Asked him how much for the diagnostic and he said don't worry about it. Instead of milking me for an obvious expensive job, not only did he let me go but he didn't charge me for diagnostic. A few months ago I brought a very old car with known issues. 97 Camry. I've had several mechanics look at it and they couldn't do much despite me paying them. Since this guy gave me a good deal last time decided to take it to him. After inspecting he said it'll be a major repair. Which I already knew from other mechanics. He said that it had a lot of problems and it's not worth repairing. He said that to give up on it cause if I take it to other mechanics, they'll just start repairing piece by piece and it'll add up.
