Inedible.
Julia M.

I think this is the first wholly inedible pizza I've ever encountered in my life. The crust was rock hard - I mean cracked into sharp shards that were impossible to chew. There was virtually no sauce or cheese, leaving it flavorless and painful. AND, they were still "cooking" it when I arrived... yet it was ice cold when I got it home 2 blocks later. Holy cr*p - this was shameful. Even my dog - a PUPPY who eats GOOSE POOP - wasn't stupid enough to beg for a bite.

I'd like to be very clear and say the staff here are EXCELLENT. They were very helpful in ushering me through the process of ordering, explained the concept to me, and had nothing but great attitudes. If any of you are reading this, the one star absolutely does not apply to you. So...Wonder. What even is this? A food court that serves food from restaurants that aren't even in NY? I get that it's a ghost kitchen, but I'm not sure there was a demand for something like this. Nevertheless, I'm always one to try new spots in the neighborhood so I decided to give it a shot. On the first visit, I got a burrito bowl from Limesalt. It was mushy, creamy and everything you could ever hope from a Chipotle except it cost more, resembled baby food in texture, and I don't know, just didn't seem all that spectacular. Never one to judge a place on one visit I went back and ordered wings from Wing Trip. Huge mistake. The flavor resembled that crust that forms around the nozzle of a hot sauce bottle, ya know, kinda stale and strange but with a kick. And the wings? They were like chicken sponges with zero crisp. I suppose the fries were decent but not enough to help me get past the wings. I guess I hadn't learned my lesson because I returned a third time, ordered what you see in the picture, which is supposed to be a patty melt and fries, but this time I asked for a refund. Almost 14 bucks for about ten fries and a "burger" that looks like something my 4th grade teacher used to keep the door open. Sorry Wonder. Three strikes and you're out.

Wonder is an interesting concept. And really it's kind of perfect for a neighborhood like park slope. It's great if you have kids who want different things to eat. They have a location with one kitchen that hosts multiple menus. The location is clean and the staff is friendly. This review is for both delivery (which they champion,) and eating at the location. If you have trouble making a decision the many selections will do you know favors. But why does it lose star? At the end of the day... it is quantity over quality. Instead of focusing on one thing and doing it great, they do all sorts of things to varying degrees. So far, I have tried Alanza, barrio, hanu poke, the mainstay, limesalt, and jota. Listen in brief I say stick with the ones that align more closely to typical fast food. Barrio: the quesadillas were solid. Limesalt (which is like chipotle and actually cheaper) is good. But jota and mainstay did not work for me. The shrimp from jota were sad and scrawny, and the patatas were kind of gross. The salmon from mainstay was dry and anemic. Alanza and hanu were both middle of the road. For fast pasta Alanza is fine (better for kids) and I liked hanu fine for a fast poke bowl but my friend felt her fish was a bit off. I think if they can find a way to curate the restaurants a bit better it will be stronger. But as of now I would not get a steak from wonder. I will visit again in a few months and see where they are at. Ps they do delivery perfectly.

We called Olivia after speaking with many caterers about about approach, cuisine and budget, and we were honestly getting a bit defeated. My first conversation with Olivia was so incredibly refreshing in that I told her we are trying to decide between tacos or barbeque and she responded with a very effortless, "why choose?". This immediately put me at ease as we started to brainstorm together. All other caterers were now subpar. She crafted a beautiful menu for us that included mini (single-bite) sized tacos as part of the hors d'oeuvres and an upscale barbeque with hometown roots for the entree. Our guests have not stopped RAVING about our food (strong accolades for the BBQ still rolling in from our Texas and Tennessee-native guests, so you know it was great!). We received a truly personalized experience with Olivia. She even stepped in to work with us directly when we had questions and get saleswoman was unavailable! From the first conversation through the tasting and our wedding, Olivia was one of our top vendors. Her saleswoman, Christina, was excellent at offering advice and ideas as well as suggestions from other events they'd catered (either at 501 or otherwise). On staff, Olivia also has a food design team member who created the most instagram-worthy displays! Definitely an added bonus. Would 10/10 use and recommend Olivia!

