I chose Red Beard Barbecue among the food trucks in the group for lunch during our visit to Bend. I ordered the tri-tip plate with a side of beans and potato salad. It is served in a styrofoam container as we ordered to go and then sat inside Dogwood building. It first appeared to be a very small portion (single meat $13), but as I am a lighter eater it was enough. Probably not enough for others and I would recommend ordering a larger size. Flavor of the tri-tip was good and it was tender enough to cut with the plastic knife. The honey garlic sauce bumped up the flavor. The beans were absolutely delicious . Potato salad had a different flavor and I probably would not order it again. My hubby ordered the burger with ground beef and ground sausage combined. He really liked it a lot. His fries were outstanding. Flavorful and not your typical fries. Glad he shared them freely. Service was great from the gal in the truck. We would return and try other things on the menu. Ok I always get sucked in when I see the word "Barbecue". So you know what I did ...yep, I ordered BBQ. So, with visions of Texas BBQ dancing through my mind, I went and ordered the brisket plate. For $23 you the meat and two sides. I know that I can be a food snob but come on Mr. Red Beard....you gotta do better. First off the "meat" had no smoke ring to speak of, the meat was cut with the grain, the BBQ sauce tasted like it came from a bottle, the coleslaw had no flavor and the pasta/potato salad was.....I have no idea what it was. After a couple bites of each I had to toss it. So again people do yourself a flavor and avoid the BBQ at this establishment. I will try back in a couple months to see if what I ordered was a fluke. read more

Best Bbq in Redmond. My favorites are the tri tip and pork ribs. But their sides are not slacking either. Their potato salad and baked beans are my go to's. They are delicious and not the same old same old. They are unique. And made fresh. You have to try the bbq at Red Beards!! read more

So we've had their beef ribs, pork ribs, and smoked brisket (3 different visits and schlepped the food home to eat) thus far and everything has been outstanding quality. The only reason I rated 4 stars instead of 5 is that the restaurant building isn't operating as a full time restaurant (soon I hope). Their food and service is simply phenomenal. Being an old Tennessee Hill Country boy, my personal favorites are the brisket and corn salad. The ambience isn't much, being a food truck outdoors, but that's fine with me. read more

I stopped at this food truck after my other lunch plans fell through and was pleasantly surprised! There was just a single worker in the truck but got our food out quickly despite there being a large family ahead of us. I went for the brisket plate. The portion of meat was huge and the bbq was delicious. I really loved the spicy honey sauce and coleslaw as well. read more

Good BBQ, but not great. Fantastic staff. Great sides. Just not my favorite rib meat. Sauces are good. Again not great. Meat should stand up on it's own. Alas, it did not. Told the gal working that it was my birthday, she gave me a deal (a couple bucks off). Really nice. Thank you. Will try some of their other stuff. Like I said, sides were great.
