Pulsar did a phenomenal on my kitchen remodel and 1st floor flooring installation!!! The remodel involved the removal of a wall that was load-bearing; contained mechanical, plumbing and electrical components; and supported built-in cabinetry for a refrigerator, double oven and microwave. What was made even more challenging was this owner's choice to maintain part of the existing kitchen layout while altering other portions due to the absence of the wall and the relocation of built-in appliances. I was somewhat apprehensive about doing a remodel, as my home is relatively new (less than 15 years old) and did not require one, if not for the need for functionality and the preference for an open concept with the wall removal. However, the remodel blended seamlessly with the rest of the kitchen and first floor due to the meticulous planning down to the smallest detail by Elena and Dmtry. They were highly efficient and expeditious in pulling permits and coordinating engineering, plumbing and electrical work, and their great rapport with the city inspector ensured no time lapse between the completion of phases of work and inspection. Work was completed 2 weeks ahead of the scheduled completion date. Dmtry, Elena and their team were extremely professional and always arrived on time, if not earlier, which was respectful and considerate of my time, as I work and run errands throughout the week. Elena was also exceptionally reliable and effective in communicating their progress on a weekly basis, upon my request, to update me on what was to be expected of them and how the project was moving along. When wrapping up the project, she communicated by phone, text, and email with questions about my preferences regarding finishing touches to make sure I got what I wanted but at the same time offered suggestions based on her experience and expertise. Dmtry has superior knowledge of all facets of the field and approaches his work with an unsurpassable degree of accuracy and excellence. The team was very neat and did a great job isolating the work and the dust and debris that comes with it from the rest of the house, including protecting furniture with plastic sheeting. The most important aspect of the remodel was the impeccable quality of the internal work, such as structural integrity and mechanical, electrical and plumbing that was demonstrated by the inspector having to come out only once for each phase of work. The aesthetic appearance of the new layout, cabinet/appliances re-installation, drywall, baseboards, paint, flooring, and lighting is of utmost and sheer perfection. I highly recommend Pulsar Construction for home remodeling. Elena, Dimitri, and their crew were wonderful to work with. They remodeled my 1500-sq.-ft. house in Palos Verdes Estates in the second half of 2025. The remodel included a full kitchen, two bathrooms, fireplace tile, engineered hardwood flooring, molding, trim, window, interior paint, and washer/dryer installation. I originally found Pulsar on a Yelp search. I narrowed down my search to three remodeling companies that got excellent reviews on Yelp, including Pulsar. I also asked a client of mine whose home was recently remodeled beautifully who their contractor was, and they responded that it was Pulsar and recommended them. They said they were great to work with, on time, and on budget. I met with and got quotes from from Pulsar Construction as well as two other companies. I immediately liked Elena and Dimitri (General Manager and General Contractor, respectively) because they seemed very knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. I hired them because of this and because I loved the idea of having a woman (Elena) be my main point person through the remodel. (I had had a bad experience in a previous remodel with a male contractor who was dishonest and condescending to me as a woman.) I found Elena to be extremely knowledgeable, organized, cheerful, respectful, budget conscious, patient, and excellent at communication (prompt and thorough). Dimitri obviously takes great pride and accountability in his work. He explains the work and issues in detail, comes up with creative solutions to problems, and is happy to accommodate requests. Elena was great at working with PVHA (the home association) and the City to meet their specifications and secure permits and approvals. She also was good at calming me down when I got frustrated with the home association demands. Pulsar set me up with quality materials vendors, such as The Kitchen Store. I love my kitchen cabinet layout, design, and color. Elena also found me a reasonably priced store to order my new engineered hardwood flooring, Fancy Floors. Additionally, she worked with Universal Appliances, Seven Stones (for quartz countertops), Fancy Floors, and the Kitchen Store to secure deep contractors' discounts for me. The Pulsar construction crew was always respectful, considerate, and eager to help whenever I had a request or question. I would definitely use Pulsar in the future. When the project was done, I was thrilled with the results and strangely a little sad that I wouldn't be working with Elena anymore. Pulsar construction completed a full remodel of our master bathroom down to the studs. This included moving a wall to expand the bathroom, and repiping our whole upstairs (beyond the master bath) to replace the old, leak prone copper piping with PEX. We're so happy with the results - the level of craftsmanship from Pulsars work is top notch, and we're reminded of that everyday when we use the bathroom. Further, we have peace of mind knowing that the work we can't see (behind the walls) was completed with the same level of quality. Something else which stood out about Pulsar is how they responded to an unforeseen issue which came up. They immediately took responsibility and resolved it. We have found Dmitry and Elena because we needed to replace our flooring in the kitchen and the living room after a kitchen pipe leak. At that time we had a 3 year old and a 5 year old kids in the house. I was very pleased how easy and fast they have installed the floors with almost no dust and no noise. Every time they would leave the house they would clean the floor the furniture spotless so we could carry on with our daily routine. Not only did they provide the quote in 24 hours from the time we met, they went out of their way to meet with me in less than 24 hours from the time I contacted them. Wow!