Imagine wandering through Park Slope on a Friday early evening and discovering a French-Chinese…read morerestaurant. Well that's what happened to me and I'm glad it did. I've never had this kind of cuisine before and I wanted to give it a try. Immediately when I walked in, I was greeted by soft jazz music in the background and a low light calm ambiance. I went around 5:45/6 and I was the only customer there. It was nice having the place all to myself. The decor gives "soft life" and "unwind after work with a nice meal" and they both met my mood for the evening. The wait staff was extremely kind and patient and very helpful with discussing the menu. I started my meal with the Crystal Peach Oolong and the Sweet and Sour Ribs. The cocktail was sweet like I like and the alcohol was not overbearing. There was a nice balance. You can definitely taste the peach and the Oolong. Very well crafted drink. The ribs were delightful. Tender and falling off the bone. The sauce was absolutely immaculate. I was pleasantly blown away by this dish. For dinner, I ordered the lamb chops and the seafood fried rice. The lamb chops came with Chinese eggplant and the eggplant was very savory. Very soft and well seasoned. It was topped with a sauce that complimented it very well. The lamb chops were chef's kiss. Cooked to perfection and tender. It was topped with a honey mustard sauce that was divine. The meat was cooked medium well and seasoned like my mother worked in the kitchen. You can tell this food is made with love and care. The seafood fried rice was delicious as well. It was a nice side to compliment the lamb chops in addition to the eggplant. It was savory and delicious. I also tried the Jasmine French Martini and the Osmanthus Blossom cocktail. Both drinks were up my alley. My waiter suggested these as I prefer drinks on the sweeter side. Great suggestions. One thing I appreciate about this restaurant is the balance of alcohol and drink flavor. They shine equally and make the drinks smooth and not harsh. Both drinks were very fruity and refreshing. I ended the night trying a soup dumpling. My waiter recommend these black truffle pork dumplings and I have to say: he knows his stuff. If you love truffle, you will truly enjoy this dumpling. First, the broth is just dreamy. You taste nothing but flavor through the whole experience. And the pork? I'm glad you asked. It was delicious. The whole dumpling was just truly divine. I couldn't get enough. I too would recommend trying this soup dumpling after what I had the pleasure of enjoying. When I stumbled into this place, I didn't know what to expect. Safe to say, I was overjoyed with my experience. I was well taken care of and the vibe, food, and drinks have me looking forward to my next visit!

For example, the Peking duck bao was made of confit duck leg instead of Chinese-style roasted duck. Not all the dishes were like that though. The pork truffle soup dumplings were my favorite and it was soo juicy and mushroom-y. I don't tend to like truffle because of the gasoline-like taste, but this didn't have it. I wanted to order the lobster bisque udon but they didn't have lobster in the kitchen so they recommended seafood bisque udon instead which used a lobster bisque base but the toppings are of other types of seafood sans lobster. The soup was good but the udon didn't match the soup. My husband's Fleur cheeseburger was decent but the fries stole the show. My husband really enjoyed the fries seasoning which was made with a house blend of Shao kao (bbq) powder. The interior of this place is so spiffy, it would make the perfect date night spot.

It pains me to waste food and more often than not, I found myself throwing away about half the produce I bought each week. Or I'm ordering in or going out, which isn't always the healthiest way to go. Things I like: - No monthly fees - good for ppl who travel a lot - Adjustable portion sizes for singles or families - Good selection of healthy food and also cheat day food - Everything usually takes less than 5 mins to prep and heat - It's never been frozen - Most of the things I order taste good and heat easily/well - Responsive and friendly customer service - Always delivered within the window - Some things are good to freeze and eat later, like burritos, wraps, soups, etc. - A lot of protein options Things to be aware of: - Order about a week in advance - it's not instant delivery - Minimum order - I think it's $80 or so, and I average $90-130 each time I order. - Eat salad or fresh veggies first since you can't freeze them - A LOT of email reminders - I need to unsubscribe and put reminders in my calendar - 4 hour delivery windows - they usually text about 10 mins prior to arriving. There's now way to track like UberEats. This took some getting used to, but it's always been in the window. - Ice packs - they pack the box with ice packs, but probably not good for the box to sit unrefrigerated for more than a few hours. Either way, I'm eating better and saving money by not wasting food, ordering in or eating out every night.

Jokes on us, 3/4 of us ended up getting food at Hainan Jones. I had a grilled chicken bowl from Wiki Wiki and we also had boba from Tea Makers. Everything at Hainan Jones was great. The bowl at Wiki Wiki was really good. The boba was just fine. You really can't go wrong with Dekalb Market Hall, there are literally so many options. When we were leaving, we realized there was an entire whole section that we had not even realized was there! A plus is that there are bathrooms inside so you can use it before you leave.
