We've been having food from Pulaski's for Easter for years! Finally had a chance to go to the store myself the Thursday before Easter. It's a sizable store with a huge selection of items, practically a one-stop shop. Luckily it wasn't too crowded yet. Supposedly the line gets so long you have to wait outside. We love their lean kielbasa. We've gotten pierogies from here before but not on this trip. They offer two different "brands" with many filling options. They are at two very different price points. Mom's are $12.49 while the other type is about half that price. The stuffed cabbage is usually good but this time it was so salty it wasn't enjoyable. My parents were not too happy that they've now started charging 3% for using a credit card considering how much they spend. This kept them from buying as much as they usually do. read more

I grew up in Linden decades ago. Family tradition to return for Polish food a couple times a year. Pulaski has quality foods and makes its own meats as far as I know. Breads are not like many years ago. Big negative is friendliness. Not everyone speaks Polish. Acknowledge them and smile.Smacznego. read more

Wow, just walk in here and the smell and atmosphere let you know you came to the right place for meat. I primarily go here for the kielbasa and ham. Everything looks great and if I do not focus I will come home with way more than I need. All the meats are fresh. The workers are more than willing to help you with any questions you may have. I went before Christmas to get a ham for Christmas. There was a man playing music on a keyboard. It made for a nice atmosphere. I have ordered and eaten the ham with and without the bone. Both are great and pick whatever you are in the mood for. There are many choices for Polish delis in Linden. If you come here you will not be disappointed. I am just going to wax hot dogs here for a moment. I have been a connoisseur of hot dogs all my life. To me, nothing beat a dirty water dog from any Sabrett cart in the city. It's fast and nasty and you can eat it sober or drunk and it's good all the same. I have my supermarket brands that I prefer over others and without making an endorsement, I tend to like hot dogs in their natural casing. I live not too far from Pulaski and I've passed it numerous times but never made a dedicated trip in to check it out. On my first trip I made a few laps around the store checking out all the prepared foods as well as the assortment of jarred/canned/boxed foods. I didn't want to get in over my head too much, so I settled on the packaged hot dogs and potato and sauerkraut pierogies, but more on those later. When I got home I was excited to break open the package and start grilling the hot dogs. Getting right to the important part, they came out amazing (of course). The casings popped open enough to give you what I call "the condiment canal". It is the natural shelf that is formed when the hot dog separates and it allows you to directly apply the condiments of your choice. I prefer my hot dogs in a potato roll but that's entirely up to you. These things are awesome no matter how you eat them. They have an amazing smokey flavor but not so much that they encroach into kielbasa territory, you know it's still a hot dog. Since coming across Pulaski Meat's hot dogs, I don't see a better one coming down the line. In my opinion it is perfect. Also perfect is their pierogies. I'm not as much of an expert on pierogies as I am hot dogs, but the potato and sauerkraut kind that have been pan seared and served with a little sour cream along side these hot dogs very well may be the meal I request if I'm ever on death row (if they still offer that option). But since I am an upstanding citizen, I get to enjoy these until my arteries hurt. read more

I stopped in today for only the second time. The first time was years ago and I barely remember it. Much bigger in size than other European butcher shop/pork stores, it's more like a mini supermarket. Like Kevin D above, I love hot dogs and sample them as a hobby. I've had hundreds of different kinds. It's what I bought at Pulaski today. There are 2 main types of franks. Eastern or Jewish style beef with a spicy flavor profile and German/Polish style beef/pork which has a wider array of more subtle spices. I like both types. I've been to many pork stores and Pulasji's franks rank among the best. Rich, smoky, and flavorful. My current favorite hot dog. Right up there with Union Pork Store and Kocher's Continental Meats. Very tender and as fresh as can be. The date it was packaged is right on the label. Highly recommended. read more

What a great local find! I happened to be working in the area today and was looking for something good to eat rather than the crap at Quiznos or another local pizza joint. I started seeing Polish signs as I drove down Wood Ave and saw Pulaski with an open parking spot out front. I'm a New Yorker stuck in NJ and I miss the convenience of superior Polish products that I had nearby in Greenpoint. So I was excited to find Pulaski. It's a very clean shop and the centerpiece of the place is the meat. There's a large center island that takes up most of the store that has all kinds of kielbasas and lots of smoked meats. I was happy to see that they had a steam table with perigees, stuffed cabbage, roast pork, potatoes, soup, etc... The rest of the store had all the eastern European supplies you could want - canned and jarred goods, breads, wheat-based items, candy, you name it. So I picked up a pound of krayana kielbasa and had the nice lady behind the counter load up a to-go plate of some hot food. I just wish this place had a few table so I could sit down and enjoy the meal right away. So Plan B was sit in my car and dig in! Everything was very good, excellent quality and prices were very reasonable. If you're in the neighborhood or want some good Polish eats, make sure to sop on by. I know I'll be back. read more

