I just got my gutters done today by Derrick and his team. I got my gutters on the house taken down and new gutters with guards put up there. Also, I got gutters and guards put on my garage. Derrick called back very soon after I left a voicemail for him and came out to look at the damage later that afternoon. First of all, he was professional, friendly, and helpful. He told me that this was a pretty straightforward job and he had a minimum service charge, but he offered to include the cost of the material and he ended up fixing two other minor issues on the exterior of the garage and house as well when he came back a few days later. He arrived on a Saturday morning, just when he said he would, and fixed everything just as promised, and he didn't mind taking a little time to explain a couple of things to me so I understood better why (for example) something needed to be nailed down or caulked. He was a pleasure to work with and I'm only sorry that his work is apparently limited to the outside of the house because I would hire him in a minute to do anything inside the house as well. The back deck on my 2-flat was having a serious issue with water coming down from the roof. In the summer, this wasn't so serious, but in the winter it was turning to huge sheets of ice all down the stairs, which was absolutely treacherous. We couldn't even use the steps because the ice was so bad. It's a flat-roof building, and I could tell the water was coming down from the gutter and downspouts. Enter Derrick and Pulse Exterior! Derrick is a very pleasant person who was very reassuring about the work he could provide replacing a corner piece and siding for my garage. He quoted me a flat rate with parts and labor which I agreed to. He was even willing to drive all the way out to Indiana to a distributor that had the hard to obtain part for my garage siding. when he found out that I was able to get the part on my own via an old contractor I had used, he knocked down the flat rate we already agreed to since I was saving him a trip. On the scheduled day for the fix, he contacted me and explained that the below freezing weather may cause cracking to the vinyl siding pieces during the install but he would be very careful and move slowly. Because he set expectations up front before the work, I asked to reschedule to a forecasted "warmer" winter day which he gladly obliged. When he came that following week, he was wearing a mask. The worker he brought didn't wear one but we were outside and he kept a good distance away from me so it wasn't a concern. My gutters had issues with overflow in certain spots, and the shortness of the downspouts meant that the water discharge was getting trapped in my side/front gardens, too close to my house, causing some water seepage issues in my basement. Darek came out and inspected my gutters with a drone, and showed me the pictures he took with it, pointing out how my gutters were old and had been installed with nails, most of which were coming loose and my gutters were just generally in rough shape. I wanted them replaced cause of this, and gutter guards added because I have a lot of trees next to my home, and my downspouts extended past my gardens to get the water further away from my house.
