    Ricepot Pad Thai
    Jessica B.

A friend of mine suggested this place for dinner. I haven't had Thai food in a while so I decided to give it a try. It's a small/cozy restaurant with a few two seater tables. We got Thai iced teas--I'll be honest, I've had better. We decided to share the pad Thai and the pork belly fried rice. The food was really good, the pork belly was cooked to perfection. The service was quick. We didn't have to wait long for the meal. I would definitely try some other dishes.

Got recommended to try Ricepot's Pad Thai with pork belly from the cashier, and it absolutely did not disappoint. The pork belly was tender with a perfect balance of crisp and delightful tangy texture, and the Pad Thai itself was packed with flavor -- sweet, not overly tender but has a little smoky, and not overly greasy like some places tend to serve it. The portion size was generous and plated beautifully. You can tell they care about both presentation and quality here. It's a cozy little spot in Bensonhurst right off the 20th Ave train stop, and while it's casual, the flavors are anything but basic. Definitely feels like a hidden gem if you're looking for a modern approach for good Thai food. Service was friendly, and everything came out quickly. The menu has a lot of variety too -- from noodles to curry to house specialties -- so I'll definitely be back to explore more. If you're in the area and craving Thai, Ricepot is a no-brainer.

I ordered take out here and tried the papaya salad, drunken noodles, and green curry. Total was about $50. Portion size for the curry was good and the green curry was very delicious. The green curry came with jasmine rice and has the perfect amount of spice and texture was creamy. The salad was okay but they put a chunk of cabbage in there. Why did they do that? It's a papaya salad not cabbage salad. The drunken noodles were burnt and too salty. Very disappointed at the quality of food I received.

Such a great value meal when you come for their lunch specials. It's a nice Thai place in south bk that offers delicious yet affordable Thai dishes. They don't skimp out on flavor or portion. I would say the chicken wings you can skip, but the satay was decent. Their main dishes are the best as both the Tom yum noodle soup and Khao Soi were delicious.

Honestly stopped in here to pass some time with a beverage but the food at another table smelled so good, I decided to order the Salmon. It was perfectly prepared and the curry was memorable. a balance of Thai flavors with a bit of a kick. Would like to go back and try more of the menu.

BLUF: An over-emphasis on salty and sweet flavors. Our first visit to Rice Pot Cookhouse could have been better. We ordered from the lunch special menu, which offers one appetizer and one entrée for $12 ($13.07 with tax): - Pad See Ew, with chicken: There was so much salt and sugar in this one dish that we stopped eating it after a few bites. - Khao Soi, with chicken: Over-salted, good flavors overall, could use green vegetables (pickled doesn't count) to temper the flavors. Our dish came with slices of slightly overcooked white meat instead of the typical chicken leg, and had ramen noodles instead of egg noodles. - Chicken Skewers: The meat was soft and tender, and the peanut sauce was good. - Edamame: Typical. Service was pleasant. They checked on us and refilled our water. There is a small unisex bathroom in the basement, down a steep flight of stairs. Suggested tips are based on post-tax subtotals and start at 18%.

Thai restaurant in Bensonhurst which is decent and affordable. The service is quick and efficient. A causal restaurant which you can enjoy reasonable food and price. The decoration is simple and display food photos on the wall so that you know what to expect. We ordered drunken noodles which is a bit salty for my liking. Classic Phad Thai is pretty good. Next time will try pork belly basket.

Food was excellent , as well as good service . Not a fine dining experience . Seems like more take out although they did have several tables and a counter I think. We were comfortable eating In however. The dishes we had were delicious and a good portion . One of the best I'd have to say! Would return

Ordered from Grubhub for the lunch special ($12). I got the spicy chicken basil rice. It was sweet with a hint of spicy. The chicken satay was good. It wasn't too dried. I'm happy with the generous portion. I would definitely order from here again. The Bangkok drink was decent. It was a little too sweet for me.

Ricepot Thai Cookhouse is a solid and authentic Thai restaurant in Bath Beach, Brooklyn, and the place is honestly such a gem. The interior is clean and minimalistic, and their lunch sets, in particular, seamlessly marry flavor, variety, and affordability. $12 for an appetizer or soup and one entree-- now that's a steal! * Pork Belly Basket Perfectly crispy streetfood style pork belly, though some pieces were pure fat. The real magic, however, lies in the sauce: a tantalizing concoction of Thai herbs and spices. * Chicken Satay Tender, marinated chicken strips served with a side of creamy peanut sauce. Sadly, both the chicken and the sauce lacked flavor, and personally, we felt the chicken strips were too big. * Chicken Wings Crispy and golden brown on the outside, yet juicy and tender on the inside. Again, lacking flavor, but the side of Thai sweet chili sauce more than made up for it. * Spicy Shrimp Fried Rice I seldom order fried rice at restaurants, since I can easily make it at home, but the word 'spicy' caught my eye. This could've been a bit spicier, but it was packed with plump shrimp, vibrant vegetables, and doused in zesty lime juice, delivering a satisfying explosion of flavors with every bite. * Pad See Ew (Chicken) A classic Thai noodle dish, boasting a delectable combination of stir-fried wide rice noodles, soy sauce, tender chicken slices, and crisp Chinese broccoli. This was both comforting and familiar, with a very generous portion of protein.

I asked to sub rice for noodles because one of my kids is a rice pot (can't go without rice) and requested extra sauce, which they kindly provided. The set meals are a fantastic deal; a full size entree, an appetizer and a drink for $19-20. An extra order of noodles is $2.50 and it's really double the amount of noodles that comes in your entree. I also ordered their new dish with has abalone and sea cucumber; this is not part of a set meal. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It has that umami sweetness that comes from a great soup base and the noodles are delicious as usual. The abalone was tender, the sea cucumber had a bite to it. However, the real negative here is the operations. It is a chaotic mess for the volume they are trying to do. It's not about adding more manpower, it's about streamlining. Tables are sitting empty while people are on the waitlist (not due to reservations), orders are going to the wrong tables, to-go orders are in disarray and have to be re-verified on multiple orders, and it takes a long time to get some water. The Yelp waitlist is useless here - wait was supposed to be 5-10 minutes and it turned into almost 40. All this could have been avoided with more planning, better organization, and training.