Best kielbasa on the planet!!! They also have the best smoked meats I have found anywhere. This market has an old-world feel and the primary language spoken in the market is Polish. They have many fresh and packaged eastern European items. They do serve prepared items such as Pierogies, galumpkis, etc. Stop in once and I bet you'll be back. Pulaski is well worth a 2 hour drive (one way)! Kielbasa, pierogi, delicious pickles, bakery items, sandwiches and much more. Our family has always shopped at Pulaski for high quality ham, bacon, smoked fish, farmers cheese, mustard and sweets. And free parking behind the building. As soon as you walk in you are greeted with the wonderful aroma of smoked meat....I think we have to make a trip real soon! read more

This place has so many wonderful products and sausages! We love going in here to just look around. However, today I went to buy some fish and it was expired with no tag on it or anything. (It appeared to be the same 2 that didn't have a tag on it last time I went almost a week ago). The lady suggested I buy a different fish because it was expired. I cannot believe that this Polish delicacy institution of Pure Food love is not five stars. I have been coming to the store for quite some time because of the quality of their product. Everyone usually eats cold cuts right? Well boars head is nowhere close to this Polish meat market. Everything here is made in store and smoked on premises. It is hard to put into words how I really feel about this place, but just try it your self and you will see the type of cold cuts you have been missing. Ham in a general store is a block of mashed matter, ham here is literally cut off the side of the pig, smoked seasoned and sliced to your order. Besides that they have every kielbasa you can want and they are all made daily if not every other day. Ribs? Yes those also, smoked in the morning and still warm when you walk in. Fresh Bread, spices,pirogies (every flavor),smoked fish, herring 30 ways, samples for you to try if you have no clue what is what. Processed cold cuts should not be eaten in Central Jersey knowing we have Pulaski around the corner. EVERYTHING FRESH AND EVERYTHING FLAVOR TOWN!!!!! Love this place and always make sure to visit when in town visiting my family. In the top three best kielbasy I've ever had. You know when you're craving one of your favorite Eastern European meals and decide to make it yourself except there's always that one ingredient you can't find anywhere else? Well they have it! I personally didn't like the place. Over priced meat that isn't so great. Nice presentation in the store, but over $10 for 2 stuffed cabbage that were bland and under cooked. There are better polish markets by the Pathmark that are cheaper and have better choices. Parking isn't great either . very disappointed because other people gave it good reviews read more

I remember as a little kid, my Dad and I would wait in line at Pulaskis to get our Easter ham. This was over 30 years ago. And we've been going to Pulaskis ever since. 1st visit last year was just to pick up a holiday babka which was 2-3 days before Xmas & they were out of cheese?? wound up going to Zyrena's at corner of Stiles & St George where NWL used to be & have two very good ones to choose from so i didnt think giving a rating based on a quick pickup would be fair so i figured i'd wait until i wanted to buy several different items this visit i was looking for bavarian bratwurst, knockwurst, breakfast sausage, stuffed cabbage & pierogies maybe a friday afternoon is a bad time to go because they were out of fresh pierogies just frozen(may try them next time), they DONT make the 3 meat items mentioned above??? i've been to tiny butchers who make these i.e. Lutz in Union center so the only item I got was stuffed cabbage but with turkey instead of beef??? looking at the rest of the items they have kind of odd to be healthy on this? some have told me turkey based items are just as good as beed but not in this case a waste of $6(for just two) also last Easter a friend make me dinner with one of their keilbasas--it was as dry or drier than Hillshire Farms! it seems this place is 80-90% packaged goods i would have given this place just 1 star for the sheer quantity of other things they have but because of the reviews i may give this place another chance based & will have to try other items mentioned by other reviewers & if warranted i'll edit my rating read more

This place is great! Pulaski Hunter Ham blow Boars Head out of the water. It is incredible, love using it to make ham and cheddar omelets on Sundays for the family. My husband goes crazy for the kielbasa. Its great as a snack and is a house favorite as a party appetizer... make sure to pick up a bottle of Pulaski mustard to dip them in! yum yum! read more
