Luckily, I found myself in Bay Ridge and saw a giant sign advertising the dish! The Jordanian owner of Paradise Sweet & Bakery was kind and spoke about the Kunafa having been made fresh that morning. He sources the best gee and cheese to make the dish as authentic as possible. The beauty of the desserts here are that they aren't super sweet and are very nut heavy. This inclusion of pistachios adds protein, fiber, and healthy fats which helps to balance the glycemic index on a sweet snack. The owner also mentioned that this dish, served hot, is good as a winter food on a cold day. The kataifi dough insulates the cheese and develops a beautiful reddish brown color when cooked. Once cooked and ready to serve, it is topped with a light ladle of sugar syrup, sometimes this has rose water or lemon added in. The last step is a healthy topping of chopped pistachios. For $5 this dessert is everything you'd need in a dessert. It's very filling, but doesn't make you feel weighed down. The owner was kind and offered us another type of snack. This one was also covered in kataifi and tasted like honey. The pistachios added a nice crunch to this sticky snack. Know that you can buy Kunafa in advance and freeze it, but I recommend getting it made hot and fresh! The location has a counter with a wide selection of desserts and some tables out front where you can dine. The owner gave us a plate and forks to enjoy our Kunafa together, but it was so good that we didn't even get it out the door before devouring it.

This can cause an allergic reaction, if the topping you replaced with, is something the customer CANNOT eat. For this location to do this a 2nd time, gives me reason to not buy from here. Start notifying customers when you do not have a topping or other food item for what they asked for, and do not replace it with a potential food allergen.

Wonder... you broke my heart …read more I have come to Wonder a lot since it opened, I love the idea and I do come here with friends when we can't agree on what to get (just as the commercials suggest). But the last time I came, things weren't so good. I came in faded and ordered a brisket sandwich and fries. They came relatively quick and I was chilling while I waited. It came out after roughly 10 minutes and I sat down and dug in. I was halfway through the sandwich when I felt something hard in my mouth, I took it out and saw a little ball-like thing that looked like it could be part of some type of food but definitely not a brisket sandwich. Regardless, I didn't think much of it, taking it out and moving on. But that's when I saw a weird little plastic object in my fries. I took it out to see what looked like a condiment nozzle. Now I can live with a weird little ball, but a weird little plastic object, no way! So I went up to the counter to say something. I waited for someone to come out so I could talk to them, but after 10 minutes no one came and I just cut my losses and dipped. I wish I didn't have to give this review because I do think Wonder has good food, service, and ambiance, but this was disappointing.
