amazing. Was it worth $12+, definitely not. Our office is around the corner, so we've recently started to order a few things from here for some lunch meetings. In our last round, we ordered three different cheesesteaks - one with cooper sharp, one with Wiz, and one with chicken. We asked them to cut them up so we could try different versions. I'm normally a cooper sharp fan, but OMG, I actually liked the version with Wiz better. Oh, did I say that out loud? Generous servings, and though it could have been a tad more moist, overall we were all very happy. One nice plus, if you are doing take out, they have long boxes that do a great job of keeping the cheesesteaks nice and warm for that 5 minute walk back to the office. read more

Found this little gem by accident on our way home to our rental -- so glad we did. Loved the layout showcasing all the great options; made it easy to decide. We just grabbed a couple of slices and they were delicious, with a crispy crust that really delivers. Chef and his family could not have been friendlier; felt like we were old regulars within minutes. Only wish we were staying in Philly longer so we could come back. I went in on a street recommendation while waiting down the street at a different pizza spot and I'm SO glad I did. The pizza is not the average pie. The soppressata was spicy and delicious with a perfect thick crispy crust. Tomato pie was fresh and flavorful with the same hearty bite to the crust. As some who travels to NYC frequently for pizza, this place is a gem and on par with any I've gotten in Brooklyn. I highly recommend and will be back! read more

Have bought slices only so far from their extensive menu of many 9ther options. 4 slices over 2 visits. However exciting the varied toppings are, each was dried out from sitting a long while. The pizzas are thoroughly cooked originally and set out on display so, when reheated, they get overdone. Each needed more sauce, and less overcooking and then the creative toppings could shine through. Perhaps not an issue if you order a whole pie made from scratch and delivered hot. I'm still determined to try other things on their enticing menu before passing final judgements. Disappointed that tonight's slices were dry as a bone. Adding my own sauce moistened it up and added back some flavor but the toppings were still tasteless dried out. read more

The pizza was in edible. There was little to no sauce on it. It came coated in oregano which I could smell from the minute the driver dropped it off. It overpowered the whole pizza not that it would have much flavor without it and the long hots. The fries also tasted reminiscent of chicken fingers as if the fryer oil hasn't been changed recently. The tiramisu was going to be the saving grace but it came rock hard, frozen solid... fresh out of the freezer and had to thaw before being able to try. What a complete waste of $40. Dominos would have been significantly better. It's a shame because their Instagram shows all these photos of a chef preparing all this great looking food however that didn't translate into the end product. read more

In town for a hospital visit for a week. Got an Air BnB local to hospital. Walked a few blocks to Puglia Pizza, just off South St. DONT MISS OUT ON THIS GEM IN PHILLY. As self proclaimed foodies, the wife n myself had the Thin Pizza and it was Outstanding and food was just as good! The Italian hogie was outstandung. The right size n great seasoning!! Kudo's! I got a cheesesteak with fried onions. $14.55 after tax, You know I love that!! I got the seeded roll. I liked it. Crispy crust and light, airy bread. Decent amount of meat. The fried onions were raw-esque. It had a good amount of cheese, but it needs a touch better distribution. Good cheesesteak. Little Italian Hole-in-the-wall pizza places can be so hit or miss but Puglia Pizza hits it out of the park. My friend and I tried getting lunch down South street during Oktoberfest and kept striking out. We had a train to catch! The festival needed waits in two lines, first for tokens then food. The restaurants were doir open but no fans running and just hot! Like 80 degrees. We were just about out of luck and going to have to survive on Amtrak food when we saw Puglia. Fans running breezy and cool, clean neat dining area, family environment. There were about 15 pies to choose from for pizza by the slice, my friend got that and was in New York style pizza heaven. I got the Itslian Sub and never had better. The price was totally fair for the amount of food, and my only regret was not getting a dessert. We felt welcomed and valued for stopping in. Originally from NJ/NY so I've had some of the best pizza available. This local place is up there. We had cheese pizza slices and sausage pizza slices and both were perfect. Crisp crust, piping hot, quality simple ingredients, just the right amount of sauce. Owner was born and raised in Puglia. They have several different styles of pizza by the whole pie or by the slice. There's something delicious here for everyone. Staff was very friendly. Next time will give their cheesesteaks a try too! read more

Very nice people but pizza needs works. We ordered two large, one veggie and one with sausage and mushrooms. Both were dry, with little sauce or seasoning. Salads were ok. Space is a big improvement but unfortunately the pizza is not. Hope they fix it. read more
