Italian chicken cutlet sub with fresh mozzarella - Small (6")
    Kathy

If you are in Millburn you have to stop by their deli! I was greeted by friendly owners and staff and had a good selection of Italian choices for my lunch. My daughter wanted the meatballs and I got the Italian chicken cutlet sub. Their sauce is hearty, the meatballs were authentic, the chicken cutlet was tender and the bread was delicious! I will definitely be going back for more!

Went in for a prosciutto and fresh mozzarella sandwich and boy did they deliver. The bread was fresh and soft in the middle, good crust. Mozzarella was creamy and mild. The prosciutto was perfectly sliced, not too thin that it shreds and not too thick. The home made potato salad was fantastic as well. Perfect spot for a quick and delicious sandwich. Will be back whenever i'm in the area

    Jersey Italian Sub

Tried calling in an order today from two different phones but no dial tone, so that was odd. Went in person anyway because of the promising reviews. This place does not disappoint. I got the Jersey Italian Sub and my GF got the Prosciutto Sub. Also picked up some cole slaw and a couple of spicy homemade sausages we will have for brekkie in the AM. I know people in the area love Millburn Deli, as I do, but Mia Famiglia Inc will now be my go-to for an Italian sub. Nothing better in the SOMA area that I've found so far. The shop also sells pasta and pantry items, so you can bet I'll be restocking next time I go back.

Let me start off by professing my undying devotion to this Italian deli. I did t know it existed until my Daughter raves about the breakfast sandwich made here. It is a masterpiece. Pancetta, mozzarella & eggs on a roll. Made fresh in this tiny store crammed with Italian goodies. Every single person in the store made me feel like a lifelong customer. The warmth was genuine and heartfelt. Italian music playing was quite pleasant. While I waited for the sandwiches I began buying more. Sun dried tomatoes in olive oil were mouth watering. The Semolina bread was indeed the best in New Jersey. The smoked mozzarella cheese was fantastic. The piece de resistance was the white Italian figs. So superior to any fig I've ever had. Everything in this store looked amazing. I will be coming back again to try their lunch sandwiches and so much more. Located near the Millburn Shop Rite this is a must visit for sure. Hats off to the great people who work there!

    Friday special Eggplant parm yum

I'm in NJ for work and it was already kinda late in the day But I'm from the west coast and any opportunity to grab some real New Yawk old school red gravy food. Stumbled on Mia Famiglia on Yelp and headed over. This place is just what I was looking for. A small family owned Italian market that makes solid Sammie's. I got the Friday special baked eggplant parm and the meatballs and both were excellent but the eggplant was the winner ! The meatballs came with a nice layer of homemade mozzarella nice touch. Now I have a new place to pick up food for my flights back from Newark....This is a solid place for legit Italian casual food,....very good and we will be back.

Best meatball parm of my life. There, I said it. The owners are very personable, and all the food is fresh and yummy. Although I've not delved into their non-sandwich offerings, there's a posted menu daily with a decent sized selection of specials. I'm really surprised that there's not a line out the door, but from the other reviews, it's obvious that Mia Famiglia has its share of fans.

As I drove up to the supermarket I realized I had passed it before and found it interesting. This is perhaps the smallest ShopRite I've been to in quite some time. It really looks like this was originally a small neighborhood market that has been renovated over the years. The most recent renovation looks very recent, probably in the last few years. The sign is very shiny and new, the exterior is super clean and the interior is bright with a lot of the new lighting that ShopRites everywhere have been installing. That said, the store is smaller than say Garwood or Linden so expect smaller aisles and tighter turns as you navigate your cart through the store. Item selection was unexpectedly good. I find as a chain of supermarkets ShopRite locations vary in their stock. I figured with such a relatively small space they would have to limit their stock to the only a handful of brands but the selection was nice. For instance, they had about five or six different brands of peanut butter and a good selection of items in their Asian sauce section. The produce also looked nice and fresh. On top of all that I was impressed by their selection of items like Beyond Meat and Impossible Burgers. I did not really interact with the staff other than checking out. No one was particularly friendly but they weren't *unfriendly* either, just very neutral. This was not the best ShopRite ever, but I enjoyed the visit and it's good to know if I'm in the area I can pick something up here.

Still a convenient stop if you're in the area, but something as simple as Sun Chips (for example) not being available just makes no sense to me. It happens a lot, which is why I no longer frequent this location. Customer service is not very helpful either. They seem to not have any answers to any questions.

It was pretty empty and I got a carriage full of food quickly. First compliant -- Young guy working in the store, pushing a cart around, almost hit me. He didn't say excuse me ... No, I did. I apologized to myself on his behalf. LOL! Second complaint -- Nasty cashier. There was NO ONE at Cashier #3, so I approached. The woman let out a sigh. I said, "Oh, you're busy" (she wasn't) and I went to go somewhere else. She insisted I go there, yet the tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife. THEN the lady behind me, the cashier was very pleasant too. I think that qualifies as being rude and judging someone without knowing them? I think so. WEIRDO. Third complaint -- The green onions were rancid! The color did look off, and I tasted them -- disgusting! I can't stand this store. It's a waste of a beautiful store because the workers here are obviously incompetent. They can't get rid of groceries that are bad. No one here likes to work. This is the worst Whole Foods in the state of New Jersey. Gross!

The best cakes here are the tiramisu and the tres leches. They do have cheaper than average organic milk (but check the expiry dates) and they have a good food bar (mac & cheese and the wings are a good choice usually, and the curry usually smells delicious) but at $12/lb, it can be expensive if you aren't careful.

Many months later, I came back and Green Way Markets had taken its place after a significant renovation! Using a modern design sensibility, this market uses a lot of black, silver and white colors with bright lighting to create a look that is both utilitarian and welcoming at the same time. The market looks and feels clean and organized, with good sized aisles. This isn't a Costco or Shop Rite, so you can't go barreling down the aisles with a cart, but I never felt crowded in. Green Way Markets carries some items I would definitely consider a bit more upscale including some of their yogurt selections and items in the meat section (I recall seeing both duck breast and caviar). They also carry items that not all smaller markets carry like plant based meat products. There is also a prepared food counter that also has baked goods like cakes. I suspect most folks would probably use larger markets for their "main" food shopping but this is a fun place to check out some brands you normally don't see and maybe pick up some specialty items. I recommend checking it out. After all, it's always great to have options!
