    Brisket Sandwich

Went to the food truck in Bend--quick service and oh my god that brisket!!! It was so tender, moist (hate that word but when it works, it works) and peppery. Some of the best damn brisket. Ridiculous!!! The sandwich was packed with it. Also, the Beale bbq sauce is a nice tangy and pepper Carolina bbq style. Highly recommend

I don't know what happened to this place over the last year or so. We used to make a special trip out from Bend just to eat at Pop's, but recently the meat has been oversalted, rubbery, and dry. We hoped it was just bad luck (every restaurant has good days and bad days) but today we actually dumped most of our $50 lunch in the trash! The ribs were ungodly salty and dry, with only a few edible bites between our two meat plates. The chips tasted like fish of all things, the baked beans that said on the menu "not sweet" were in fact very sweet, and the potatoes in the potato salad were undercooked to the point of crunchy. Hoping whatever went sideways goes back to normal, because it used to be good BBQ!

Just sat down after a long drive and went to pops bbq. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and quick to give recommendations. Food came out quickly. I had the brisket, potato salad, and grits. It's was really good considering it's tough to find good southern bbq in oregon. Highly recommend to anyone stopping through sisters. Definitely coming back for more.

Probably 1 of the 10 best bbq places I've been. Try the brisket. The 2 boys running the place are upbeat and fun.

Brisket and ribs with chips and broccoli salad

Had the two meat plate - brisket and ribs with the homemade chips and broccoli salad. So full, happy belly!! Fast service and friendly staff. It's a food truck. Nice covered picnic tables in a garden setting. Worth the stop. Had a beer from The Barn to wash it all down, yum.

I know I left a review already when we first found this cart, but we have gone back every weekend since!! Today my husband and I literally ate A POUND of Pulled Pork and 1/2 a dozen wings. Also brought our parents and they ordered the Brisket and Chili and there was nothing left of their plate. I wish I would remember to take pics before I touch the food but its so good I cannot hold back. Do yourself a favor and GET YOURSELF SOME POP'S SOUTHERN BBQ!! Even if you order from a different food cart when your there get some Pop's to go!

This gem of a food cart is tucked away in a yard with beer, fireplaces and live music! The chicken wings come with a dry rub and sauce is optional. The wings were incredible as-is although they do have a choice of 3 bbq sauces and I found myself falling in love with their Lonestar sauce! I will be taking some back to Portland with me. I ended up going back for seconds and tried the ribs, they had an incredible dry rub as well and fell right off the bone. Everything here exceeded expectations and if you find yourself stomping around Bend, OR I highly recommend checking this place out!

Good but $25 for the two meat plate is kind of expensive. They should add another meat or reduce the price

Probably the best bbq in Oregon. My certified Texan bf says the brisket is on point and I say the chachos are the bees knees.

Brisket and sides were great. Ordered it for pick up and he waited to cut the brisket once I was there. It melted in my mouth!

Ask the Community - Pop's Southern BBQ

Can I order pulled pork, brisket and chicken by the pound? If so, how much advance notice do you need for a few pounds of each?

Hi there! Right now we have pulled pork and brisket available by the pound. Just call ahead of time to make sure we have how much you like left. As for chicken, we can do them with 48 hours notice. We will be adding them to the menu shortly. For… Read more

He sweats and pushes us to order and eat fast, doing that waiter thing when they pretend they are not rushing you. "Just checking if you need that plate taken away." Not fooling anyone. Brusque to my brother who is into fine wines and requested tastes of some by-the-glass wines before committing to a glass or a bottle. My wife stated she is uncomfortable around the server. We don't go to the Open Door much now. Old review. A real romantic spot. Great drinks. My wife loves it. Sitting outside is best but the bar is good too. Some nights they put tables in the art gallery out front and you sit around the paintings and jewelry, kind of fun. There used to be a waitress named Kristen or Kirsten, a lady with long hair and clogs, the best server I've ever had and I don't just mean in Central Oregon. The Open Door is the probably the best dining experience in Sisters. Living in Tumalo and working throughout Oregon, I go to Sisters often. Unfortunately Sisters isn't a great town for food. The Open Door has some very-good food, and some pretty-good food. You never know which it's going to be. The halibut, meatballs, and lasagnas are solid. Berries and cream dessert is great. The menu doesn't change much over the years. If my wife didn't love it I wouldn't go back so often. Get bored eating the same dishes over and over. When my brother and his grown kids visit they like the atmosphere, especially those small houses outside with the plants. However they have trouble finding a selection that works for their way of eating, allergies, one is vegan and one is lactose intolerant.

The vibe was peaceful and inviting, making it the perfect spot to unwind. Service was attentive, though a bit on the slower side, we waited almost an hour for the main course. They do have a kitchen break between 3:30-4:30 PM, and I'd recommend making a reservation if you're planning to visit during peak hours. The food was fresh, flavorful, and creatively presented--it's clear the chef enjoys experimenting with unique flavor combinations. My husband tried the seafood lasagna, which was a tasty and satisfying treat. The scallops dish was also delicious, though slightly too salty for my taste and quite light--it came with a small amount of polenta and a vegetable purée, so I found myself a bit hungry afterward. Many people around us were ordering pasta, and it looked fantastic--definitely something I'd love to try next time. Overall, a beautiful place with great food and a memorable atmosphere. Highly recommend!

The table was filled with breakfast favorites. We ordered hotcakes, eggs, bacon, potatoes, and huevos rancheros. A couple of morning cocktails also made an appearance, including Cottonwood's version of a Bloody Mary and a rum-infused mocha. The huevos rancheros had a bit more kick than expected, but it worked. Our server was fun and easy to chat with, which added to the relaxed feel of the morning. Nobody rushed us, and breakfast with friends is one of those things that shouldn't be rushed. Will we be back? Probably. Cottonwood Cafe feels like a place where locals and visitors can both feel at home, and it was a nice way to wrap up another great trip to Sisters. After we sat down and started looking over the menu, our very friendly server came to take our order. Before she did, she apologized and told us she had some bad news--they were out of a few items. Unfortunately, it wasn't just a few things; it was almost the entire menu. They were out of bread, buns, and lettuce, along with several sandwiches, including the Reuben. She even asked if we wanted to stay given how many items were unavailable. I had been looking forward to their amazing smash burger, but since they were out of buns, that wasn't an option. Instead, I ordered a parfait bowl with a side of potatoes, and my mother ordered the buttermilk pancakes. This situation is unfortunate not only for the customers, but also for the servers, who are left trying to provide good service despite having so many menu items unavailable. Sadly, this experience was disappointing enough that we won't be returning.
