If you're looking for a roofer - start with Tom's company Presidential Roofing. I found Presidential Roofing via Yelp and was definitely tops on my list for roofing companies due to the stupendous reviews. After having experienced the service and detail of this company - I'm completely convinced they are trustworthy, offer value and a good experience and should get a call for every roofing project. I've been considering a reroof for seven years as I knew my roof would need replacement along with skylights and gutters eventually, so I've read up about all there is about roofs and skylights and gutters. Tom arrived, and did a detailed assessment on top of the roof, and provided good feedback on my concerns. He noticed several things on his assessment and offered additional options on them including various ventilation ideas. I asked him about my siding as well - he thought my siding did not need replacement so we did not quote that out. He said that his crew would strictly be outside for the project and would not need to enter the home for any reason (even though we were doing an attic fan install, and skylight replacement). About 2 days later, I received a quote via email, and we chatted more about the details - particularly about my sky light replacements and the merits of different types of roof ventilation. Being my first quote, I thought the quote was definitely a good quote (verified later after four more quotes that I received - same shingles, harder sell job from others, and some did not even climb the roof at all). After all my quotes came in, I went with Presidential Roofing - scheduled for two weeks later Roof would take 2 days, Gutters half day. The week of the job - I received a note from Tom on the particular details of the week. Don't keep the car in the driveway or in garage, as they'll deliver and use the driveway for the materials/haul away for three days. Materials were lifted onto roof off a flat-bed truck crane Tuesday afternoon. Tom advised that the skylight replacement would create some interior dust/debris (so I used some painter cloth tarps/plastic covers taped to the ceiling). They left a small dumpster trailer (swept really clean btw) off to the side of the house (wooden planks so no tire treads in grass). Each day they would clean up around the home, and would do a magnet roller to catch any nails that would have fallen around the home. The project was done exactly on time as scheduled. They started at 7-7:30am - 6pm each day for the roof. The crew was great - they were friendly, detailed, and Tom called a few days later to ask about the roof. The final invoice arrived by mail the following week (no surprises - very close to the quote), when I had the payment ready - Tom dropped by to fetch. read more

I can't say enough nice things about Presidential Roofing. Found them via Yelp after getting multiple other quotes from other roofers. The owner Tom came out to do an initial evaluation and gave me a very straightforward quote. I initially wanted to do gutters only and he told me I was better off waiting until I was ready to do the roof also. So I waited a year and then went back to get a renewed quote. Tom honored the pricing on the original quote, even though it was a year later, was very honest with me about what I did and did not need (even recommending not adding certain improvements because it didn't work for my roof instead of charging me for things I didn't need). Communication was excellent the entire time (he kept me updated, his crew came when he said they would), the price was very affordable, and the quality of the roof and gutters was great. We had looked at a number of different companies, but Presidential Roofing provided the best value and service. Tom gave an honest quote and was great at communicating through the process, working around our schedule. The day after our roof was scheduled to be replaced there was rain forecasted, but the crew managed to get the old roof tore off and replaced by the end of the day, doing a thorough job to make sure everything was sealed. They will make sure whatever they do is sealed at the end of the work day. They also did a great job cleaning up and left things better than they arrived. Tom was also the only contractor who followed up with me after the estimate to let me know that it had been performed and to contact him with any concerns. We received an honest estimate with explanations and clear acknowledgement of expectations for possible additional costs. The work was completed within the given time frame. We received a beautiful new roof, skylight, gutters, downspouts, additional proper venting, flashing and aluminum fascia/soffits. Professional quality and professional installation. All of this and an affordable price. My old gutters had Gutter Stuff filters installed. I forgot to mention this and was worried it would be discarded with the old gutters. I was happy to see that my gutter filters were saved and put aside. Greatly appreciated. I went onto the roof to inspect and to put my gutter filters back in and was very happy with the worked performed. Great work and installed with care. The gutters felt strong enough to hang from, but I wouldn't recommend trying! I also appreciated the 3"x4" size downspouts. My neighbors downspouts now look inadequate. My home and property was clean and free of any debris. Previously I had used tar for do-it-yourself repairs and got in on siding where my roof meets that siding. They went above and beyond by cleaning up that old tar where the new roof was being installed. It was not expected and again greatly appreciated. Our home is no longer an eye sore. I have an old house and needed insulation but i don't understand soffits and air flow. His rates were reasonable and he is able to offer decent prices on Owens Corning shingles among other brands. He left us with a quote and some samples and didn't pressure me at all. At the time, he was booked a few weeks out. When we decided to hire him, there was a 30% down payment due before the job began. In the days before they came out, Tom kept in touch over text messages so that we had a clear idea of when they'd be showing up. They did a great job on the roof and cleaned up same day.
